Guests are asked to store purse/bags in a locked locker (guest carries key on bracelet while shopping) -or respectfully leave purses and bags in vehicle. Items stolen were too large to fit into a locked case-but sadly not too big for an oversized bag. Next time you're in Wilmington look up this beautiful shop.

I told her I was not comfortable doing that and that if it was going to be a problem I'd leave. She looked at the other woman behind the counter who shook her head at me. I asked if they would rather me leave than have my business and they looked at each other and re-emphasized that I would have to put my purse in a locker. I told them I guess they aren't interested in getting my business and left. This was a Saturday, mid day and their parking lot was empty!! Also, for reference, I was not bringing in a large bag or purse. To the contrary...I have a tiny, crossbody bag that barely contains my wallet. I have never been treated so disgustingly in my life. These women are clearly not interested in the business of many as you will see here in the reviews they habitually make potential customers feel unwelcome and like criminals for merely stepping into the establishment! It was a great event and eclectic venue with multiple small businesses participating including a real estate office, massage therapist and photographer. The interior of this shop is gorgeously decorated with bygone artifacts and the ambiance is enhanced by retro music. Jess and her associate are gentle and welcoming, which makes one want to linger and admire everything. That particular day, they were having what they refer to as yard sales. There was a rack of clothing outside the front door that was marked down to five dollars. I landed an adorable 70's dress that I look forward to wearing to an upcoming tea party. Outside the back door, there were several racks of clothes and a table of accessories on sale. Jess had refreshing drinks and coffee for her customers as well. Then, I found this 1930's bed jacket. It looks smashing with leggings and a tee.....I know this because I wore it to hear jazz on Sunday night. I felt like the bee's knees. I am looking forward to attending the shop's holiday party on December 9.....and more shopping! Another Castle street favorite!

They have great prices and amazing vintage and antique items. This was one of the highlight stops in Wilmington area and when I visit again, I'll be back here! Tip: Take time when here and look carefully. There is a ton of items shoved into corners, on shelves and hiding behind leaning photos. It's a treasure hunt. Some items aren't necessarily vintage but a majority are vintage, handmade, or older.
