I love Greek food and I love Souvlaki - so should have loved this, right? Nope - it was all a bit mah.
I often walk past here and really loved the way it looks clean and bright. So today I stopped in for a take away Koto Souvlaki (chicken in a warm pita bread with salad and tzatziki).
The place was empty when I walked in, but I was ignored by staff for a few minutes while they chatted. I caught ones eye and smiled. They didn't return the smile, just asked me what I wanted. She gave me a receipt with a number and just as I had turned around to wait for my food, my number got called. I actually said Wow- that's quick. When I looked behind the counter they had tons of wraps already made up and ready to go. How long had they been sitting there?
The food - ermm, it was a no for me. Yes there was chicken (2 pieces), there was a pita (cold not warm), there was tzatziki (much like I could buy in Sainsburys) and there was salad (a lot of Cucumber, 1 piece of onion, a few large chunks of tomato). I was hungry - I ate it. I'm still hungry! It left no impression on me apart from why did I spend £4.40 on it!
With so many different food places around here, a place really needs to stand out for me to return. I so wanted to love here, but it just wasn't for me. read more
