Contrary to other reviews, Blue Moon Pizza has delicious pizza, and being from New York I know delicious pizza. Every time my family comes to Cape May we make sure to order pizza from this pizzeria, and have it delivered right to the beach. On this specific trip, we tried two white pizzas. The first pizza that my family ordered was the Bruschetta pizza. It has fresh tomatoes and onions. The freshness of the pizza is VERY apparent. This pizza is very delicious. The second pizza I tried was the Margherita pizza. Also delicious and fresh. I definitely recommend that you order pizza from this restaurant. You definitely won't be disappointed. read more

After a particularly boozy wedding reception, we made the wise choice to leave the after-party a bit early in search of some alcohol-soaking carbs. Someone working the front desk at our hotel recommended Blue Moon for delivery, and our pepperoni pie was delivered to our room in a very timely manner. Stopped in on day 1 of vacation for lunch and have returned for lunch everyday since! The gluten-free pizza is amazing and salads are fresh. Extensive menu options (especially for gluten-free- it's hard to decide!) at affordable prices. Excellent customer service - servers and staff are extremely accommodating, nice and welcoming. Surprisingly good pizza! I live in north jersey and work in nyc so my standards are high. This pizza has a good crust--medium thickness with bubbly edges--and really hits the spot after a day at the beach. Another treat : falafel is quite tasty and fresh. read more

honestly i loved their plain pizza, but my brother not so much. they were friendly and it didn't take long at all, but what i think they could improve is the actual restaurant itself. for example, maybe make the place a bit bigger, but i know it does share space with a clothing store. but i think the could paint the walls one color, instead of purple and pink. maybe a dark gray. also improve the seats because i found them a bit confusing. anyway great pizza. read more

I was extremely hungry and visited this place hoping for some good pizza. I ordered a few slices, and they were not hot at all. The cheese slices tasted pretty good, but the Pepperoni tasted pretty nasty. If it were hot, that may have helped, but it was still a pretty nasty pepperoni. I'm not sure if it's a cheap brand they use, or just old, but I wouldn't get the pepperoni. Ambiance inside is typical. It's a little on the grungy side. read more

I went there very recently and had fantastic pizza! My friend and I shared a slice of spinach pizza and a slice of tomato. Oh yes it was sooooo good! My family and I love this place!!! It's only a short walk from the beach: extra convenient. The pizza is amazing and it usually is not too crowded. The workers are OK, they have never bothered us but have never made attempts to be extra nice or friendly to customers. My friend and I came into town around 11pm and were looking for some good food. The only places open were a few bars that were over crowded. 5 places later with nothing to show, we ended up at this pizza place and were greeted by two people. We each got a couple of slices and soda. I got the cheese steak pizza and plain cheese. They were hot and yummy. It did the job. It reminds me of boardwalk pizza, meets neighborhood pizzeria. We ate here because it was the only place open late(ish) at night. Just from looking, you can tell the pizza will be bad. And it is. It's too thick, dry yet gloppy. Just terrible. Make sure you get dinner before 10pm so you are not stuck eating here. read more

This place has got to be the best pizza places I've been to in Cape May. I'm from the city and I'm used to good pizza, and this place has got it. We had the cheese and buffalo chicken pizzas and both were great. They cook the pizzas in house and heat them in an oven and I got a fresh hot pie every time. The staff is also very friendly- our server Zac kept us entertained the whole night and gave us the inside scoop on what to order! I would definitely come back to this place every time I come back to cape May- I was here for four days and ended up going twice. The place is also open till 3am so after a day at the beach or a night at the mall, this place is one of the only places open in cape May after midnight. It's also right across from the beach and I hear they also deliver. Would definitely recommend to anyone and I don't know where those bad reviewers ate, but it wasn't here. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat during the off-season. Coming from NY we know our pizza, this was not pizza. I give credit for the oversized slices and 5.99 special for 2 slices and a soda but that's about it. My 5yr old ate her slice but I was done after a few bites. I have walked by this place a 100 times as I visit cape may at least once a year. Granted I am always here during the off season (although it was mega busy this week until today). I walk in and there is no attendant, this is @ 2pm on a tuesday (day after columbus day)... ok, fair enough, but they have a video system so I figure they are watching... nah. I wait a few minutes (after grabbing a water from the fridge), check out the offerings (seems like a plethora a foo foo pies, I am a more of an originalist when it comes to pizza but don't mind the odd white pie or such) and a gentleman finally walks forward from the back, I told him I just wanted a plain slice to go (meaning give me a bag I want to eat this elsewhere, like hey, across the street overlooking the beach), he seemed confused by the simplicity of my request and it took a few requests for him to get my simple order, not sure if it was a language thing or what, he wasn't rude but wasn't seemingly paying attention or aware, to be fair the slices are "boardwalk" slices, surely a Jersey thing, or sometimes NYC thing, pieces that are too far large to be one slice, but that's fine, what bothered me was the pizza looked ok enough .. but then.. then.. came the conveyor belt oven treatment, oy... what the hell, this is NJ, have some pride, my slice did not convey on the conveyor once, not twice... and no not thrice !.... 4 times... oh boy the regret started to sink in but I was determined to get a damn slice already (I was out on the beach all day and needed something to bridge me to dinner), so finally the slice was "ready" by his standards, and he said "$3.50 anything else"... he looked surprised by me holding up the water (I am honest), so it was $4.50 for the whole deal, he handed me my bwalk slice on a paper plate.. so I decided to eat in house (no one else there anyway). I settle in and take some bites, the slice is barely warmed after the many tours under the conveyor, the only positive I can muster is it was certainly not greasy, after that? bland city, a little tang from the sauce, but doughy (probably because it was not cooked enough), and then you get down to the crust which is always the crux, and doughy/flour, again probably because of not being cooked to peak... is this bad pizza? eh. extremely average in a state that expects more ? yes. read more

I ordered two large pizzas to be delivered to the beach at Queen Street - have done this before and even though the pizza's are very expensive it has been worth it. Not this last weekend !!! 42.00 dollars for two large pizza's (one with pepperoni) and one with bacon and mushrooms) - I stood on the boardwalk for an hour waiting - called to make sure they knew where they were going- the girl taking the orders is not competent -she started taking my order again and then said they were on their way - then I finally got a call from the driver and he was beside himself because I don't believe he got the correct information on where to deliver. Went here because a nice young lady gave us a menu on the beach. The menu is large and diverse. That's where the good new ends. Although the two guys working the counter were friendly and polite the pizza was wrong, not very good and the music was awful. Nothing like sitting down for pizza with night club jams going on. When we arrived to pick up our order, we were informed that they'd forgotten about our calzone and our small pizza, so we had to wait for the rushed, haphazard mess to barely cook while the rest of our food sat in a brown bag getting cold and soggy. Instead of making good on the mistake, the manager was defensive and practically yelled at us, offering such meager appeasements as starting the whole order over again (which would have meant waiting another 40+ minutes), or canceling the whole order for our money back. Absurd. The result was a meal of soggy fries and barely cooked, under-sauced pizza, most of which ended up in the trash. A colossal waste of ingredients, money and time. DO NOT EAT HERE ! I ordered a greek salad, it was the worse salad I've ever paid for. Wilted lettuce, the tomatoes were soft and had been sliced for sandwiches, not chunked for salad. The "kalamata" olives were canned, sliced black olives. I asked for dressing on the side, they gave me a packet of Italian dressing. The cucumbers were few and far between and were soft and old. RUN AWAY! Go to Jake's, Three Brothers, Tony's--anywhere but here! The manager is a supreme jerk and the customer service as well as the food is horrendous. I have given them three chances to get it right, (due to the convenient location), and still no improvement. The first time--told order up in 20 minutes, but upon arrival, they couldn't find it. Waited an additional 25 minutes to receive order only to discover IT WAS WRONG! Chicken cheesesteak was made with beef and devoid of cheese, no dressing on salad, or anywhere to be found, fries came instead of mozzarella sticks, etc. Told they were soooo busy and sorry. Gave it another shot. Second time--told order up in 30 minutes; arrived in 20 to find order sitting on top of "slice" warming oven. Was told it "just came up." Everything was congealed and soggy. Needless to say, it didn't "just come up." Its location made us give it one last try. Final time--told order up in 45 minutes; arrived 35 minutes later. Order came up, but missing several items. I was told they were very busy and were just now putting up the rest of our order and it would just be about 5 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, while the rest of the order got soggy and lukewarm, the manager confronted me and actually raised his voice and said that "Mistakes happen and people forget!" I suppose this was his idea of an apology?! He then offered me a free soda while I waited. How about some money off my bill moron? As I contemplated canceling the order entirely and going elsewhere after waiting a solid hour since I called, the food finally arrived--the items that sat waiting for the rest of the order were inedible, the food we waited for was undercooked and equally inedible. In the end, we payed over $60 for garbage and aggravation. No apology whatsoever from management, just a shoulder shrug. They are moving to a new location--don't follow them--don't even visit "once in a blue moon." It simply isn't worth it! read more
