The trail also take you near a Children's Garden and a small memorial paying tribute to Lieutenant William H. Rust. The Park is pets friendly and open daily from 8:00am - dark. Amenities include a playground, basketball court, tennis court, baseball diamond and restrooms. There are several picnic tables and grills and also a pavilion available for rent. It was right in the heart of the area I grew up in Flint, and there were lots of things to do. There was a covered picnic area by the basketball courts. There are also tennis courts and buildings where you can put on a show if you want. You have to bring along your own game of horseshoes! A game of horseshoes? A game of horseshoes! That's right. There are lots of great areas for kids to play and families to unite. I mostly stayed in out of the heat because of my "condition", but I was happy because that's where the food was, including this yummy lemon cake that I ate two slices of. They also have public restrooms, not Port-a-Potties that are well maintained, for a park.

The museum is beautiful, free for general admission to Genesee county residents- non residents so pay a small admission fee.. special attractions and installations do have a separate entry fee even for local residents, but the mini g displays are really lovely so it's worth it.. before the renovation I toured the Titanic display several years ago and it was brilliant!! They've put in new displays and cultural features and kept the old charm, too.. Lots of stuff for families particularly for children.. if you like local history, this charming museum is it! They have a nice gift shop and a Coffee Beanery and free wifi, too.. Centrally located in the heart of the city's cultural center so it's close to other local tourism spots and highlights like Whiting, FIA, the library, Flint Institute of Music, Buick Gallery, Flint Youth Theatre, Applewood and Longway Planetarium, and Whaley . I really like the improvements- it's definitely changed for the better.

Throwing items from the grocery store, climbing and jumping on things , hitting each other with animals from the vet center, taking the mail from post office and throwing all over. Parents on cell phones not watching. When I informed staff member so no one got hurt, she acted like it was no big deal. We left because I didn't want my grandchildren to get hurt beca of this allowed behavior in the museum. What a shame that all staff sat at the desk chit chatting instead of stopping this behavior so everyone else could enjoy their day too.

This is a great little museum if you're in the Flint area, especially if you have younger children…read more(maybe ages 2 to 6). Pros: This museum has lots of hands-on on, accessible activities. We've been a few times when visiting family in the area and my son (age 4) always finds something to do. His favorite area tends to be the little town play area, which has a kid's size fire truck, post office, grocery store and restaurant. There are also areas for reading, science-oriented exhibits and other hands-on learning experiences. During the summer they also have a fun outdoor area for kids to try additional activities such as water rocket launches. The staff is also very nice and prices are reasonable. Tip: if you live in the area and plan to go more than twice a year, definitely get the family membership. Cons: it's on the smaller side and could be a little less exciting for older children. Bottom line: Definitely a bright spot in the Flint area. A great place to spend a couple of hours, young children will definitely be occupied.
