I would not recommend this dealership. Promised defective/deficiencies never done. Followup and response to calls and emails almost non-existent. Complaints to owner and manager were NEVER responded to. The car was done up to look better than it was and the whole thing from beginning to end felt amateur. To be honest, I have come away feeling they were unethical in the end. Parksville is a small town, word gets around, don't buy from these guys. Addendum - I just found a few reviews that were hidden on Yelp and there were some very similar experiences. I have purchased a Vehicle from Bluenose. At first i was very hesitant dealing with a dealership but once i met the owner Al, my experience with him had been fantastic. He was very helpful, considerate and honest! He has helped me through the whole process and made this a great experience for me. Al is a great person, and i would certainly do business with him again! I would recommend buying a car through him and would contact bluenose again when i am looking for another vehicle for myself, family and friends. The car has been good and the buying process was fine but get everything in writing. I was promised a replacement skid pan that was missing from the car and took the sales persons word that he would get me one. 16 months later I still don't have one and I gave up. I ended up purchasing an aftermarket one and installing it myself. They are great when you are purchasing a vehicle but after the sale is done no one seems to care. read more

On August 8th, 2016, I traveled from my home to Bluenose motors in Parksville BC to look at a vehicle that I was considering purchasing. This was to be the first major purchase since the death of my husband, several months earlier. He had often remarked that the dealership had a very good reputation so I felt that dealing with them would be my safest option. The salesman Carsten, assured me that the owner Al Cameron, stood behind the products that he sold and that they would do so with the car that I looked at. I ended up buying a 2006 HHR. The problems started even before I arrived back home. When I stopped to get something to eat, I could not lock the doors with the remote key lock, also know as a 'clicker'. The door locked but I couldn't get it to unlock and it took some time before the device worked. I contacted the salesman & he suggested that I change the battery in the clicker, which I did three times. When I informed him that it still didn't work he told me over the phone, that they would take care of it. I have made 5 (four hour) round trips up to the business since then with no results. Since then, the dash board lights have started to go on and off and the headlights & tail lights actually did shut off while I was traveling over the Malahat mountain on my way home one evening. They don't work on 'auto' anymore. Bells sound and I can't see what they are about. The icons flash off & on. I am not even sure that the lights stay on in manual mode. I can't get the owner Al to return my calls. I now feel that I am literally driving a 'death trap' and this is the only transportation that I have. I want this vehicle repaired or they take the car back & my money refunded. read more

Was contacted by the sales manager who noticed my car on kijiji. He asked if I would like to consign it and I agreed. After setting a price I waited approx. a month and then contacted him to see of there was any progress. I was told there was some interest and he would keep me updated. 2 days later I received an email asking me if I would lower my price by $1000 to make the deal happen, to which I agreed. The next day I went to pick up my cheque and all I received was an envelope with a cheque and no paperwork. This made me suspicious and after contacting the sales manager I convinced him to mail the paperwork to me which he said he would. 2 weeks later I hadn't received the paperwork and when it finally showed up it was mysteriously damaged removing some important information. I contacted ICBC to see when the deal went through and it happened the day before I was asked to lower my price, in other words he had made the deal and then tried to rip me off for $1000.00. After confronting him he tried to make some lame excuses which made no sense and then agreed to pay me the difference if I signed a letter stating I would pursue no further action.
