The staff is always very gentle with our cat. When they trim his nails they are lightning fast so he doesn't even have a chance to get mad. Gracie and I have lived in Lincoln for a year now and Suds n Scissors has been our groomer of choice for our entire time here. Wendy and her crew have always done an awesome job! TBH I was hesitant at first because of the other 1-star reviews but I took a chance because it is close to my work. I usually drop her off before work at about 8:30 even though she may have an appointment later in the day and I pick her up after work around 4 or 4:30. It is so convenient! I have never experienced the complaints in the other reviews. The team has always seemed to be gentle and loving with Gracie. As for length, we always discuss it before hand. She is a Maltese and I prefer to keep her hair shorter, especially in the summer. Just make sure to tell them what blade you want them to use. That is what I have done with of the groomers I have been to in other cities that I have lived. They do all the regular grooming stuff--bath, cut, nails, teeth, glands but my absolute favorite is the fun hair coloring!!! Do NOT take your dogs here!! We have two great shih tzu's with long hair. They said they would take off about half and we got them back totally shaved. I didn't even recognize one of my dogs and had them take him back to the back room because I thought there'd been a mistake. When we complained the owner was dismissive and argumentative. Please do NOT take your animals to this business. My daughter dropped her shi-tzu off on Thursday (March 6) to be groomed. When she got back to pick her up, she noticed she was highly agitated and she couldn't open her mouth. The groomers had broken her jaw!! The dog is 10 pounds!! Is that much force really necessary? My daughter called the owner from the vets office and she suggested the dog was brought in that way. The owner was gone by the time my daughter got back with the papers and x-rays from the vet. I hope more people read these reviews before going to this business. If we had, we wouldn't have gone there. read more

I have been grooming my dog myself for 2 years and decided to take him to a groomer to get a good hair cut. My dog can not be put in a kennel and also has some other special needs. I first went in to inquire if they would accommodate his special needs and I was told yes...and that they would NOT put him into a kennel. When I went to pick him up he seemed a little off. I asked the girls (they were not the ones that I dropped him off with and gave the instruction to) to tell me how his very first grooming went. They said it went pretty good except we found out he doesn't like kennels. WHAT??????? I told them that I had told the gal he couldn't be in a kennel!!!!!! They said she never told us that. They said he got his teeth stuck in the kennel and was yelping. They also said that they were not told about his other special needs! I immediately checked his teeth and gums. I am sure that he was traumatized by being put in a kennel! The lack of communication here is very unacceptable and extremely insensitive to my dog!! Sadly they have ruined my dogs first experience at a groomer!!! Needless to say I will NEVER go back and will NEVER recommend this place to anyone!! read more

Horrendous experience. I took my dog here because it is the cheapest in town. But it's true, I got what I paid for. The store is filthy. The owner told me my dog would be ready at 2:30 ("and, remember, we close at 3!"). I showed up promptly at 2:30pm, and after being ignored for 15 minutes, the owner finally came out of the back room (always careful to shut the door behind her) and said my dog would be 25 more minutes. I said, "Oh, gosh, I would have appreciated a call." She snapped back, "I haven't had time!" It was 45 minutes before she delivered my dog, and he looked atrocious. His haircut was obviously rushed, uneven all over; his ears weren't cleaned out; his nails weren't cut. If I hadn't been so pissed and foaming at the mouth, I would have asked for my money back. I can't even communicate how absolutely unsatisfied this experience was. Not only did he look terrible, he had to stay in a kennel all day waiting for his terrible haircut. Go to Precious Pets instead -- spend $10 extra and your dog gets to play with the groomers and the dogs, the dogs are groomed right out in front of you instead of behind a secret door, he'll look professional and clean when he comes home, and you'll get a call if it's taking longer than expected. I've tried 4 different groomers in Lincoln -- this is by a TREMENDOUS margin the absolute worst. read more
