This was the first time that we stayed at Emerald Isle. We stayed at Peeble Beach Condos Bldg F, Room 210. The booking was easy and the pick up of keys was efficient. The Positives- Great location and easy to get to- minimal traffic and close to other things in the area. There are two well maintained outdoor pools Nice beach access for renters. Plenty of parking although none is assigned to a condo so the people staying close to the beachfront often had a hard time parking near there condo because people from further buildings had driven down to go to the beach. We know this because the other half of our family was in Bldg A. There is a great walking/biking trail right outside of this area that we used each morning. Well maintained by the Island. Cons- We paid about $1200 for a single bedroom non beachront place and it is in rough condition. I have rented beach places for 20+ years and know that renters can be rough- but this place needs to be painted and some upgrades due. Bathroom was in rough condition. Needs paint, ceiling damaged and vent was long past due to be cleaned. The queen mattress was 100% worn out. The plywood between the bed and box spring may have helped a while ago, but not now. There is obvious repairs from water damage to the ceilings that should really be fixed well. The AC unit worked but it is very loud. The evaporator fan in the closet in the condo got louder as the week went on. No icemaker or ice trays- Which is not a huge deal if you know beforehand. The sliding screen door to the balcony was being repaired by a guy when we got there and he was unable to fix. We didn't see him again but it was not a big deal. We just didn't use that side of the door to the balcony. There is a very small exercise room at the indoor pool area. However, the ac is either broken or there isn't any. There were a few dehumidifiers but the door was left open to the indoor pool area. I walked outside but that room would be unbearable if we had used it. I would go back to this company and this location but I would want more information and know the condition prior to paying that amount again.

We called about a maintenance issue (broken bed frame) yesterday that we had notified them about in February when we toured the home. Customer service did not call us back. We had to call them again today and they had no plan to fix it and no timeframe for it to be corrected. We also had to call about the trash as it hadn't been taken as per the rules of the house. We have a big family staying in this gorgeous, expensive house right on the beach (Chateau of the Isle). An entire bedroom is unusable. This is completely unacceptable. ETA They purchased and had delivered a new bed frame on Wednesday. We had a broken bed for 3 of 4 nights.

Do not rent from this company. Rented a house that was located at 123 Pinewood Circle Pine knoll shores NC. Aug 13th to the 20th 2021House was filthy was infested with cockroaches and spotted a Rat on the deck. Bluewater misrepresented the property on their website. Missing rails on deck, black mold was present throughout the property, particularly in the HVAC system. They claim it's not black mold but I would love to see the test results. However I am sure we will never see them. Additionally the house smelled of urine and the furniture was ripped and filthy. They claimed the owner was not willing to to refund us any money. The sad thing the owner is a medical doctor (Dr Richard Caswell) Bluewater gave us $1000 on a $5000 rental. I wanted a full refund but would of settled for $2500. Bluewater and the owner of this property have a total disregard for the health and safety of anyone who rents from them. I could list many more issues but I have wasted enough time dealing with this greedy company and property owner. By the way they continue to rent this dilapidated beach house, and is rented through the end of October. Be aware DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!! You will be sorry.

Nasty grill

Don't use this company! The property we rented for the week, called Seacluded Treehouse, sadly was not renter ready. It was apparent no one had done the inspection before we arrived. There was a pile of leaves at the front door, and yard debris on the deck and steps. Patio furniture looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. The grill that was listed as an amenity was not there. After a text and then a phone call, the next day, someone did come by and roll a dirty, rusted charcoal grill out of the locked owners garage. My husband tried to clean it up, but cooking grate was nothing but rust. Call to Bluewater next morning and left detailed message, but no response from them. I called again the next day, and someone said they would bring over a grill. That never happened. I had already sent them pics of nasty grill, dirty deck furniture, and yard waste by door and on deck. When I got home I sent an email and asked for some sort of compensation. I was told that the owner had been contacted and would not be giving us any compensation. We did get a discounted rate, it was preseason and bookings on the house were wide open. Supposedly, owner said because they gave us a discounted rate for the week we should not expect anything for the issues we had. I said I didn't realize we would expect lesser treatment just because we got a preseason discount. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because of location and decent interior of house. Bluewater and the homeowner obviously is not interested in repeat renters and good reviews! Look somewhere else for your vacation rental!!

We had a wonderful short stay at The Islander! Our room was clean and comfy and we enjoyed the Kurig! The beach access was awesome and laying in the hammock was a great way to end the day. Our only complaint would be that the daily maid service needs to be stepped up. Our room wasn't made up until 430p and our bed was just thrown together. If I had known that that was how they were going to make it, I would have done it myself. The housekeeping staff were also very loud and rude in the public areas. That was disappointing. Other than that, everything was great!

The rental company is completely indifferent to any issues that arise and can affect your vacation…read more We specifically rented a house with a heated pool for the kids to enjoy this year since Sept is historically cooler. Only to get there and the heating pump be BROKEN and never fixed while we were there. We were told "well it worked yesterday when we tested it!" The part never arrived, we were there for a total of 7 days. We had to call each time to check on progress, they didn't even have the decency of communication. We paid a premium for this house BECAUSE it has the option of a heated pool (many do not in this neighborhood, we know because we went to each house that does last year specifically to pick this house for this year), they could not have cared less. No attempts to make it right, no attempts to remedy, just shrugged shoulders that "these things happen." For $8,000 for 1 week, these things should NOT happen or at minimum a pro-rated rate should have been honored. Also, belongings went missing from our driveway moments after their team pulled the trash bin up to the street. At first we gave benefit of the doubt maybe they thought it was trash? Nope, we were told we were the first people to "ever" accuse their team of theft.... so if it wasn't them it could have been the numerous other people using our driveway as a public access to the beach. If you want a fully private house, driveway included, DO NOT RENT WISHING WHALE. All the houses from the cul-de-sac used OUR driveway to access the beach the ENTIRE week. Not one day went by that a stranger wasn't strolling down our driveway to cut through to the next door house's beach access. Either way, feels like a rental/community issue as we leave things outside every single year, and never ever had anything stolen from us. This is the first year we've had strangers meandering in our driveway. Seems suspicious. We thought this was a safe community. At other homes we used to leave the doors unlocked during the day for ease of the family, NOT AT THIS HOUSE, NOT WITH A BABY SLEEPING INSIDE AND STRANGERS ACCESSING OUR DRIVEWAY ALL DAY. We will be returning to EI Realty where they actually care about their renters and ensure our vacation and money is very well spent. It's a shame, we had a great 6 summer run with Spinnakers and would have had 30 more. But the bad taste in our mouth has us wanting nothing to do with this entire community. Such a shame because the homes and neighborhood are absolutely beautiful, tucked away in our favorite part of the island. But you are only as good as the company who represents you. Shame on you Mathias and shame on you SR.

BEWARE!!!! We stayed at Isle Getaway for the last 5 years…read more No issues. BUT. This year we arrive and find that the owner had put limits on the AC..and NO ONE had notified us, communicated with us.. NOTHING.! I thought I rented the Entire beach house ! Not just parts of it! ! We were stunned! This is a 4 story Beach house ,with 3 BR on the the 3 Rd floor! After a very hot, distressing night with very little sleep for all ,after the owner had " fixed" the controls . I had to go BACK to office the next morning ,to BEG Spinnaker's Reach and owner to help again. It was awful ! How did this happen that NO ONE spoke to me about this!????? BEFORE WE GOT TO THE HOUSE! We always been good guests. We do not leave the doors open. And I have gotten my deposit back each year! Like I said we have rented the same house for the Last years without AC controls!!!? The SR people did reach out to the owner again. And offered a portable AC unit for the bedroom that was the warmest. It has always been warmer than the rest of BR on the 3 floor! But what good would that have been for the rest of my guests? He did take off the all the controls the next morning ,! BUT I have been informed that next year!!! Temps only going down to 70?!? AT NIGHT!! . Be very AWARE. that this is happening

When we arrived, we were greeted by their welcoming staff and promptly gained access to our rental where we had crisp bedding, a super clean home and a nice welcome bag with everything we need to plan out our days. The property was beautiful and had all the space we needed. The views we had we're so nice too! We've rented from a few other companies in the past in other destinations, but we'll definitely keep using Emerald Isle Realty when we come back to Emerald Isle, NC. (Not Family matter). The pictures are the same as the day we signed the lease to less than 6 months moving to another location. While we followed the lease agreement and paid our dues. Do you handle all your rental agreements this way? Seems that you do if anyone was to read your reviews. The facts are the facts. Let's not make it personal Beth. Furthermore. Seeing that you keep referencing the "deposit money". The money we clearly told you at the end of our term when you said where would we like our deposit back? My husband and I clearly responded back keep the deposit. Per reading your reviews we knew we would not receive that money back regardless. We respectfully made that clear. Twice. I'm referencing to the text seen displayed in the image here you sent me last Friday. Which we did try to call you immediately after to discuss where is this said extra money of fees due? My husband talked to your receptionist because you wouldn't talk to him... My husband was inquiring about the extra $1,400.00 you were telling us you were taking us to collections for if we didn't pay. Your receptionist responded that was to cover damages previously done before we signed the lease with you. Which IS NOT YOUR CONCERN. Another reference you keep referring to. I lived in this home for almost 5yrs. before I signed on with you. The only itemized bill we received was from a professional cleaner for over $500. There was not communication attached with an invoice. Moving forward our Lawyer has advised us. If you do so decide in pursuing using our social security number to file a claim against us for being delinquent on this text. This is me responding. Read between the lines when renting a Spectrum property!! They told me, after we arrived at the…read moreproperty, that their policy is NOT to provide any basic supplies like dish soap, hand soap, sponge for cleaning the kitchen, more than one kitchen towel, and no extra trash bags (in our case, we only had one trash bag for seven people for four days!). At the high price point we were at, that is completely unheard of and very unprofessional. We have stayed in many similar homes across the country and have never seen such a cheap policy. So be aware - either plan a trip to the store when you get to a Spectrum rental, or bring all your own supplies from home! I'd rather be on the beach than running to the store for basic supplies - that is why we pay the higher prices! And it is not clear on their property descriptions, at least the ones that we saw, that you need to bring all your basic supplies from home. They did come out and fix a repair that needed to be made so we appreciated their efficiency in that area, and thus the reason for the added star.

Make sure you have enough Data because wifi connection is awful. The furniture is uncomfortable. Broken couches and all. The doors of the different rooms didn't shut well. Air conditioning worked well downstairs but upstairs was pretty warm.Had two remodeled bathrooms which were nice. Needs new refrigerator. Washer and dryer were brand new and worked well. Needs comfortable outside furniture. Parking could be a problem if you have more than two cars. I don't recommend this place unless they make such changes.
