He and his crew were scheduled to begin work on Monday, June 2nd, but failed to show without any communication. After waiting all morning, we reached out, and he said he'd come Tuesday. He did arrive then, removed the tile, and found mold--an expected issue in a shower. He said he'd return Wednesday to remediate the mold, but left early and claimed he needed to get supplies. Wednesday morning, he called to inform us his wife had a medical emergency, which we completely understood and sympathized with. He promised to return Thursday--then didn't show or contact us. Again, given the circumstances, we gave him the benefit of the doubt. He came Friday and treated the mold, stating he'd return Saturday to continue. Saturday came and went with no communication. On Sunday, he told us he'd be back Monday, which he was. He installed insulation and backer boards but said he'd return Tuesday to tape the seams. We're unsure why that couldn't have been done the same day, especially since he also didn't have the proper tool to remove the shower handle and instead worked around it. He skipped Tuesday, came Wednesday, and told us he had quick-drying seam tape and sealant so he could finish that and begin tiling. After applying the tape, he said he was going to pick up the tile--but never returned that day. On Thursday, he came back with the right tool and, while removing the shower handle, broke the copper regulator. He claimed it had rusted through, but copper doesn't rust. He said it was the manifold, but another plumber confirmed it wasn't and that the manifold wasn't even near that location. Shane texted us a quote for replacing the piece--including taking down the wall he had just put up. If he had completed tasks in the correct order, there would've been no need for demolition. We agreed to pay for the replacement part but not for removing and reinstalling the wall. After that, he stopped responding entirely. We waited through the weekend with no update and finally reached out again on Monday. He refused to fix the issue or finish the job and is now threatening to place a lien on our home for incomplete and poorly executed work. A second contractor has since reviewed what Shane did and confirmed that the work was sloppy--the backer board, tape, and sealant were improperly installed, and tile would never lay flat on the current surface. Do not hire this contractor. He will try to charge for work not agreed upon, ignore your concerns, and walk away if you don't comply--then still demand full payment.

I worked with Jesse and his team to finish a commercial remodeling project that another contractor…read morehad done a good job on, but abandoned the project at about 95% done. I paid Jesse $15k to finish this job, and he was aware of each element of the project including trim work, painting, and fixing the floors that were not glued down properly. We started the project well, and the work done on the crown molding looked good. They touched up some drywall texture and it looked really rough in certain areas, and was much heavier than the existing texture. It seemed the guys didn't really know what they were doing with texture. He did fix it somewhat, although there are still areas where you can visibly see it does not match. Also some of the doors/trim that were painted were done quickly with a very heavy textured brush, and should have been done with a light roller to match the others. But for the most part they fixed things we pointed out and they looked better by the end. Where the issues really came in was at the end. Jesse told us to blue tape everything that needed to be redone and we did. They then came and "fixed" it and removed the tape, however we noticed many of the things we taped looked the same and the tape had just been removed. We did that three or four times and there was still things that they were just removing tape on. I then walked it with him and he said he was going to fix the things I pointed out, including flooring that still needed to be glued back down. He then sent guys over and they didn't do any of the things we discussed. He told me to blue tape it AGAIN, and I said no that they are just removing the tape and not doing the work, but if he sends guys we will show them what to fix. Fast forward a few months, and the last few things we had taped were never fixed, floor tiles are still bubbling up that he was supposed to fix, and he says because he did "extra work" that he is no longer responsible to finish the actual job he contractually agreed to. (The "extra work" he referred to was putting in drywall ceiling instead of drop ceiling in a room addition. We had never discussed or agreed to a drop ceiling so I was going to cancel the job, but he agreed to switch it to keep the job.) I tried to come to an agreement with him and potentially give him more work if he finished the previous job. However he didn't even show up when he said he would to quote me on it, so at this point I'm just going to find a new contractor. I'm disappointed but I only want to work with people who keep their word and honor their contracts. Attached part of contract and screenshots of texts.

Never got my Mirror for guest bathroom. Never got my seat in my guest shower. Hand rails are way too big and bulky for my guest shower. And placed incorrectly.Towel rails are right above the toilet. Those need to be re placed with smaller rails. Never came back to finish unpainted door in master bathroom, and fuse box. Needs to come finish caucking around the tile and base trim. Left paint stains on my carpet and patio. Does not return my calls/text.

Unfinished Work, Poor Craftsmanship, and a False Lien Threat…read more I hired Ybarra Professional Builders to complete work in my home, including renovating the upstairs bathroom. While the project was technically completed, the quality was completely unacceptable. The bathroom sink leaks, and the grout in both the shower and floor is already coming up. I brought in licensed professionals to inspect the issues, and they confirmed the floor was improperly installed and the sink was not installed correctly either. Despite these clear defects, the company has refused to return and fix the problems. To make matters worse, I just received a Notice of Intent to File a Mechanic's Lien claiming I owe them $16,016.00--which is outrageous and completely false. They included charges for services they never performed, such as: Cabinet resurfacing (they did nothing to my kitchen cabinets) Interior painting (they partially painted my living room, which I already paid for--and even that was incomplete) I've kept all of my receipts and documented what was paid. I paid for the bathroom remodel, but it was done poorly and without accountability. There is absolutely no way they did $16,000 worth of work in my home. This feels like a scare tactic to get paid for work they didn't do or didn't do correctly. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They do not stand behind their work, and now I'm dealing with legal threats for charges that are clearly inflated and inaccurate. If you're considering using them--think twice and document everything. This experience has been stressful, costly, and incredibly disappointing.

Ybarra Professional Builders is a company that subcontracts jobs to multiple individuals without…read moretaking any responsibility for those jobs. I was approached by Ethan who was charismatic, personable and seemed to care about the project I was interested in. I wanted pavers on my driveway and a new concrete patio. Everything seemed to go well, perhaps taking a little longer than expected (but that was ok). The trouble started when the work was done. The ground settled and a tiny crack formed in the concrete. I contacted them in April to discuss the crack and puddling on the paver driveway. We got no response until May. Ethan finally said he would send someone to look at it. They came and within a couple of weeks two workers were here to fix the problems. Unfortunately, they made a bigger mess and eye sore than the original damage. I texted Ethan again with pictures of the "corrected" work and has since not heard from him or any representative from the Ybarra Professionals. I am very frustrated and disappointed that this happened. The only reason I am writing a public review is with the hope that Ybarra Professionals respond to my many calls and text messages.
