The groomer, Kelly, does not try to make your dog feel welcomed nor does she let them out to potty. She has no idea how to manage a puppy. In fact she called us and asked us to return so we could hold our puppy because our lil pooch would not stay still. Even after my spouse left work to help her groom our puppy she did a terrible job. It didn't even look like our dog was groomed. She assured me when I called she was familiar with my breed dog and was capable of managing a 6mos old pup. I do not recommend her services. It was a terrible experience.

Our very hyper active Wheaten Terrier puppy, Monte, has not had the best of luck with getting groomed in the past. In fact, one of the groomers in our town (will not mention any names), refused working with him because he was "difficult." Saying he was biting the bather, although he has never exhibited anger towards anyone in the past, and being "impossible to groom." They were not even nice to my husband and I telling us we aren't doing enough to correct his behavior. Nervous to try another groomer due to our unpleasant experiences elsewhere, we began searching for another place to bring him. I called Pampered Pets fall of this year, explaining to them that we have a Wheaten who has been kicked out of our former groomer, hates the bath and we don't know what to do. They reassured us that they have a lot of experience working with this breed and it's not just him, but most Wheatens are a touch more sensitive to getting groomed; they are not always the biggest fans, but need someone who is going to be patient with them and give them the time to open up to it. We brought him in, had another conversation with the staff letting them know our previous experiences, stayed in the area in case they could not handle him and so on. We were so nervous they were going to call us within a 1/2 hour telling us to come pick him up! They told us that they would call us if they needed extra time, or had any troubles, but reassured us that they would take the time Monte needed to get a good grooming. They called, needed extra time.. which is okay! We appreciated that...Take all the time you need! Picked him up about 2.5hrs after drop off and he looked the best he EVER looked. They gave us a great progress report, no he was not biting, yes he hates the bath and being restrained, which we knew.. but otherwise, he is a kind, lovable pup! Told us a few things we could do to help his insecurities, which we have been working on... but to not worry, he is not UNgroomable! Also, important to note, Monte's demeanor after his first time at Pampered Pets was WAY different than when we used to pick him up from the groomer in town. He was our tail waggin', happy puppy versus having blood shot eyes, anxious and scared like he was after his other grooming sessions. We took him back on 12/23 to get his Christmas haircut and let me just tell you... he was in and out within 2 hours, a record breaking appointment! They said he did great, he's getting used to it more. He was giving kisses! He was calmER!! Still have to work on a few things, but he was a good dog!!!! It made our WEEK! And he looked AMAZING!!!!!! Monte will never go to another groomer so long as Pampered Pets is around! They are wonderful. Positive, kind, patient, helpful, easy to talk to.. just what you want out of your groomer AND MORE. We feel confident in leaving Monte there, knowing he is in good hands. So, thank you Pampered Pets! You guys rock! Highly recommend them for all your grooming needs.

Feeling exasperated I reached out to NPO and they were so enormously kind and uplifting to my deflated new-dog-mom spirit but more importantly they were very helpful and extremely patient with my pups needs. One quick nail trim and we were on our way. Huge relief on my end. I should have reached out to Natural Pet Oasis from the get-go rather than trying to do it myself. He does like Hemlock because the owners pay him attention, allow him to free-feed as he prefers and keep him out of bad weather. The atmosphere here is quiet and the owners seem knowledgeable and genuinely fond of their guests. They have a very old cat on premises, whose presence attests to their animal affection. The place appears clean and is set back from the highway (or on what passes for a highway near Bethlehem). The rate is $40 per night, about par for the area, and there are grooming facilities available if you're interested.
