It's honestly hard to find an area where this place doesn't need improvement. I try to give myself time to chill before yelping so that my reviews are as honest as possible. My family attended this restaurant on Father's Day as a gift to me and it was likely the worst gift I've ever been given. We walked in at 5 pm to being told that the entire menu was likely out for the day. Other tables walked out while we waited. The availability of items changed every time the waitress showed up at our table. While the place wasn't busy, the tables stayed dirty. We ordered. We were told our orders were no longer available. Other tables ordered the same and were given what they ordered. Our food eventually arrived after nearly an hour with NO OTHER TABLES IN THE RESTAURANT and it was TERRIBLE!!! My wife had a 2 inch piece of blue plastic wire in her quesadilla and the waitress mentioned that it was the second time in a week that the drunk chef had done that!!!! Not one single thing we ordered was worth ordering in a restaurant. This place is disgusting and isn't worth ever going to. They need to be shut down and put out of business. I truly wonder if the health inspectors have ever been there. read more

Would love to give this a 5, but there was one minor and one unacceptable issue. Small place with limited parking, but adequate seating inside for the available parking. Some seating outside as well. Greater upon walking in and told to select our own seat. Lots of local rafting photos scattered around to look at while you wait. Drinks came quickly. Food took a little while, but was obviously hot and fresh when we got it. Batter in fish was outstanding. I'm told it is also used on the chicken. We will be back to try that. Bbq beans were very tasty. I'd like to see them cooked slightly longer so they are a little mushy, but that's a personal preference. Onion rings were good, but apparently are not considered a side. When ordering, we asked if onion rings were available and got a "yes". Upon getting the bill, they are an added charge ($7). The okra, unfortunately, was undercooked and essentially inedible. Banana Pudding and P-nut butter pie are a must!! Slingshot Buffalo chicken wrap is phenomenal! In house breaded tenders are comparable to chik-fil-a, fries are best I've ever had which leads me to the loaded fries with pulled pork!! Amazing!!! read more

I love this place so much it is amazing the sauces are legit I don't even like Pulled pork and BBQ but this is next level and it is filling it's a great place to hit up if you have a long drive or a awesome day on the river the staff is so kind and it's a unique gem that is worth trying it also has a nice welcoming atmosphere. read more

Came here as we were driving through and originally were trying to go to Apricot Place but they were closed on a Saturday afternoon, so we did a search for another good rated restaurant nearby and found Blue Hole BBQ. Something was oddly familiar about this place as it used to be a different BBQ place I visited over 10 years ago when we came to the area with friends during a white water rafting adventure. The meal was just ok back then but we were hoping with new ownership they had improved. In any case, the food here was decent, not great, but good. I got the ribs and my sons and wife got the brisket. The ribs were good, but my son said the brisket was just ok and didn't finish his meal. The sides were good and the lemonade was great! A highlight here is their home made BBQ sauces. They have sweet, mustard, and hot. All 3 were excellent and made the ribs I had very delicious. It was a good lunch and this place does the job if you're looking for a good meal. Service was friendly and the atmosphere is clean and cozy. 4 stars it is! Merry Christmas! read more

I'm writing this not to hate. Just some advice as a former chef. Food: Pot beans were good, cornbread muffin solid, sweet bbq sauce was great... and that's about it. Ribs: THEY LEFT THE MEMBRANE ON IT. Takes 2 seconds to remove this. Flavor was ok but dry and overcooked. Brisket: This item should not be on the menu. I don't even think it was actually smoked. I think it was from a slow cooker with smoke liquid added, so the fat didn't t render and it was bland. Coleslaw: bland, like ZERO salt or pepper added. The entire meal was under salted including the pit beans but I added some table salt and it was fine after that. I really had my hopes up with this place since I hunt and fish in the area and there's not much available. I didn't get any poultry but I see some said the same about their chicken experience. My advice is use Kosher Salt if you're not and actual crushed peppercorns. If you're using the cheap stuff and smoking for long periods this might be the issue. Good luck! read more

My daughter had the brisket and it was amazing (I tried a bite) and I had a healthy salad with grilled chicken - it came with a lot of avocado and was the best salad I have had in recent memory. The banana pudding and peanut butter pie were world class. The service was friendly and attentive. The place is not much to look at but it was spotless as were the restroom - ambiance is not something I care about is the food and service are great. read more

Sadly, I hate giving poor reviews but i don't see how I can do better than a 2 star in this case and that would be pushing it. I have to admit that our server was super intresting. Very talkative for sure... friendly? Maybe, not sure yet! as she was a bit too friendly i'd say lol but nevertheless I am always thankful for the service. Regarding the food. I had the corn nuggets for $6.00. I felt the nuggets themselves were crispy and tasty, nothing out of the ordinary and a familiar taste. However, I felt it was a very small portion as the nuggets were inconsistent in size some were very tiny. The chilli was very bland and lacked flavor all together, even when u added cheese and sour cream it still tasted pretty bland. The only good thing is that the chilli did bring some fritos with it. I ordered the sliders for $12, 2 turkey and 2 chiken no fries or side included. I enjoyed the turkey sliders better than the chiken. The turkey ones had cheese and this made the turkey seem more moist and made it taste better. The chicken ones were dry and the BBQ sauces I felt were not tasty at all, too vinigry and sour. The cole slaw was not fresh and taste wise it was just not good at all. Others in the group had the ribs and they were a large rack and I believe looked pretty good. I was told they were smoked well but bland in flavor. The potato salad was ok and so was the creamed corn. read more

Today we had the pleasure of getting to eat at the blue hole. Let me tell you it was the best barbecue I probably ever had. Our server crystal was very attentive to all of our needs from the barbecue brisket that was tender and amazingly cooked to the buffalo wings the ribs was perfectly cooked and delicious even the sides the potato salad, the pit beans, the fried okra, even the french fries they was all amazing and the best that any person could ever have in their life. They really truly mastered the art of cooking their barbecue as well as their sides. I would highly recommend it for everyone to at least try it once they will not be disappointed and I'm a very picky person. read more

We happened to be passing through and found the Blue Hole BBQ. Catfish dinner was so good and ribs were phenomenal! The staff was super friendly. We recommend a stop here for a tasty dinner, be sure and bring a a big appetite. It's a great place to stop. read more
