Took my pregnant dog in for an emergency c-section and she bled out. Vet killed my dog and all her puppies. This Vet should not be in business! She also neglected and killed 23 of her own horses. I wish I did'nt have to give a start for my information. read more

Jennafer Glaesemann, a practicing veterinarian at both Blue Valley Veterinary Clinic in Beatrice, NE USA and Pickrell Vet Clinic in Pickrell, NE USA, starved over 60 of her personal horses for months this summer resulting in at least 16 dead horses between her two veterinary properties. The remaining 39 horses in her care were in dire condition, starved nearly to death and in desperate need of immediate veterinary attention for injuries due to fighting for food and lack of any preventative veterinary care when they were finally transferred to safety at Epona horse rescue near Crete, NE. This horrifying neglect has been met with only misdemeanor charges, your help is needed to change that. As a veterinarian she should be held to a higher standard than your average horse owner, not a lower one. The 16+ murdered horses deserve justice and we won't stop until it happens. The severity of her actions should be recognized as felony livestock neglect, not merely misdemeanors. In Nebraska, where this occurred, the law states that "A person who intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly abandons or cruelly neglects a livestock animal is guilty of a Class I misdemeanor unless the abandonment or cruel neglect results in serious injury or illness or death of the livestock animal, in which case it is a Class IV felony." (Nebraska Revised Statute 54-903). Starving over 16 horses to death and burying them in a mass grave just before the county fair certainly qualifies as a class IV felony which would also result in her losing her license to practice veterinary medicine indefinitely. Someone who would do this to their own animals should never practice veterinary medicine again. read more

I had heard wonderful things about this veterinary practice; so, I called for an emergency appointment. My dog appeared to be in severe pain and had a horrible cough. She did a much more thorough examination than his normal vet had done a few weeks ago and diagnosed a heart murmur. She gave me a choice of a second opinion from a specialist or to try medication first. I took the medication route and within a day or two he seemed much better and her fee was half of what other vets charge here. Yes, the office is not as nice as the others in town; but, she is a wonderful veterinarian. read more

this vet, as others have mentioned, is NOT capable of good care because she couldn't rehab her horses with parvo, but yet the rescue had them looking great. The rescue said all they needed was food and water. Please do the right thing and seek other veterinary care! read more

According to newspaper accounts, 17 horses died of starvation and 37 others were starved but survived, all while under Jennafer Glaessemann's care. The 37 survivors were rescued and placed with an animal rescue organization for medical treatment and rehabilitation. While no formal charges were filed, I'd be very reluctant to take any animal to this veterinarian. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. Smells repulsive soon as you walk in and on hot humid days you can smell it before you open the door. It's dirty filthy and definately not sanitized. I can't believe a vet is allowed to do business this way. Her dogs are tied to the front desk all day and her horses are extremely emaciated, I believe they've been confiscated by local authorities. IF shes still in business and If you love your pet you'll go elsewhere. read more

The vet Jennefer is terrible with actual diagnosis but good enough at simple procedures. She has the bedside manner of a wet rag.

We were visiting family for Thanksgiving and our dog ran through a barbed wire fence. When we started to clean the cut we quickly realized she needed stitches immediately. We called hoping by chance they would be open (this is on Thanksgiving right at dinner time), magically the phone was answered. They weren't technically "open" but had a very reasonable emergency fee. She met us there within 30 minutes and handled our dog Arya with great care. Arya ended up needing to stay the night, after we rejoined our family we received a text message to join their secure messaging service where we got plenty of updates on her status, which was great. The stitches look great and she's recovering nicely. We are so grateful Dr Glaesemann was there, highly recommended! read more

My brother had taken his cat here once, & they seemed to care for his cat. I was only at the Vet's for like 10 min tho. So, when my 4 year old cat (at the time) became sick, I thought they'd be perfect. I didn't know any other Vet in town that I'd been to. They told me my cat had a urinary blockage and they'd have to relieve it. My pet stayed for 3 days. During the visit they would text me with updates. They said "No text from us is GOOD NEWS" I picked my cat up 3 days later and he was covered in urine. Head to toe. I know my cat, he doesn't just sit in his litter box. So why is he covered in urine? He was scared, very scared until I opened his carrier and as he saw me he immediately started to come out and purr. (This is breaking my heart as I type this. Currently in bed crying) They gave me meds and I went home. The bill was over $800. I paid it within a week. I'd spend over $10, 000 if it meant it'd save my cat. Fast forward 2 weeks. My cat starts showing the same signs he was showing before he went in. So that morning around 11 am, I took him back in. He was scared, not a scared look I'd EVER seen on him before. Now I understand why. On the way to the office I kept telling him to please hold on, I needed him here with me. I told him I loved him as I handed him over to the Vet. I did not know that'd be the last time I'd see him alive. The next 2 days they'd text me with updates. (All of which I've deleted because it's too upsetting to go back and read) It was looking good, kinda. 3rd day rolls around and they text me around noon saying that he hasn't urinated. Urinating was good news. He also wasnt eating much. This is strange, so I said to try canned food. He loved canned food. He was a pig when it came to it. They said that didn't work, either. I said I wanted to see him, he could be stressed and if I was there then he'd probably eat. I know he wouldnt be as stressed if I had been there with him. They said "No" They didn't have much staff to help with a visit. Really? I'd be in a room with my cat, you don't need anyone besides one person to set that up. I wouldn't of been a bother. I begged, I knew something was wrong. I hadn't been gone from my pet this long, I needed to see him. They finally said okay, I could come at 4. 1pm and they text me saying I needed to decide on a decision. My cat needed to have a catheter placed (which could be fatal) or continue meds and hope it works out (also fatal) or euthanasia. (They also recommended he be put down the FIRST VISIT with him. Not even 2 hours of him being there on his first visit and they recommended I put him down. I obviously refused) Anyway, at this point I was crying. I didn't know what to decide because either decision could end up with him passing away. But not doing anything could also end up badly. I didn't decide on anything, I wanted to wait till I seen him. I wish I had known how severe it was, I'd have chosen to push the catheter. I blame myself. 3pm comes and I'm getting dressed, excited to see my cat. I open my phone and had a missed call from the Vet and a text saying "Call is ASAP" My heart dropped to the floor. I ran upstairs and called them back. A man answered and said "Hold on" I asked if it was bad and he said "Hold on, I'll get the (Vet? Lady? I don't remember. it was all blurry) A lady answered and she said that my cat decided to leave us. I dropped to my knees. My cat passed away from a urinary bladder obstruction. I know that's not on the Vet, it's probably my fault & I will forever blame myself. I rushed to the Vet & was waiting in the lobby for 30 min while they prepared my pet for my goodbyes. I wasn't supposed to be saying goodbye at 4pm, I was supposed to be telling him that I love him and that I'd be there for him" Instead it was me kissing his cold body. The entire time, all I could hear were people laughing and loud ass dogs. I got a glimpse of the room he was kept in. It's small, crammed, and the dogs were kept in the same place as the cats. What hurts the most is knowing he passed away alone, without me, & listening to loud ass dogs while he was in his last moments. An hour later and I tell him my final goodbye and leave the room. I had already spoken with a Vet that I wanted him to be cremated. This is the part where it gets messy. I leave the room, crying and head for the door to go home & get the money for cremation. A man at the front asks if I'm coming back & I said "Yes" I come back with the $90 for cremation and he tells me he will "Call asap once his remains are back at the office" Apparently a lady does them. He said it could take weeks, I understood. 2 weeks later and no call about my pets ashes. So I call. They tell me that they've had his remains, but didn't call me to tell me I can pick him up because I still have an unpaid balance of $130. Are you fucking kidding me? I've just lost my best friend and I can't get his ashes back (that I've already paid for) over a small bill? there's more to say but no room read more

If you care about your animals, do not take them here. We have a year old GSD and he sustained a leg injury. They examined him and we were told it required surgery and so we had it done. Not only was the surgery to place a screw to fix the elbow unsuccessful, we were charged nearly double what we were told it would cost. On top of all of this, the vet completely overlooked the fact that he had a shoulder injury from the accident as well. This wasn't revealed until after we took him to a competent vet later on, after being told when he didn't get better that he would probably always have a limp and that it was normal. After treatment elsewhere i am happy to report he is now fully recovered, but no thanks to blue valley vet clinic. read more

This vet clinic is extremely poorly managed, but what has prompted me to write this review was an incident that took place today. Overnight, a horse belonging to my mother broke her leg, and subsequently needed to be euthanized. Immediately upon finding her in the morning, my mother called the vet at this clinic (about 8:30 am). The call was not returned for 45 minutes. She was told that the vet would be out there between 12:00 and 12:30, even though the horse was laying there suffering. Apparently routine appointments took priority. She didn't bother to even LEAVE the clinic until 1:00 pm, and didn't arrive until 2:00 pm, despite the fact that the clinic is not an hour away. This was nearly 2 HOURS later than she had SAID she would get there, which was already much later than it should have been. This is just the latest in a string up poor decisions. At one point, my mother showed up for a scheduled appointment for vaccines, and the vet didn't have the vaccines that she needed. My mother rescheduled for the one dog that wasn't able to get the vaccine. My father had to take the dog, and when he arrived, there was NO ONE THERE. The doors were locked and not even a receptionist was present. After this incident, my parents received a bill for the vaccines. My mother had paid for all four vaccines at the time of the first appointment and always pays at the time of service. From what I understand, the bill included a letter which informed them that the clinic had switched to a new billing program and somehow(?) had transferred the invoices, but not payments made. So the clinic's ingenious idea was to send a past due bill to all clients, and ask them to PROVE that they had paid for their services. I guess any cash clients would have been out of luck(?). From what I understand, the previous vet that owned this clinic was great, and my parents never had a problem with him. However, the current vet that bought the clinic when he retired needs a few lessons in business management. read more
