    Skiing at Blue Hills!

We all had a wonderful time at Blue Hills! Best snow in years! Terrific instructors! Friendly, helpful staff.

Super remedial learning area, conveyer belt "lift" luckily has a railing here.

Start with the good. Staff are REALLY nice and accommodating. I needed help with a few things and had a very pleasant discussion with everyone working here. Sorry, that's it. Almost no parking. There's an overflow lot with shuttle that luckily I was able to catch in a convenient amount of time. The bunny/learning area is a joke. It's sloped sideways but you're expected to go straight down about what 100 feet tops? I'm not a great judge of distance but it was short. No way to gain momentum...by the time you might you're slamming into the super long line for the lift itself into the zillions of kids doing ski lessons. If you go right to left on this "route" you're still tipped to one direction. Way too many lessons and kids. It's probably a great place for kids to have lessons, but I'm not a kid. I found the bunny hill lift in this area aka conveyer belt without railings very dangerous. There is a railing on one side for the super basic area that I took a picture of. Luckily the staff are watching with a keen eye. The lodge is super dingey and gross. Some people might find this historic and lovingly worn by many a winter sports lover, but to me it was just wet and stale. Can't comment on the food in the lodge but it smelled good. If you're an avid skier and just want an easy place outside the city then you'll probably enjoy it. But for a nervous adult like me who just needs space...don't bother. Rentals including helmet and lift ticket were a little over $100. Fine, standard. I'm glad i had this experience today because it reminded me I don't want to do this again any time soon. Fun to watch the black diamond-ers come flying down the slopes though, very impressive.

Came here on a Friday morning in March before a late start at work, and my expectations coming in were pretty low. I grew up skiing out West, so the idea of a 2-run, 300 vertical ft ski area was a little dissuading. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the ease and convenience of getting in some pre-shift turns. It only took me 30 minutes to get here from Cambridge, the ticket was $30, and the staff was super friendly and efficient. The best part was absolutely no lines! The main run is short but still steep enough to get a good amount of speed. The beginner run from the top is longer and meandering, which is a fun way to switch things up. I was even able to go on a trail run up to the peak afterwards from the nearby trailhead. My only complaint is that the website mentioned a terrain park, which was sadly nowhere to be found today. Would love to see the park status updated on the website (alongside some pictures of the current features)! Overall, as long as you come in knowing it's not going to be like skiing at Aspen or Whistler, it's a convenient, efficient, and easy experience that's definitely worth the ticket price.

It included an excellent lesson (shout out to my instructor Jason), decent rentals (notably the boots were nice and warm), and access to 2 easy slopes and a lift with 2 green slopes for practice. Once you scan the lift ticket, it's active for 4 hours which is plenty of time to get some skiing in. If you're new to this and want to get good, plan on taking more than one lesson. Not sure if it helps but I'll share my progression over one full day of skiing: It'd been 20 years since I skied, so I joined the morning lesson with the first timers and could ski down the bunny slopes comfortably by the end. I took another lesson the same day and was skiing down the green trails without any issues, although not the most efficiently (skis mostly but not always parallel). The facilities were clean and with everything you might need, hot food, drinks, a store, bonfires, wifi, a decent amount of locker space, and a very large area for rentals. It felt very safe, and everyone I interacted with was friendly. Parking wasn't an issue either. Overall, I enjoyed the lessons and my experience skiing at Wachusett, and I'd definitely go again!

We took one lift and the snow conditions were terrible. They were making snow late in the season and there were mounds in the middle of the trails with countless people falling. When we reached out the next season to receive the tickets Chris told us they would not be honored despite sharing the emails. We've enjoyed two years of ski lessons through our local rec relational department and the kids always have a good time learning to ski for the first time. The instructors are for the most part really great with the kids and patient so the classes can be larger or smaller. They start out assessing the kids by having them go down a bunny hill around cones. Based on their performance, they're put into different groups. They usually start on the bunny hills and then move to the blue trails and lifts and then hopefully onto the black trails. We've done private lessons as well and the one on one was extremely helpful. I highly suggest doing that if you can. They also have outside picnic tables and seating as well as the Outlook restaurant and lounge with full service and bar with a nice view in the mountain. They also have fried dough, a crêpe truck, vending machines. They always have something going on with a fun vibe: one year we saw a group of pandas skiing around the resort, outdoor grilling hotdog and hamburgers, sometimes they have jumps and moguls set up, etc. they also have events during the summer as well. Look for specials on lift tickets, special spring hours, and discounts! Parking can be tough, especially if there's lots of snow so you may be walking long distance to get to the rental area .

Plenty of parking at the base of the trails. Super convenient to unload and hit the trails. Turn green trails are just carpet beginner trails. Everything else is blue or black. They aren't too difficult and can be a little icy depending on weather. There is a nice little lodge for parents and it's a great go to for kids ski school without going to a big resort. If you want your kids to really develop skiing; then go to a big resort. But if you want to get some practice in, this is a nice spot. Certainly better than blue hills and no large crowds.

This is how I felt when I wanted to learn how to ski, but found that a majority of ranges around here catered to the thrill seekers and party goers. I headed to Bradford after seeing that they had a good package deal for beginners which includes a lesson, rental gear and a beginner lift pass for about $90. Signing up was easy and I scooted off to wait for my session. Although I was put into an adult group, no adults showed up for beginner lessons and I teamed up with a really cool 6-year-old girl. So my Yelp tip here is to bring a friend if you're uncomfortable learning alongside the tykes. My instructor, Larry, was great and gave equal attention to both me and the nugget. He showed us the basics and was very supportive of our trial and error. I felt it was a great base foundation. The beginner hills are great for newbs, but be prepared to wait 5-15 minutes for a lift when classes are in session. The little kids need extra time as they figure out the rope lift and spend a lot of time tumbling down and stopping the lift. It's not a bad thing, everyone's learning in this area - but take note if you're impatient. Overall, I like this place as an unintimidating place to build my foundation. After a few days of practice, I'll try out some of the other ranges nearby.

We had a bad experience last year in 2025 with severe overcrowding and a worker being physically and verbally aggressive with teenage members of our party, as well as swearing in front of six year olds. The company responded and gave us passes to come back this year. We went last night, 2/14/26. This was by far our worst experience. By the time we got there for our allotted time, 6-8pm, the hill was overcrowded. There was no tube left for my husband, so he sat out. When you got to the top of the hill, the lines were all the way back to the tree line. It was difficult to navigate to get in line. My brother timed a full cycle of getting in line to getting to the bottom of the hill, and it was 35 minutes, so you could get 3 slides if you were lucky. The rules were inconsistent with the workers. There were only 2 workers that I could see. They let a couple people ride tied together, and others were not allowed to. The hill was over- iced. Due to there not being a worker at the bottom, a grandmother and granddaughter were run over by a tuber, leading to a head and face injury. At one point they closed the last 3 lanes. Kids and adults came flying down, 6 at a time in each lane. No care or concern for safety. My son was stuck at the top while kids and adults cut in front of him to go down. This place has plummeted downhill. This used to be an amazing, family friendly, SAFE tubing experience. Based on the last two years here, I would never recommend this establishment to anyone.
