I've been a customer on and off for many years but have finally given up. MSP claims to work on metric bikes but apparently only metric bikes newer than 2000. Interesting business model for a "full service" bike shop but that's their decision. If you own a classic machine, you're out of luck. Apparently working on a bike (removing the wheels) on a 1975 Kawasaki 400 triple to replace the tires is not something the owner is comfortable doing. Even selling me the tubes, tires and a battery to get my business wasn't an option. Just bring in the wheels and they will mount tires. I saved money and mail ordered the parts and broke out my tire irons. Done. Freddie up front has always been fantastic to work with and has a positive attitude but unfortunately he's not the only one answering the phone. The owner can be very moody and short. I wasn't even sure I had dialed the correct number when he answered the phone. If you're looking for a full service bike shop experience with positive energy, MSP may not be the place for you. I wish them luck but I will not be returning. read more

MSP is, hands down, the best motorcycle shop in Atlanta. I've taken a dozen bikes in to them over the years, and they've given me great service on everything from vintage bikes to cruisers to modern sportbikes. Here's a small sample of bikes they have helped me with: 1978 Honda CB750 - diagnose and fix electrical gremlins 1996 Honda Magna 750 - fixed overheating problem 1984 Yamaha RZ350 - ultrasonic carb clean, brake fluid and coolant flush 1965 Honda Super 90 - they got this guy running in about a week. I'd been struggling along for almost 6 months. 2004 Honda 599 - replace reg/rec 2007 Yamaha XT225 - rebuild front forks I'm pretty sure there is nothing they can't do. The service has always been excellent, their turnaround is fast, and their prices are more than fair. I've never had a problem, and, moreover, I know that if anything did come up, Freddie, the owner, is the kind of person that would bend over backwards to help a fellow rider. I was lucky to have a fellow Ducati rider recommend this shop to me when I got my first Monster. This recommendation has proven to be priceless because over the last few years coming to MSP has saved me money, time, and frustration compared to what my experiences have been with the dealerships around here. They have taken great care of my daily commuting 40k+mile Ducati Monster since its first maintenance, as well as doing a superb job of race preparation and suspension services on my Triumph 675. At this point I trust the guys at MSP to the point that I would rather pay to have them perform warranty work than trust any of the local dealers. They will have it done faster and will have been more meticulous covered than at any dealership. read more

I've several good experiences with MSP over the years, but recently I took my bike in and they were unable to fix it, insisting that it was running right when I picked it up (which everyone else that looked at it could tell as soon as the bike started just by the sound). I didn't bother to take it back in since if they thought it was fixed they were not going to be able to do any better.. Really cool guys to shoot the breeze with. I've only been in once but they are friendly and will talk shop, which is nice for someone who does light work on his own bike. Had them do tires and a tune-up; they got the work done in a timely manner and it was, from what I have heard people say about other people's prices, very cheap. I also have a pretty rare Italian bike and the Euro bike guy was pretty familiar with it and they even kept some of the more common parts in stock (not something that can be said about the dealer). Screw going all the way up to the dealer. These guys are specialists, are fairly priced, convenient and a lot more friendly than the dealer. read more

Took my motorcycle that had been sitting around over the winter to MSP Cycle today to get my carburator flushed. Spoke to someone on the phone who told me it would be a few hundred dollars, closer to $500. It's a lot of money but I like riding so I was willing to pay for that. Took my bike over and when the guy I had spoken to earlier took a look at my bike he said that he wouldn't do anything unless I spent a $1000 to buy a new tire and fix some other things. Get this, he REFUSED to even fix my carburator and told me to come back when I could spend a $1000!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? Talk about no customer service. I could not believe it. The message to me is that you need to spend a lot of money at MSP to get them to work on your bike. Well, I can tell you that I nor any of my friends and family will go to MSP. read more

This is a great local motorcycle service shop. I bring my Suzuki here whenever I need work done that I can't do myself. They also have good prices on Michelin tires and their mounting/balancing fees are very reasonable. In fact, I'd MUCH rather bring my bike to the guys at MSP than any of the local dealers. They're friendly, fast and their rates are good. What more could you ask for? I do know they work on all Japanese makes. And I've definitely seen Triumphs and Ducatis awaiting service when I've been in there. I don't know if they handle BMWs or HDs. Might want to call first if you own one of those brands. And while they definitely specialize in prepping race bikes, I bring my streetbike to them (an 03 SV1000) and would trust them to do absolutely any repair or upgrade. I can't say enough about MSP! I have a 2000 Yamaha Vmax with fuel problems since I bought it used. I got the bike running but not well. I had spent hundreds of dollars having the carbs rebuilt at another place and still did not run right. Once I got my bike to MSP I felt immediately comfortable. The mechanic and Freddie called me and found a rusty gas tank as well as the fact the rubber seals had not replaced? Ethanol damage! Therefore the bike never had a fighting chance. Freddie gave me an estimate and stuck to it. The bike has never run better than ever and I will have it for years to come. MSP will be my only MC shop. read more

I feel bad for not writing this review sooner! I thought I had already! Look, I live in Austell so the drive to get my bike serviced here is about 35 minutes. I will do it every time. I will not allow anyone else to touch my bike. So this is the second bike I've owned that I've had serviced there. The first was a FZ1. I now own a Yamaha Raider. While it's a 2016, it was right out of the box new when I bought it at the beginning of CoVid. So at 600 miles I took it to these guys. Their customer service is excellent. Tom was the mechanic that serviced my bike. When I went to pick it up he came out to explain to me a couple of things. The price is reasonable. I tried to get an appointment at a dealer or shop closer but it was going to take another 2 weeks just to get my bike in. I'm so glad! It made me drive to these guys. I "think" this shop specializes in racing bikes; not sure about that so don't let that statement deter you if you own a cruiser or touring bike. My bike's a cruiser and I feel safe and confident knowing it's serviced here. You will not be disappointed - give this shop your business! This place is awesome. They did an amazing job on my bike, and the charge was surprisingly low. I had my bike covered but outside fro a couple years. I finally was in a spot to send it in for repairs. By that time it needed more than electrical work it was down for to begin with. They got it fixed and running perfectly. They even went over and above, shining up the chrome around the engine etc. that would of been hard to get to after they put it all back together. Shawn worked on my bike and his attention to detail was great. I have taken my bike back there several times and plan on doing so with all future needs. I cant recommend them enough. read more

That is about the time MSP opened up and let me say that it was a relief to find a shop that was honest, knowledgable and gave a damn about customer service. Really like this repair shop. Came here a couple years ago to get tires put on my bike. They did it while I waited. Came here today to get an oil change. Again, they did it while I waited. Very good prices on both procedures. Will come back to get some other work done early next year. Also, very glad that it is intown and close to my house and job. read more

MSP Cycle fixed the electric problems I was having with my '07 Kawasaki Vulcan. They did the annual maintenance, fluids and filters and a new back tire. I got my bike back in days instead of weeks, way cheaper than with the other repair shops I've tried inside the perimeter and they kept calling me to keep me up to date on all details. I have a new bike! Well, not really but it sure feels like it after these guys straightened it out. Turns out I threw them a real curve ball (misfiring caused by electrical noise from a new, cheap, stator I put in) and they stuck with it and figured it out. They also made some other repairs, and did a factory service. Rod contacted me throughout, even as he was pulling his hair out, to keep me up to speed. I couldn't be more pleased. I am sorry for this review. I had been taking my V Star there for 5 years. At the 12K service they "synced my carbs and adjusted my valves". 2500+ miles later I thought I had gotten bad gas so I took it back in and when I asked them to drain the tank, drain the carbs and replace the fuel filter I was told that I was "diagnosing my bike in his shop, it was still not running properly" and they had "put it outside, had moved on to other bikes and would work on it again in two days". I went and picked up the bike, paid them for the work done and took it to a dealer. The dealer stated it had only been running on one carb and re-synced them. The dealer had to replace the rubber block-off tube at the top of the carbs where the vacuum gauge plugs in as it had been torn (1st part of vacuum leak); the dealer noted that the hose running side to side below the air box had been misrouted, that two others had not been re-connected (more vacuum leak) and that there were cracks running all the way through the intake boots at the base of both carbs (which should have been replaced at the 12k service- More vacuum leak). I told the dealer that the valve tappet cover was spitting oil onto my side cover. The dealer noted that two of the bolts were stripped and that the o-ring had not been replaced during the aforementioned 12K service. After they had finished the 12K service I asked this shop to balance my front tire and was told that "tire balance doesn't come in to play until you hit 90 miles on hour." The dealer noted that it was out of balance and had numerous loose spokes. read more

This by far has been the WORST experience ever in dealing with a repair shop!!!!! Brought my CBR in to have the gear shift fixed , stator cover resealed and a front to back diagnosis done. I was told it would take 7-10 days for the bolt to come in ( it's 2015 I can order a pack of pencils from groupon and get it in 3 days!!). I called two days later to get a status on what was found during the diagnostic and was told "the list was too long so we just stopped" WTF!!! The purpose was see what needed to be done (regardless of the length of the list). You are a repair shop, if I'm willing to pay for the work what does the amount of work that needs to be done have to do with it?Just do the work!! The mechanic then called me and said he had trouble putting the bolt on and so "that's all I'm going to do in this bike", again WTF!! So because it took longer to fix one part he just decided for himself that it wasn't worth it to fix the other agreed upon services (stator cover, and replacing the fluids). All the while telling me what was wrong and he didn't feel it was worth it, again if the CUSTOMER feels it is, then IT IS!! Your shop would then benefit from doing potentially $1000's worth of work.i get the sense that they have so many bikes to work on, that they can pick and choose what they feel is "worthy". I wasted two weeks of my bike being in their shop when I could have taken it to someone who wanted the business!! read more
