My boyfriend looooves sushi, so what better Christmas present than a Sushi 101 class?! Of course,…read moreonce I had the idea it occurred to me that it would be weird to send him alone, so last night we embarked on sushi adventure for two! We learned a delicious twist on edamame, what goes into miso soup, and how to cook sushi rice (not as straightforward as you think), then actually made our own maki and uramaki! Translation: Hand rolls with nori (seaweed) on the outside and inside-out rolls with rice on the outside. They also prepared tempura vegetables and gave us the secret to achieving that delicious light breading! Notes on the experience? For the sushi lover in your life, this is a MUST DO! I can't believe how lucky we are to have this talented team of culinary artists right here in Lexington! A sushi fanatic I am not, therefore I was (one of) the high-maintenance one(s) for whom they so kindly seared the tuna and salmon, but for that reason I would absolutely recommend it to ANYONE who enjoys sushi, even in a limited capacity! You get to keep your sushi paddle, mat, and chopsticks. They have beer and wine available for purchase, but you can also BYOB. In addition to the kitchen and seating areas there is a little retail section where you can shop, and they offer a wide variety of public classes, private classes, catering, events, and workshops year round. Thanks to Chef Allison and Chef Shawn for an entertaining, educational, and epicurious evening!

I've been battling serious health issues for almost 2 years. I'm wanting to go back as soon as I can! Wild Thyme is awesome!! I'm a good home cook ,but WT kicks it up a few notches!!

This was extremely important with me planning from out of state. There were no surprises once the menu and numbers were decided. The day of the party Renee and the crew got to work and made sure everything was not only delicious, but well presented. The food was amazing! A crowd favorite with my party was the hot brown appetizer and the bourbon brisket. All of it was fantastic, though, and absolutely nobody went back hungry. They have a great working relationship with the Buffalo Trace staff so other than table decorations that I had a crew working on, I had nothing to do. I got the bar package and the apple cider old fashioned was the favorite! We had many bourbon lovers present who know good old fashions and kept going back for more. I definitely recommend transport if you go for the bar package! I cannot emphasize enough how professional this company was to deal with and it truly made it possible for me to enjoy myself rather than worrying about details. The only thing is me trying to figure out what other events we can recreate this party for. I HIGHLY recommend!

It was disappointing to learn staff were discouraged from interacting with us, as their kindness was a highlight. Overall, the venue's approach limited what could have been a truly special evening.

I typically would not write a review as a guest, but I have to make an exception for the Apiary. My brother and his wife had their ceremony and reception here the weekend before last and it could not have been more perfect. Complimentary valet parking was available for the wedding and very appreciated. There isn't a ton of parking in the area so this is the perfect solution, especially on a rainy day. Valets were ready to go even when we arrived, about 45 minutes before the ceremony. Just remember cash to tip! The Apiary grounds and building are beautiful and well maintained with historical charm. The grounds were worth exploring with beautiful greenery, stone benches, and water features. The hard cover pavilion was the perfect spot for an outdoor wedding with protection from the rainy day. For a wedding of about 60 guests there was more than enough space. Inside, a lovely gathering room and bar area were comfortable for the time before and in between the festivities. The bridal party had a large cellar area to get ready. The bathrooms were conveniently located in between the ceremony site and reception room. The food here was absolutely amazing and truly on par with a meal at a fine dining restaurant. I live in Las Vegas and it was like eating at a fine restaurant here. The service was over the top with perfect timing and professionalism. The whole service team would line up to serve and remove courses at the same time. The attention to detail really added something to the event. Zero proof cocktails were offered to non-drinkers and the two children in attendance were provided special meals. Our meal started with Caesar Salads. It was one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had and a hearty portion. The Parker house rolls were warm and buttery. The Beef meal had delicious slices of tender beef, crispy potatoes, and green beans. The kid's meal was really tasty with both healthy options and foods kids typically love. The venue was on top of accommodating food allergies by asking each guest if they had allergies before the meal. The groom has food allergies and he was able to enjoy a lovely meal that evening. The Apiary sent an already beautiful event over the top. My brother and his wife made a fantastic choice in where to celebrate their big day.
