Have you ever read the signage in locations like Monona Terrace, Washuburn Observatory, or Peace Park? Then you know their work. In my professional life I've worked with Vondra annually for the last four years. We grant a total of nine graduate/instructor awards each year, which means we order both individual award plaques for each recipient and a brass nameplate for those multi-year award plaques that are kept onsite. I'm that go-to gal who makes projects like this happen. Every year I've worked primarily with Shane and Jeff to set up and execute our orders, but every person I've spoken with has been extremely helpful and always pleasant. The love what they do. This is one of my favorite bonuses when working with long standing small family businesses. The service we receive from Vondra is exceptional. As many office dwellers know, it's not unusual to run into snags with larger orders like this. We've only had two in the years I've been working with them. Shane and Jeff stepped up in both cases and made it right without hesitation. When we realized one order had slipped through the cracks with less than a week to get it done they rushed it and had the whole order delivered to us in two business days. I'd offered to come pick it up as usual, but Jeff ran it over to our office himself. Last year one of the plaques was accidentally scratched before we received them and they had to order a plate to remake it.They called me immediately to let me know and gave us the scratched plaque to use for the ceremony. We had a replacement for the recipient in-hand the following week. We've only gone through Vondra for engraved plates/plaques, but they'll also do signs (and installation), laser engraving, metal engraving, wood engraving, glass etching, graphic design & layout services. The program I work with has been relying on Vondra for many more years than I've been in the role, and it's clear why. Professionally speaking, they can't be beat. While I haven't had a need to go through them for any personal jobs, I wouldn't think of going anywhere else if I needed their services for an engraved or etched gift.

I'd purchased a key ring somewhere else but wanted the back engraved and Zach did it the same day. Its not like the piece you're having engraved has to be purchased there but there are plenty of key rings and assorted merchandise to choose from. I'm totally impressed with their customer service, the amount of time it takes them to engrave and the quality of the finished product. Their prices are very reasonable and the engraving is also very reasonable, unlike the engraving kiosks that some malls have. Some engraving places won't even DO the engraving unless you purchased the item from them which isn't always the case. That doesn't happen at Engraved Gift. You won't regret using them. It's easy to find, in between Turpin Dodge and House of China's on JFK Road. They are located in a mini strip mall. There's plenty of parking and it's easy to get in and out quickly. They did cheap , horrible work for repairing a ring 2. They did NOT stand behind their work with integrity to make things right 3. The owner- Brian Veness is a dishonest businessman that tries to scam people with lies. Fall of 2023- I took my ring into B Jewelers in Sun Prairie to be expanded in size. I have had this ring since 1995. I normally go to my cousin that is a jeweler (his father was also), however he was between job locations at the time. A shank was put in to expand the ring. Fast forward to March 2026- out for dinner and the ring got a chip in the shank. (1st pic) I only knew because it caught in my hair. I took it off- wiggled the area and low and behold the entire shank addition broke off at the seams. I did consult my cousin, and he advised that it looked like overheating of the joints in the welding process to add this shank. He was willing to fix it but said it may be best to go back to B Jewelers since they did this original work to see if they would honor their work. Dropped the ring off on March 6. Jessica advised that the "head Jeweler" would take a look at it the next week. I was called on March 10 to schedule an appointment to discuss my ring. I had a 3pm appointment on March 11- with Jessica and the owner Brian Veness. This is where ALL the lies began. They had a projection screen up with images of my ring on it. Brians first question was if I use ring cleaner. I advised here and there but not often. I also advised I don't use my ring in chemicals or chlorine pools. He said that even putting a ring into cleaners 1 time - can damage a ring and cause decay. He informed me that after looking at my ring- that it didn't break because of the work they did on it. It was because my ring has cracks in it. My ring is "disintegrating" and parts of it are like "sawdust". I questioned why it would break at the 2 points that it was welded for the shank. He explained because farther up it is breaking. I then advised that my cousin is a jeweler and I normally go to him , but why I came to B Jewelers for this original fix . I advised my cousin saw this ring and said it had to do with over heating during the welding process. He asked if we could call my cousin "right now". Wish I had done that - to set Brian straight. He even said he hoped my cousin who originally designed the ring had the mold- because the entire ring would need to be redone. There was nothing he could do to fix it. This is ALL a complete BS answer. He just doesn't want to stand behind his work. I took my ring to my cousin, at his reputable jewelry store in Madison on March 18. He looked it over VERY closely under the jeweler magnifying machine. There are ZERO cracks in the ring. The ring is NOT disintegrating nor turning to sawdust. The welding was done faulty. I will be getting it repaired by my cousin , paying more money to get it done right this time. I write plenty of very good reviews for local businesses of all types. However, this is more of a warning to others- do NOT take your jewelry to B Jewelers for any repairs. Not only will it possibly not be fixed correctly, but if anything goes wrong, they will NOT stand behind their work. And the owner--- Brain Veness- is NOT to be trusted.
