I love this place! The food is exceptional and the staff is welcoming. A definite must for anyone interested in sushi and Asian food.

After reading the review by Joy W., I decided while in Hanover to try Blue Koi. Having grown up in California, but now working in central PA, I have missed the taste of fresh sushi and now I have finally found a place that I gotta say has the best roll I have ever tasted (Green Jade specialty roll). The combination of fresh salmon, avocado, with another layer of spicy salmon and tempura flakes is like a little bit of heaven in your mouth! I also tried the Roti Canai pancake with curry dipping sauce and the red bean mochi ice cream, which were both excellent. I will definitely be back again to try their other rolls. Too bad I am mostly in York, or I'd probably be here at least 1-2 times a week. read more

Great dining experience. My wife and I were visiting gettysburg and decided to venture out of town for some sushi. I ordered the Chirashi and my wife had some tempura udon soup. All of the food was excellent and the service was great. If we are ever back in the area, we will be coming back. read more

Ok, so I have an obsession with green curry! Anytime I get Thai food, I can never seem to order anything else on the menu, no matter how good it sounds. The food here seems very well prepared and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is nice as well. The menu seems pretty focused on Thai and Japanese food, but is not overwhelming as some menus can get at these fusion type restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some quality Asian food in the Hanover area. read more

Had Sushi and it was delicious. We had searched for Mochi all over Philadelphia the day before. Asked and were happy to find they had it. Ordered each flavor, red bean vanilla, mango and green tea. have gone here off and on and today received horrible, embarrassing service and will never return nor recommend this place to anyone. I ordered cashew shrimp and received ginger shrimp. I called to say i would be bringing it back. The young man on the phone told me his manager was not available and call back in 30 min. I responded that it simply needed to be remade. He then told me cashew shrimp and ginger shrimp were basically the same. I told him i would be on my way back to which he told me i could not come......seriously. When i showed up he asked if i was the person who yelled at him on the phone. First of all i was on a car phone and certainly not yelling. I told him i was not yelling anymore than he was. He said he was entitled to his feelings. Well so am i. At this point the whole restaurant is looking. All i want is my food remade. He stated the cook was working on it. He continued to tell me he did not appreciate me yelling or speaking to him. If the cook is already remaking it I'm not sure why the cashier was continuing to have an issue. He then went into the kitchen and yelled. Very unprofessional. All if which i heard including the side conversation with the young lady who also worked there. I'm appalled ay the way i was talked about. Fyi if you want to trash a customer do it so that they can't hear you. Bottom line the wrong dish was made. There should not have even been a discussion or an argument. Instead i was treated like a criminal even though i had the wrong dish with me and the receipt. I spoke to him the way he spoke to me. I would sincerely hope race had nothing to do with this but judging from some comments i could hear i would say it did. I will not return ever nor did i even eat my food. After the behavior of this staff member i was not sure it was safe. read more

First timer. Went with local friends while we were on vacation. Not a sushi person but their menu had a lot to chose from. Eveything we had was very good as well as the service. This restaurant deserves four stars for the food, but we had a very bad experience with service and billing for our visit on June 28th 2017. We were presented two bills for the same meal. The server explained that it was a mistake and that one of the bills would be voided. Another server said that the extra ticket belonged to another table. We returned to our home to discover that both tickets had been charged Restaurant management stated that the extra charge would be deleted the next day, but it was five days before it was finally resolved - altogether a very clumsy bit of customer service. read more

Veggie Sushi was fresh and good... three star instead of four star because the serving size was small. I have eaten at many many sushi restaurants and this place always has smaller serving sizes. read more

Always passed it over, located in a strip mall in hanover pa of all places, blue koi is the BEST Japanese and sushi around for at least 25 miles. Always been fat and happy after a blue koi meal and the sushi is fresh, delicious, and of a good variety read more

What let down... our second visit to this restaurant was completely different experience. Ordered shrimp Pad Thai and it was probably the worst I have had. The noodles were pasty and dry, there were no bean sprouts in the dish nor much of anything else. It contained 6 nice sized shrimp but even they were bland. 6 spring rolls had good flavor, but we're extremely oily. We also ordered a Cantonese chow mein that was slightly better, but also dry and lacking vegetables. Cooks night off? Not an experience I would repeat for $55.00. read more

I love the hot dishes at this place. I have no complaints about the sushi, but the hot meals are always good. The restaurant is always clean and the decor is updated. Here is a tip, you can really get great bargains on the lunch menu. read more

I've tried at this point !most of the menu. Their sushi is to die for. The freshest I've ever had. For a small town vibe but big city flavors come here. Prices are right and the food is great. This used to be our favorite restaurant in the area. Food is still great, but the service is HORRIBLE. We went with 4 people, and were there for over 2 hours. This had happened the last few times we went. One persons dish came 1 hour and 45 minutes after we ordered. Such a shame, we were regulars here. We won't be back. read more

Huge fan of the chicken pad thai and pear shrimp sushi! The kids loved the japanese soda!! I actually like being able to bring in my own bottle of wine too. It makes it seem more homie. Love the way this place is decorated and the lady that runs it is great! My new favorite in Hanover! read more

Great Sushi!! We get take out from here once a month. The staff is always nice and we have never been disappointed.

Even the kids love Blue Koi. The tuna rolls are always fresh and the service is consistently good.

I am digging Blue Koi. I agree with the above poster that says the menu is like another sushi place in the area. But with that said, I am happy that there is some competition in the area. The drunken noodles are awesome! Now, I have to say that the service is lacking. They need more waiters/waitresses hands down. Amazing! I am a very picky Thai food eater and the Blue Koi blew me away. The food was light, fresh and delicious. They had a variety of food from sushi to Japanese and Thai. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. I highly recommend the Thai basil fried rice or the Pad Thai. This place has me addicted lately, I recommend the chai tea with milk, Roti Cani appetizer (Indian style pancake with curry sauce). And I have always gotten the green curry. Will never us this place again. Very unhappy with how i was treated. Spend over $40 on a pick up order only to get home and there were 2 iteams missing. Called them back and they said just drive back to get them. Told them i already drove and paid so they should deliver me the food i paid for, no way was i doing another 30 min round trip and let my other food get cold. Said they could not help me. No refund, no credit and they charged me for food i did not get. read more

Food was very good. Service is extremely slow. On a Saturday evening at 6:30 it took 1 1/2 for our meal to come. This is not a large restaurant. The meals didn't come out together. 2 of the three meals came out together. The other came out 5 minutes later. Very under staffed. Hostess was apologetic but not a quality experience. read more
