Do not do business with this company. I made the mistake of getting Solar through them in 2023. The company is untrustworthy. My contract has a provision where BRS, as a condition of the contract, would cover the first 18 months of solar loan payments. First payment received Jan/2024 - Payments ceased being reliable in Jul/2024.. Currently I have not recieved the agreed payment since end of November/2024... with several missing in between. Based on CALENDER, I should have recieved 14 payments to date (Feb/2025), to day I have only recieved nine (9). I call and the company lies that checks were processed.. then two weeks later say they were delayed in the mail. Calling Customer Service only continues to aggravate cuz they are incompetent and will have the accounting department contact you - which I have never received a call back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!! I WISH I HAD NEVER DONE BUSINESS WITH THEM. I would absolutely never use them again! Not only is the solar not covering the amount of energy we were told would that multiple panels are malfunctioning and it is taking them forever to even come out and fix them and then when they did come out and fix them they wanted to charge us to fix them play we were inside there two year warranty. But it took them so long to come out it fell outside. They claimed to your warranty and wanted to charge us an exorbitant amount for their technicians to come out, which is supposed to be covered under their agreement I now have an Idaho power bill along with a solar bill payment if I could give them -5 stars !!!! read more

Deceitful and Disrespectful Customer Service with No honor for their own warranty. I want to preface this posting by saying I will be researching and utilizing every legal avenue of creating some form of punishment for this company or hopefully shutting them down completely. I have no respect for the treatment of their customers and the dishonesty posted directly on their website. It has become obvious that their care for their customers is non-existent. Our system was installed in July 2023. Less than 2 years ago. According to Blue Raven and posted proudly on their website, still under warranty. Naturally, as it is less than 2 years since my install date I would never have assumed that anyone other than Blue Raven would need to be called to have my system repaired or checked especially when mid-morning we went from normal production to 0 production on then entire system. However, I was wrong and Blue Raven has made it clear to me they do not value me as a customer nor do they even tell the truth when selling their systems. On May 2, 2025 we received an email from Enphase that our system is producing lower than usual. While we weren't too worried about that since it has been cloudy and rainy we checked the production on the Enlighten App and sure enough it was lower than normal...in fact for an entire week we had absolutely 0 production from any of our 13 panels. Why it took a week for this alert to be sent out I will never know. However, I tried calling support from Blue Raven, but it was after hours, and they didn't answer. Enphase has 24/7 support, so I called them, and they did some diagnostics and told us that the microinverters were not seeing an AC voltage and therefore were not producing energy. They informed me that a technician would need to go on-stie and check my system for any issues with the microinverters or possibly other parts of the system and told me I would need to call Blue Raven, my installer. Disappointing but understandable. First thing, Monday (May5 ) morning, I called Blue Raven to request a technician. The representative was very helpful and told me it is normally 3-5 business days before someone can get scheduled and send them to my house. Everything sounded great and I happily waited for a call later that week to schedule an appointment. Hours later, an email was sent by the manager saying they have no resources in our area. This is where things began to spiral and have absolutely no confidence in Blue Raven as a respectable company. I did not see this email until, once again, after Blue Raven's business hours. How is it that Blue Raven sold me a solar panel system in an area that they do not have resources to service? Why is it my job to find someone to fulfill their responsibility or honor their own warranty? If they don't have the resources, then it is not my responsibility to do their job for them. I was furious that this email was even acceptable for a company to send and just pawn their customers off with that amount of disrespect. Then to have the audacity to tell me that any warranties would still be in effect when clearly, they do not uphold the warranty that they provide. Worst customer service in my entire life. In addition, whatever form/email Mr. Thomas said he was going to send was never received by us. I called back Tuesday morning very upset. I told the representative about the email telling me that I had to do his job for him and that I would not be doing anything that it is their responsibility to do for their customers. Of course, the representative had no answers for me and would only tell me that I lived outside of Blue Raven's service area. Excuse me? How do I live outside of your service area when you knocked on my door and sold me this system? How did you expect to uphold any warranty when you can't even send a person to my house? I can't believe a company would call this professional. I have been sold snake oil not a warranty. I then find out that not only had they sent me the previous email, but they had additionally cancelled my work order with absolutely no intention of servicing my less than 2-year-old broken system! Furious doesn't begin to describe how I feel now. It was only after much arguing with the representative that he finally talked to what he called the "Validation Team" and they confirmed that my system was still under warranty and he created another work order to service my system as is their responsibility to do so. It is not my fault you sold me a system outside of your service area when you knocked on my door to sell it. They told me it would be 3-5 business days once again and I said I would call back on Friday to see what the status was. Unfortunately, I forgot to call Friday (May 9) due to work so I called Monday (May 12), the representative told me that they were having meetings an would schedule a technician in 3-5 business days. They do a great job selling it to you. but their product is bad and follow up service is worse. Low quality product, expensive service which does not fix the problem. I have paid for service tech and I still have 4 bad panels. Did not even look at them and only stayed an hour. They told me the service fee of 400 is for each time he rolls out to the site, even if he does not fix anything. Even if he orders parts it is 400 to roll back and put them on, which he did not order since he was only here an hour and did not look at the panels. So 400 for just the visit. read more

We started this process in August 21, 2024. The company could not get the contract correct finally after 5 times they got it. Also they kept sending us the wrong city's Power company documentation which again took 4-5 times. Then they had not team to put our panels on in Boise because everyone was quitting. That should have been our clue. Kept going finally on November 12, 2024 the team showed up from Pocatello. They were the only great thing about this business. Failed our final inspection because they could not get the correct plans to the City inspector. On January 9, 2025 we finally passed and Idaho Power was here to install the meter. We sent the the final payment over 3 week ago with an adjustment because we could not claim most of the cost this year on taxes. Not cashed our check and again they never respond. I hired them to install solar panels for me because the salesman promised a lot. They did not deliver on the sales promises. The system took forever to install like over 6 months. We missed the entire summer of solar production. During the delays, I was promised that I would be financially compensated for lost solar production, then when the project was complete, they decided to not do that. I had to personally manage the subcontractors that Blue Raven hired. This took weeks of scheduling, emailing, and phone calling. I had to manage the city inspections myself. And I was sent bills for the subcontracted work that was supposed to be covered in the Blue Raven contract. Once the project was complete, we realized that they did not even install what they promised. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

While I was busy working in my garage last Thurs, a door-to-door sales rep from Boise Blue Raven Solar showed up unexpectedly and talked to me about the benefits of his company's solar systems and warned me about the Idaho Power rate increase plans. I told him I am not interested but he insisted I should meet with his company's expert next week for a FYI educational meeting and promised me the meeting will be free, no obligation & short. Today, the 'FYI expert' showed up and told me I will be suffocated with power bills if I don't go Solar. I told him I am not interested in installing one. He immediately became upset, unfriendly & unprofessional. He abruptly ended the so-called 'FYI meeting', walked out impolitely and told me loud & clear that I am wasting his time. Predatory financing BEWARE. Its all smoke and mirrors and then they ask you to give back the 26% tax credit or your monthly bill will go up. Their plan had a majority of the panels on the East roof, which you never do. Their quote came in almost double what other local companies quoted me and he wanted me to sign it in front of him. There were also incentives for writing reviews on Google and a $250 referral fee, thanks but when you quote me over $100,000 for solar that's an insult. Do your homework and get multiple bids and check with the Better Business Bureau and read the reviews. read more

I had a marketplace sale on FB and person Who was at my house for the purchase asked if we would be interested in solar panels for the house. We said we would and took time out of our busy schedule, provided our power usage stats and scheduled a rep to come out and look. We did and were told we would get a call back. Nothing.... Then again, I reached out to the original guy who set us up and he said he would sees what's up. Nothing.... We wanted to wait to review BRS before leaving an honest review. I have been doing my own research and was planning on reaching out. Our appointment was awesome! We had Andrew come out and answer all our questions! They took care of literally everything for us, including permission with HOA and contacting city for our final check and codes etc. We were told it would take half a day for installation. They were way quicker than that! Maybe 2-3 hours. They install a smart thermostat in your home too, and give a bunch of LED bulbs (which we don't need because we already have LED everywhere, but was nice to receive.) The panels look AWESOME up there too! We we're anxiously waiting our power bill, crossing our fingers hoping this investment was actually going to help us and see the promised results. Our first power bill was about 50% lower than what it should have been. We had our panels installed mid month so figured it was because the panels didn't collect a full month's worth of energy yet. And we were right! Three months in a row, we have received a $5 statement from the power company!!! The $5 is for the hookup charges etc. We are so incredibly pleased! Our power bill through the summers are between $120-160, depending on the summer heat and how much we compromise our comfort with the HVAC. After a solar payments we are SAVING up to $80 a month! The only downside I have is that they finance through a bank called goodleap, who we quickly found out is not trustworthy at all. I recommend using your own finance options through your bank or credit card company (IE balance transfer checks. Literally same interest rate if you signed up for goodleap auto draft.) I definitely recommend BRS. Everyone we talked to and worked with was so nice and friendly, and completely honest with us! I wish I would have done this sooner! read more

When the Blue Raven guys knocked on my door a few years ago they offered a free inspection and quote and I obliged. After the inspection I was told that my roof had major degranulation and would likely need to be replaced in the next year or two. They told me one of the benefits of going with Blue Raven is that when that time comes they are responsible for coming and removing and reinstalling the panels and that is included in my cost whenever I decide to do that. I can only speak to my experience. Got Solar panels from blue rave a year ago. They are producing 20% of my usage every month. Including fall and spring months. Blue Rave support refuse to send anyone out or remove the panels. If you want to be stuck with your power bill, a solar bill and 30k in debt, go with blue raven. read more

My fiance' signed a contract to install solar on our home last year. The installation began January 2022. We are now in April after a failed inspection from the city and yet, another delay. The company they use to prepare homes for the installation came out and lopped the ends off of our 40' tall blue spruce in the backyard. The branches die to the trunk when trimmed improperly and there are 3 huge branches affected. I have called, emailed, called, emailed, called....well, you get the point. I was guaranteed a phone call back BEFORE the installation occurred, and I'm still trying to chase ANYONE down who will respond to me. Now I'm in the unfortunate position of having a contract with a contractor for very expensive equipment for years. PLEASE look at other options and save yourself a huge headache and hassle for years to come. read more

Customer Support for this company is lacking in both knowledge and empathy for your installed system after 2 years of ownership, this could be the current staff they hired or the company no longer cares for their existing customer systems? My system stopped reporting data 4 months ago (I'm not sure if its working correctly at this point, although the power company indicates power is being produced I'm not certain how much from each panel), so I called Blue Raven customer support. The support person told me that I had to call SolarEdge (the website where you can see your solar panel production details) as its not their problem. There was no further discussion about my system and no indication that they would send a technician out to check my system. The Blue Raven support person did not provide any further help, but reluctantly agreed to contact SolarEdge and open up a support ticket with them. Not feeling like the call went well (lack of empathy and a care less attitude from their customer support person), I open a ticket with SolarEdge, of which they promptly got back to me and said my system was no longer sending data from my site and to contact Blue Raven. This is where I'm now getting very upset, Blue Raven took no accountability with my first phone call, the support person could have asked me to take a look at the panel on the side of my home and see if the system is providing any output details. That would have taken all of about 2 minutes instead of the "you have to call SolarEdge" and speak to them. That is total BS coming from Blue Raven support! Furthermore when a company does not take any accountability for what was installed in a customers home you must ask this question "do I want to do business with them". Blue Raven has no idea if a customers panels are working or not, they don't seem like they care, after all it's the customers system not theirs. This is apathy at its worst, if you want help once your system is online and they got your money in their pocket - I wish you all the best of Luck! P.S. I would like to understand why, at his time under the State of Idaho Governor's "State At Home Order", Blue Raven sales associates going door-to-door sales in some developments in the southwest ADA County. It seems this both contrary to that order and when standing on someone's front porch they are less they the 6 foot "social distancing" space that has been put in place by city, county and state. My wife and I moved here from CA a couple years ago. We assumed hooking up solar was the normal thing to do when buying a home, since California utilities are SUPER expensive! We were surprised that this market hasn't embraced solar as much as we thought, considering Boise is such a sunny area. After sending our info through a couple 'go solar' social media ads, we received about 4 quotes from a few brokers. I was surprised how little these 'experts' were in understanding the benefits. All of them tried positioning different panel brands, bells and whistles, and other unnecessary product features. None of them listened to my priorities and what was important to me. They just wanted to throw a price at me, and force a timeline on us. I've had solar before in CA, and I know what to look for, and what to avoid. Everyone I talked to was someone to avoid, so I put solar on the back burner for about a year. Thankfully, about a year ago, a colleague of mine said they had a great experience with Blue Raven Solar, and I thought I'd give them a shot. I called their rep, and he was absolutely awesome. He focused on the custom nature of the solar system, prioritized what I needed, and literally gave me a thorough consultation. More importantly, he treated me like a long term client, not a customer invoice, and he came off as very credible and trustworthy. When we started the project, everything went through incredibly fast. The support team was very proactive in giving me updates and moving the project along, the install crew knocked out my installation in less than a day, and MOST IMPORTANTLY once my system was up and turned on, they kept checking in to make sure I understood how to monitor my system, made sure I was prepared with the financing, and knew what to expect with my utility relationship. No surprises, no over promising, and super friendly and helpful staff from start to finish. An awesome company! Footnote: Any negative complaints regarding solar are usually due to lack of education, lack of communication, and/or lack of understanding. Do your own homework, ask the right questions, and confirm you're getting the right answers. No sustainable organization purposely misleads or deceives. Really disappointed by the quote process with Blue Raven. During the pandemic, I scheduled a zoom consultation. The salesperson arrived at my door without a mask. I told him that I was not comfortable meeting like this, and he told me that I don't need to be worried anymore. The only concern is regarding gathering in large groups. This is not true. This violates CDC guidelines and Idaho's current second stage of the rebound initiative. When I challenged his assertions, he asked if I was a nurse or something. I've read great reviews about this company, but I'm not comfortable working with them based on these sales tactics. read more
