The property feels a bit old and it's not really near anything, with the main perk being the shuttle to/from the airport. Rooms and common areas were pretty clean, and it covered the basic necessities. Breakfast and dinner were decent, but there weren't many vegetarian options and the variety was limited (though not terrible). Service was good, which helped. I wouldn't go out of my way to book it, but if you're being placed here by an airline (Delta/KLM) due to a disruption, it's not a bad option for a night.

KLM booked a room here as part of an accommodation including dinner and free shuttle from airport. I paid for a taxi given the wait for the free shuttle -35 Euros for a 10 minute ride and worth it. The space is massive and is divided into two sections for rooms. Higher room numbers closer to reception and lower closer to the dining room. If your card won't work on the elevator you're not in the right section. Part of my accommodation was dinner at the Hotel's "World Buffet." I'm not a big fan of buffets so I asked at reception about it -I was assured this was one of the best buffets given his experience at multiple hotels. There was food from around the world as stated-Local, Asian, Indian, salad bar, dessert with cake and ice cream and espresso machines. I will say it was very good by Buffet standards (that said, given the full day of travel issues, most anything would've tasted good) & although I didn't pay, price is close to 40 Euros. They have a nice Bar with a Pool table and plenty of TVs for sports viewing, My room was a single with two comfortable twin beds and was just the right size. Mini fridge, safe, iron and free bottle of water were also included. The big and pleasant surprise was the indoor pool, Gym and spa amenities. Gym is open 24/7 and has all you need for a great workout. Not only did they have a dry sauna and steam room, they also had a Sanarium. (not as hot as a dry Sauna)-just what the Dr. ordered after a long travel day! Service was friendly and upbeat despite the very busy day given the travel issues. I could see planes taking off from my room but couldn't hear them & not too much close by. A good one for an overnight and if you need to be close to Schipol.

We arrived at 5:00 am during prime time sleeping hours, but I was told it starts at €40. They have discounts around 2:00pm, but it is only by availability. You can call ahead, but make sure you pick the right Mercure hotel. I overheard one customer being upset for booking the wrong hotel. She booked the hotel in town and there is no refund. My hubby decided he wanted to freshen up and use the shower room for $18 or €15 per person. We couldn't even share the shower room. Anyway, they provided the towel, toiletries, hair dryer, and a clean bathroom. I like the concept of the hotel. I will definitely book a room next time before we travel especially when we have another long layover.

After getting off the plane, the shower is located airside, so carry-on your change of clothes/toiletries. Its pricey and small but modern and clean, basically its renting a efficient private full bathroom to have all to yourself for 45 mins. All the basics are provided - towel, shampoo/conditioner, body soap and hair dryer. There is unlimited hot water but its on a timer so just have to press a button every few minutes to keep water flowing. Took one star off because there is no advance reservations, first come first serve so I had to wait 45 mins for one to open up (mid-week at ~7am). I overheard folks behind me in the line got a 1.5+ hr wait time. So show up at this counter asap, then go grab a quick breakfast/coffee while you wait if needed. While not related to this hotel, there is also locker service at another part of the airport (near ground transportation). So after my refreshing shower, I was also able to store my carry-on at the airport (with my dirty clothes/toiletries) at a very reasonable price and explore the city without all the bulk...win win!

Order always came in hot & perfect! The hotel breakfast was very good. They had made to order eggs, turkey sausage, (which I appreciate because I do not eat pork.) A huge and beautiful spread. The rooms are kinda small but have all you need, a comfortable bed and a good shower. The safety bar in the shower is not in the right place and you have to really reach over to get the water started. It's unavoidable to not get hit by some really cold water first.

When I booked a room for 4 over a couple of months ago, this was the cheapest option of all. I would say that if you want to stay closer to Schiphol you have to pay a lot more. If you don't care about distance this is a great choice. It's quietly located far from the airport and there is nothing around. If you want to take a quick bus to downtown, there is a bus station within walking distance. The bus shuttle goes to the airport once an hour and serves all Ibis hotels. At this location it departs every hour at the :30 mark. Staff was courteous and since I checked in on line, it took me minutes to get the key. So far I would recommend it if your flight leaves later in the day and you want to relax and unwind.
