I'm late writing this review for the gang who are now my friends at Blue Moon. I started "ADV" riding many years ago. I was a young guy at the time. In my 20s and buying a BMW GS and not a sport bike. It was a little unheard of. So this review is from past and current experiences with Stephen and all the Blue Moon Staff. I had traveled a lot and wanted to start experiencing new places on 2 wheels. I did my research on bikes. Decided on a used GS. I searched for one I could afford. Found one local at Blue Moon. I went to look at the bike and the staff at Blue Moon was very helpful. They let me test ride the bike. A 2006 GS. They explained the specs and lay out. (It was my first BMW.) They even knew the history of the bike I was buying. It was a trade in from regular customer. It was a very positive research and test ride experience. After I decided to buy the bike. Stephen told me to go grab lunch and come back and he wold have all the paper ready. I did just that. Had my lunch then arrived back at the dealer. As I was told, everything was a go. Paper work was ready and the bike was ready to roll. I put a lot of miles on that bike. Had it serviced at Blue Moon and I was always taken care of. Ive since bought and sold many other bikes. I will always use Blue Moon for my BMW moto needs. No reason to doubt them. Ive been happy with my sales and service experience and over the years developed a great relationship with the staff up at Blue Moon. Its a cool shop with nice folks. True motorcycle riders. . i bought a new ural gear up from these guys... they sold me a motorcycle without the spare tire that these bikes normally come with. as depicted in their advertising both pictures and in writing. but when i bought it and sent my credit card lo and behold it did not come with a spare tire? about a $2500 value if you can find one they are totally unavailable..... these guys are liers and con artists. i regret that i did not buy a ural from an honest dealer that does not play stupid dog and pony show games. if you likes to be ripped off and dicked around blue moon motorcycles is your place to go. good luck to you. but try to watch your wallet! also the thing is totally fucked up bolts and screws stripped all over the place. my first ride with less than 50 miles on this bike the front caliper fell off and nearly caused a catstophic accident. this is the worst motorcycle dealer in the world!!! they over torqued under torqued... everything on this bike. great bike wish i bought it elsewhere!!!!! read more

This was the WORSE customer service I've ever experienced in a VERY long time. The "parts" guy, I believe his name was Charlie was a complete moron. I will NEVER go back. Although, the very short dark-haired lady who greeted me immediately when I entered was super nice. She actually witnessed Charlie's abnormal behavior and later apologized as I was leaving the building. If I could rate zero stars, I would. All I wanted was a replacement shield for my helmet. I was assured by Lisa that the title and paperwork would be express mailed to me the next day. 4 months later still no title , they won't answer calls from me, the better business bureau, my attorney or the Georgia tag office. Starting my search for an R1200R I decided to hit up two of Atlanta's BMW dealers on a sweltering Friday afternoon. The first place was disappointing as I couldn't get an employee to talk to me. Luckily Blue Moon made up for that with their friendly attitude. Blue Moon appears to be more than just a place to buy bikes at. They've got this gorgeous, HUGE building with an immense service garage. Above the showroom is a mini-museum of vintage bikes that you're welcome to walk around and peek at. They've also got a large selection of accessories - and, I know this has nothing to do with bikes, but it's nice to see that the accessory section of the selling area was blocked off by a few make-shift walls. Whoever laid out the floor plan put some thought into the aesthetics. It doesn't feel like the general, walmart "here's a big room with everything for sale" in it. It feels more natural. Of course the ambiance is matched by the salesmen. After letting me walk around for a minute or two a salesman came up to me and talked to me about the R1200R. He was knowledgeable about the changes made in the recent model year, let me sit on the bike, offered a test ride ... and didn't run away when I let him know I wasn't buying until I sold my current rides. Found just the bike I was looking for and it turned out it was at Blue Moon Cycle. Coordinated the purchase over the phone with Stephen of a 2008 Harley-Davidson Cross Bones that had been traded in. I worked out a plan to fly to Atlanta and ride her (she's named Lucy now) home. Between the time of putting a down payment and flying to pick up the bike, Stephen realized that the back tire wasn't up to the trip and had it and the rear brake pads replaced, no charge. Then, when I got to Atlanta, he picked me up at the MARTA station. Great experience and when the bike got to Hacienda Harley-Davidson in Scottsdale, AZ everything checked out when they did the end to end as part of the 10K service. The week after the box full of everything else that came with the bike came, so now I can take passengers and swap back to the stock handlebars if I like. HORRIBLE customer service/care. I brought a bike in for consignment sale from a very long distance. I described the bike on the phone to John in great detail so there would be no surprises as I knew there would be some work to do and that was understood and agreed to. I called the day before to make sure all was still good. I show up and they said NO, we only have one tech, we do not have the time to do anything with it. Are you kidding me!!! Who treats people this way? The most unprofessional business I have dealt with in ages. HORRIBLE. Total disregard for the customer and I cleared it all up front. Go elsewhere. I'd give zero if I could!! Edit Note: Tim was the A-hole I dealt with in the shop after first speaking to John in the phone. I'm guessing he never actually spoke to John, though he said he did. Also, he lied to me about the number of service techs they have; he said only one but I have learned that is not true. I hear Tim is relatively new and nobody likes him. Not trying to be personal but he is bad for business. I can vouch for that. read more

The WORST customer SERVICE experience I've EVER experienced. so terrible that this is my first YELP Review. went there a day after Christmas to see about getting my Son's 2022 KTM serviced and possibly repaired. A kind gentleman (whose name we didn't get), came out to help us and informed us that they'd be able to handle the service if we brought the parts to them. 5 to 10 Minutes After being helped, we were rudely interrupted and rushed out of the store. The kind guy, noticeably upset with the rudeness of the former guy left helping us and we were pushed outside. Once outside I asked who he was and why did he rudely interrupt us and kicked us out? He Said he was the OWNER and that SERVICE was closed and they need to closed the shop. Mind you this is @1pm in the afternoon. It was apparent this guy had SERIOUS issues, so I CLEARLY told him this was RUDE, disrespectful, and TERRIBLE us timer service. Something an "OWNER" should already know. I took PHOTOs of the SHOP and began writing this YELP review. If anyone I'd considering buying from BLUE MOON CYCLEs, looking to purchase PARTs, or have their motorcycle serviced, DO NOT GO NEAR this place, it's the WORST business I've ever experienced as a CUSTOMER. If JOHN is the OWNER then his business needs to FOLD. We left and will NEVER return to this place, unless I return to write another NEGATIVE review to discourage ANYBODY from patronizing Again, DO NOT GO NEAR this place, you will NOT be pleased. read more

John, Lisa, Sam and Dan really care about you as their customer, and my Ural ran better after the service as well--they know what they're doing with these unique machines! Brought a couple of my vintage bikes, a 1940 Zundapp and a 1960 Maico to Blue Moon to have some things sorted out. While there, I saw a motorcycle that I'd never heard of, Tornax. After talking with John about it, and thinking, I decided the Tornax had to come home with me. John made me a fair deal for both of us, and told me they'd get her out of the museum and ready to ride. Today I picked the Tornax up and rode her for the first time. Unbelievable! Sam and the guys did a great job getting it ready, new battery, fresh fuel (premix) cleaned and serviced, and my V175 is now at home! And props to Lisa, who helped me get the bike registered and tagged so I can show it off at bike night! This is a wonderful place. It's hard to find a shop willing to work on older bikes, much less sell them. I'm really happy with both the service and sales depts. I'll be a customer of both from now on! read more

I purchased my first bike from Blue Moon (a used bmw g650gs), and Stephen was extremely helpful both on the phone and in person. A week or so after the sale he called to check in on me to make sure I was still happy with my purchase. There was a little trouble getting my tag, but Candy dutifully called the tag department and kept me in the loop that she was working on it. She figured out the problem and I am still happy with my purchase. I haven't visited the service department, but their sales team is top notch and I wouldn't hesitate to return to them. read more

Really disappointed with their service. Bought a used gas tank over eBay from them. At first, they wouldn't take the return. Then I reminded them that they listed a 14 day return policy. Returned it because it didn't fit. Then they said there would be a restocking fee which they said they would call me back on how much, but never did. Then, John claimed that the tank had been dropped. I then said, send me pictures because I packaged it really well and I had insurance on the shipping. He then said it was dropped before shipping which was simply not true. Had to do a credit card charge back since that was the easiest way for me to deal with them at this point. I would not recommend doing business with them to anyone. read more

I've called repeatedly to buy a Denfeld seat for my R69S and Charley, the parts man, has never answered the phone or returned my calls. I've left several messages explaining what I want to buy (listed in their online catalog) - all to no avail; and this poor service is BEFORE they have my money. This is a difficult review for me to write. I'm an avid motorcycle enthusiast and I really make an effort to support local businesses that don't fit into the "typical" dealership mold. I readily admit (especially in the face of multiple glowing reviews) that I could be wrong and possibly had a "fluke" experience. I'm glad to see that so many others have enjoyed their experience here as I have had less than stellar feelings about it. I've been into Blue Moon 3 different times and have had the same experience each and every time - I walk in and am greeted by a guy at the computer behind the desk. He seems nice and genuine so I make myself busy while they finish up whatever they're doing. I love to browse so I'm caught up looking at the bikes and notice 10-15 minutes have passed. I glance at my watch and wonder.... "do they know that I'm here?". I actually appreciate dealerships that don't pester their customers so I walk to the front to inquire about something. 2/3 times that I've been there I was essentially ignored at this point. The first time I waited 15 minutes for the employee to finish up chatting with a regular (not mad at that, I've been there and done that) to get a short reply and no more help. The other times similarly ended with me wondering why I drove 30 minutes to this place. ** Why did I go back? because it's the closest BMW dealer to my house and I really wanted to develop a good relationship with a service center before I buy a BMW** Full disclosure: I've been responsibly riding motorcycles for nearly 11 years, however I am a younger guy (28 but I look younger). I'm making a huge assumption here, but It's possibly because I look like a squid who can't afford a BMW. I've noticed that older guys have no problem being treated like valued customers upon entering Blue Moon. I'm hoping Blue moon may see this and decide to invest time into their younger customer base. I will be buying a BMW in a few months from another dealer. read more

I bought a Zero FXS from Dylan at Blue Moon Cycle, and it was one of the most stress-free purchases I've ever made. Dylan was accommodating and went out of his way to let me test ride a few Zero bikes before I nailed down which one I liked the most, even when we were close to their closing time. The deal was straightforward, easy and fair, and they offered me a fair amount for my trade where another used dealer refused to even discuss the relative worth of the bike. If you aren't into Zero electric motorcycles, I'll question your sanity but will tell you to visit them regardless because they have some of the most well-kept antique BMW motorcycles I've seen, including a gorgeous R12 that I've only ever seen in a certain museum in Munich. Also a Hercules with a wankel-powered engine. And an old WWII "motorcycle" with tank treads. ...Actually Blue Moon Cycle is a museum in of itself so you owe it a visit regardless. I never write bad reviews, but I passed up a deal on another bike for this one. I was personally shown a bike by the owner and shown the price and when I called to make a deal he then said it now wasn't for sale. Not good business practices, not a particularly nice guy either. I came form another state to look at their inventory, I won't waste my time going out of my way to bring them business again. No wonder they have so many bad reviews. No wonder they aren't a BMW dealership anymore, poor customer service. read more

German engineering sabotaged by incompetent fools with a roll of Duct tape. Avoid their service department! I took my '06 1200GS in for some major work. A couple of the engine seals were leaking between the engine and transmission.(a common problem with the 1200s- a repair that most BMW dealerships have performed many times) I picked up my bike a week later and headed home. About a mile from the shop I got up to about 50 miles/hr and all of a sudden the side panel flung out to the side hitting me in the leg. I pulled over to figure out what was going on- the mechanics hadn't properly reattached the fasteners on the panels and the whole thing caught the wind and folded out breaking and bending all the parts it was attached to. I limped the bike back to the shop and the shop manager apologized and promised to order all the parts right away. Needless to say, my bike was out of commission for a couple more weeks until I got all the parts. I had to call the shop a couple times to check on the status of parts- they never called me once to give me updates or tell me parts didn't show up when they thought they would. After I got the parts I decided to reassemble the bike myself. As I did I found several screws and fasteners that were half way in, or installed incorrectly. AND... to top it off, 1 panel that I guess they couldn't get to install properly had rolled up pieces of duct tape inserted around the edges to keep it in place! read more

Took brand new 2010 MV Agusta for warranty, waited over 7 weeks for parts, dealer let bike outside in pollen and hail storm. During wait I dropped off two $24.00 of coolant to be put in bike for upcoming trackday and requested they put it in. Blue Moon charged me an hour of labor to install. 5 weeks later I check coolant pre-ride only to find the original stock blue coolant in bike. (Stock=blue, Engine Ice=Purple). Not only did they keep the coolant, but also charged me the labor to put it in!! During the warranty work they managed to re-install the left fork tube upside down with the R for rebound upside down and the +/- adjustments upside down as well. They also hacked up the fork tube in the process as they crammed it up through the triple tree. The owner threatened the service manager and I that he would not work on my bike as a result of my complaint. BE AWARE, READ REVIEWS ELSEWHERE!!! I'm not the only one! read more

My husband and I went to Blue Moon Cycle to pickup a part for a BMW motorcycle that my husband owned. While there, we purchased a newer BMW bike that supposedly was John's personal motorcycle. Was led to believe this was a "buy of a lifetime" and unfortunately, we were none the wiser. When I asked if we had any negotiating power, the salesman left us to go and talk with John to see if there was anyway to come down on the price a bit.When he came back, he said that John was actually angry that he was selling the bike. That should have raised a red flag then as the bike was on the sales floor with a price tag attached. We negotiated, offering them slightly less than the selling price and they accepted, with the stipulation we give them an additional $500 which would be returned to us when my husband brought his BMW for them to sell on consignment. There's one born everyday and this was their lucky day. With their help, we loaded the bike on our trailer. We didn't make it six miles and horns started blowing at us. We realized the front tire had shifted and the bike was weaving from side to side. We were stopped on the busy highway for over thirty minutes trying to secure the bike. Once home, I looked at their website and there was the bike my husband had bought listed for $1,000 less than what we paid! I immediately called and was told that it was a typo by the person in charge of postings. Do I think they are honest? No. Do I think they are reputable? No. Would I refer them to anyone else? No. Would I ever purchase anything ever again from them? No. Will we ever take my husband's BMW bike for them to sell? No. Will we kiss the $500 good faith offer goodbye? Yes. If I could give it zero stars I would. They have wasted my time and money since I've been using them in the past could of days. I dropped a grand on my bike (which they say runs fine every time I go to pick it up) and as soon as I get home or go to work it doesn't even want to start. And that's after he left me with no gas after I left, because he was "testing" it to see how it rode. Luckily my roommate was following me and there was a gas station across the street. Now I do have a Kawasaki Ninja zx-7r and I know they do mainly BMW bikes but the mechanic there told me and the owner personally that it was okay and he knew what he was doing. Which was flat out wrong. I went to this place because of location convenience, but I would not suggest this place to anyone. Now I'll have to tow my bike to a REAL shop. read more

Well I live in Virginia so I am seldom in this area. But in May I bought a new R1200RT. I immediately rode to Atlanta to visit family. The "break in service" is required between 500 and 1100 miles. That meant I had to do it on the road. After a search of dealers in the SE and some phone calls I scheduled this service at Blue Moon. They got me in and out promptly and while waiting I was treated to touring their showroom which doubles as a museum (and a very good one). Great experience all the way around. read more
