This place has remained so consistently great in the 25 years it has been open. When I walked in today, every employee was dressed up in dim Christmas attire and super friendly. It seemed they like really love working there. I picked up a Cape Fear rum cake because they are unbelievably good. The store is so clean and you can find something for everyone. Will never go back. Visited Blue Moon Gift Shop on 8/3/2025 and was horrified to see what appeared to be counterfeit Coco Chanel jewelry being sold by one of the vendors. I noticed several red flags that suggest the jewelry was not authentic. The pieces were noticeably lightweight and felt cheaply made, unlike the substantial, well-crafted pieces characteristic of genuine Chanel jewelry. The "CHANEL" logos and stamps on the items were poorly etched and unclear, a common sign of counterfeit goods. The prices for these items were far below what one would expect for genuine designer jewelry, which immediately raised suspicion. read more

You come here to find specialized and local items that you can't get elsewhere, or hard to find elsewhere. You are not really getting any bargains, but you can score some cool stuff. A great place to find just about anything, it reminds me of Cape Cod Crafters ( in the north) . It is a shop filled with shops , you can find food to bird houses to clothing or Wilmington made soaps and much more. It's the perfect place to find a gift for anyone. One "booth" was Coastal Tides Soaps and Candles. They have beautiful soaps with wonderful scents . Candles smell amazing and men's shaving needs too. The Dead Sea Clay Bar ; cooling peppermint and eucalyptus caught my eye, I'm trying this one. I also found a cute hand towel gift for friends that just got married in another booth . I went in with my service dog...an employee harassed me for having my well behaved service dog. She proceeded to demand more information than allowed by law, and followed me through the entire store and even out the door. She informed me, when the demand and following didn't get her results, that my dog must be right beside me (yes, he always is, and leashed thank you) claiming the aisles are too small. If you have issues with having a service dog, in violation of many laws, it might be a good idea to train your employees not to behave in such a horrible manner. I have been in many stores, I have not been treated so horribly with my service dog. read more

It was okay. The first gallery, that is stand alone, is pretty amazing but you pay for that! They have amazing things but only a few can afford it. The rest of the place is one small venue after another and soon, they all start looking the same. Blue Moon brings more than 100 separate artists together under one roof, offering everything from your standard "mom clothes," ceramics, and artwork to more unusual handcrafted items like upcycled accessories, unique jewelry and one-of-a-kind trinketry (my sister's word for all the cool looking yet purposeless items she has scattered about her home). Like any gifty type place in Wilmington, there's enough beach house decor in Blue Moon to outfit all of Wrightsville, but the aesthetics vary widely here. In addition to more traditional craft styles, you'll find everything from punk to whimsy to modern. If you plan to visit, give yourself some time - the building is massive and even on my third time around I was still finding things I'd missed. Also, while I wouldn't say Blue Moon carries nothing for the dude in your life, most of the crafts here appeal to those of the female persuasion. This unique baby and children's boutique has lots to love. The Tutu dresses are handmade, unique and beautiful the come with a matching headband. They have the only collection, I know of, in Wilmington of Newborn Photography outfits ranging from handmade Minnie Mouse, A Puppy, Bunnies (in several colors), Turtle, Snail, Baby Owl, 2 different Sock Monkey's (one in Grey and one in Pink), Brown Monkey and more. They carry many fancy dresses and none that I have ever seen around town. They also have a very large collection of summer hats and even hand knit or crocheted winter hats in the form of animal like owl's and rabbits. If you catch the owner in the store she will give you a good discount. There are dress up costumes for boys as well as outfits and hats. They have a very large collection of Fedora's some with sequins and some with printed designs. There are also Fairy Wings, toys, shoes and handmade sandals.
