The veal was incredibly tender, and the gravy was packed with flavor. It was a satisfying entrée that came with two sides. For my sides, I chose the pierogies and spätzle. The pierogies were honestly my favorite part of the meal. They were fluffy, cheesy, and generously filled. So delicious. I could have eaten a whole plate of just those. The spätzle was soft and well prepared, but compared to everything else, I found it a little boring. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a lot of character. I loved browsing the selection of German snacks, candy, and other imported items available for purchase. It added to the overall experience and made the place feel unique. While I'm not that familiar with German food, I thought this was a pretty good restaurant. Overall, I found German cuisine a little more muted than what I'm personally used to, but I still really enjoyed the meal and the experience. I'd be interested in trying more of the menu.

I had such high hopes for this place. :( The selection is very limited and perhaps I missed something (entirely possible), but I did not see a price list for the deli case. We did find a unique assortment of other German products- some we haven't seen in many years. The restaurant portion was quite busy and the customers looked happy. We were flooded with nostalgia and left in hopes of dining in on a less-busy day. I ordered two meats, including the German bologna. During the drive home, my family and I noticed a terrible odor-- the kind where we started pointing fingers at one another. We never suspected that the package from the deli was the source. When we opened it at home, a nauseatingly funky, ammonia-type smell came from the German bologna. While the liverwurst smelled okay, I could not trust it after the bologna and decided against keeping it. Wasted time and money. Dang! The staff is super nice and that was truly a plus. However, I doubt we will be back. My family is very bummed over this.

A bartender greeted me and gave me water. For my drink, I took the chocolate old fashioned (13 dollars). It was strong enough and chocolatly to enjoy. For my main plate, I chose the chicken wings (10 for 17 dollars), half fat rabbit sauce (quite garlicky) and other half siracha. While the wings were not breaded, they were still fried. It was definitely crispy, but still meaty and tender. The sauces were flavorful, and the siracha had the right amount of heat. The ranch dressing was homemade and so good, I ended up drinking it. There could have been more celery, but it was fresh and crispy. They only had one dessert, and unfortunately it wasn't homemade, so I passed. My bartender was friendly, but busy. She had a helper, but lots of patrons to serve. Yet, she was still very nice and helpful when needed. The vibe is social and casual. I would have thought they would have more USF students, but mostly locals who are enjoying a good atmosphere. Outdoor seating is available as well, and it looks like you can bring your pooch too. When it was time to check out and pay, I noticed they forgot to charge me for my drink. When I mentioned that, they told me not to worry about it. It was a very nice gesture from them. Parking here is easy as it is located in the Publix complex. There is also a Don Julio's and Bundt Cakes nearby for dessert too. The Fat Rabbit pub provides great casual bar food in a social atmosphere. The indoor dining is large enough to feel comfortable, and outdoor seating is also there if you want to enjoy with your dog. I am glad I chose this place again as it was near my hotel. Definitely coming back for more great bar food at reasonable prices. Overall: A

The courtyard is beautiful, and the live music really added to the atmosphere--a solo musician playing oldies that our whole group enjoyed. The restaurant serves beer and wine only, and the menu had so many appealing options that narrowing down a choice was genuinely difficult. They dropped off a pitcher of ice water for the table right away, which was appreciated, though the ice melted quickly. My iced tea also arrived with very little ice. Not really a complaint, just something I noticed. The deviled eggs arrived with a fun DIY presentation that felt a little kitschy but looked fantastic. I didn't try them myself, but the plate was completely cleaned by the table within minutes. The lobster bisque was creamy and flavorful, though I wish it had been served hotter. Service was friendly and hospitable throughout the evening, but the timing of the food was a little inconsistent. My side Caesar salad arrived before the appetizers, which meant I was eating well before the rest of the table. The wedge salad was an interesting take, served with bacon jam on the side, though it felt lightly dressed compared to the Caesar, which was absolutely loaded with dressing. Delicious, but definitely rich. I ordered the Nashville hot tenders and found them just okay, but honestly, everyone else's food looked great and there were a lot of dishes I'd be interested in trying on a return visit. Overall, the atmosphere, live music, spacious setting, and friendly service made for a very enjoyable evening. A few execution and timing issues kept it from being a perfect experience, but I'd absolutely come back to explore more of the menu.

The music venue part was closed when we went but I love local live music so I'm definitely gonna be keeping an eye on their events. The service was really cool too. Our server was super friendly and didnt mind us asking a bunch of questions about the menu. Speaking of the menu, it's pretty simple bar food but they do it REALLY well. The fries were super crispy and flavorful, same with the tater tots. But the wings... hands down some of the best wings I've ever had. The waiter told they smoke them for 8 hours and you can 100% taste it. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, just packed with flavor. I'm definitely gonna be coming back here and I recommend everyone does. If you havent checked out New World Brewery yet you're missing out.

The restaurant was clean and there's an outdoor area to smoke hookah as well. Our server was so sweet and we absolutely adored her! The food did take a while on the wait but the portions were pretty huge for the prices. We had the following: Appetizer sampler (hummus, tirosalata, tzatziki, and baba ghanouj. served with fresh pita) - 8/10 - this was so fresh and delicious! All the dips were made fresh and covered in olive oil. The pita was baked fresh and went so well with the dips! The sizes of the dips were massive and we had plenty to take back to our hotel. It took me back to Greece and it made me super happy. I love eggplant and the baba ghanouj was smokey, creamy, and so much eggplant flavor. There was a dip that I haven't tried yet called tirosalata and it's made with feta cheese and garlic and topped with oregano and olive oil. That was probably my second favorite dip next to to the baba ghanouj. It was tangy and enjoyable on the palate. The hummus and tzatziki dips were also hits and we enjoyed every single bite. We had some leftover and the sweet waitress gave us some extra fresh pita bread to take home. Castoria chicken salad - 8/10 - my friend had this and really enjoyed it. It had lettuce, jalapeno, grilled chicken, cucumber, tomato, onion, and avocado in a garlic aioli dressing topped with cheese and pita chips. She said it was one of the better salads she's had and was super fresh. the portion size was huge and she had plenty to take back to enjoy later. I tried some of her salad and I agree, it was delicious. Greek Souvalki wrap - 7/10 - my husband had this with the Greek fries and he seemed to like it. It was good, but he said he's had better ones. The pork tenderloin was tender and flavorful and he enjoyed the fries (had feta cheese on them). The fries were fried perfectly, golden brown with a satisfying crunch to them. The feta cheese crumbles on top were an excellent addition to the hot fries as it melted onto them. Overall, we would come back again if we're in the area. The prices were pretty decent for the portion sizes. The only slight complaint was that the food took a while and we were getting tired as it was getting pretty late. Nonetheless, even though it's a chain, the food was decent and good.

Now, it's Tom's Tavern, and they've made some changes. But this is still a fun spot for our casual girls nights! A few caveats: Tom's Tavern has a much smaller menu and no sangria. But we found lots of options on the new menu, and everything we ordered was delicious. I was happy to see they still have tater tots, and my girlfriends enjoyed their wings. Plus our server created a decadent cocktail for one of us with peanut butter whiskey, Bailey's & banana liqueur (a variation of an Elvis shot). We enjoyed tasting the first one so much that all of us ordered it next round! For my meal, I decided on the chicken tenders, which came with either potato salad or cole slaw, and choice of fries or tots. Unfortunately, the potato salad was served in a plastic container smaller than the dipping sauce cups. It was thick & tasty but I'm not sure why the portion size was so tiny! That aside, my tenders & tots were perfectly deep-fried, and I loved the house-made honey mustard & ranch sauces. This bar food is on point! Note, Tom's Tavern is suffering from a slim staff, as so many restaurants are. Luckily we were not in a hurry so we didn't mind. The two servers were definitely hustling all night, working all the tables. Tom's Tavern still hosts outstanding local live music. On our recent Friday night visit, JT Curtis & the Florida Scoundrels took the stage at 9pm for several long sets of mostly country music. This intimate venue is such a fun place to see talented musicians! Of course we'll return to Tom's Tavern. The location is convenient, plus they have tons of parking available in the plaza. The vibe is like a dive bar, but much cleaner & with better music. Edited to add the 5th star... Since posting this review, we have visited again. Service is still not speedy, but our food was delicious and our waitress remembered us & our custom cocktail!
