"Blue like the winter snow in the full moon Black like the silhouettes of the trees Late blooming flowers lie frozen underneath the stars" (Natalie Merchant) Snoballs are the Louisiana cousin of snow cones and shaved ice, The ice is finely shaved to the point of being fluffy as a cloud, so the flavored syrup kind of diffuses into the ice instead of sinking like a rock to the bottom of the cone. Sno 'N Dough sells a slew of carnival or country fair foods, like sweet or savory fried dough, fried Oreos, Fried Cookie Dough, 22 flavors of Snoballs, cotton candy, churros, and popcorn. We chatted with Dylan, their super friendly counterperson who whipped us up an 8-oz banana Snoball ($2.99) and a Marinara Parmesan Fried Dough ($7.99). The banana Snoball was great -light and airy and fluffy as a cloud without the course hunks of ice you sometimes find in a traditional Snow Cone. The Marinara Fried Dough was terrific -we shared some for dinner (it re-heated beautifully) and the dough came out soft and just about perfect. The sauce and cheese were also excellent, and I have to say we really loved it. Dylan told me a funny story about a customer he served a week aqo, A woman was walking by his stand, and she stopped dead in her tracks, cried out "OMG you have Snoballs", and almost started weeping. Turns out she was a Louisiana native and hadn't seen them sold anywhere besides her home state. Needless to say she was thrilled. We were pretty happy with our visit too! read more

I've been tracking Sno 'N Dough ("SND") for a few weeks now, and I'm happy that they opened at Parkville Market this week. They specialize in Fair/Carnival type food such as fried dough concoctions, fried Oreos, popcorn and . . . Louisiana Snowballs. I like a fruity and icy dessert. Always have. Louisiana Snowballs fit the bill. They share DNA with a snow cone, but the Snowball ice crystals are finer, are less likely to form large ice chunks and have (excuse me for a moment while I'm THAT guy) better mouth feel. They'll eventually draw from an even larger number of flavor bottles, but I ordered a vibrantly colored Blue Bubble Gum, Red Cherry and Yellow Pineapple. The end result was an Instagram worthy color bomb. SND has many other options even now. I ordered it without the milk option, which makes it sweeter. Without the milk, the sweetness level was right on for me. But you do you! I've interacted with the owners and employees both online and in person on numerous occasions. Couldn't be nicer folks. Service was first rate. Parkville Market is an awesome place to set up shop. I look forward to perfecting my flavor and color game with the Snowballs. Five Stars! read more

What a perfect addition to Parkville! The snowball is reminiscent of shave ice in Hawaii, especially with the condensed milk over the top. The 8oz was a good size for me--I got the tigers blood flavor (strawberry coconut) with the condensed milk topping-- great flavor recommendation, I can see why it's one of the most popular. The staff was super nice and helpful. While waiting to order, I watched to them make the fried dough and they look so cool--maybe next visit I'll try this! read more

If you are ever visiting the Parkville Market in Hartford CT you must try Sno n Dough it's certainly worth a try. I stopped in after seeing the Van Gogh exhibit. I got a snowball with tigers blood. Did someone say snow cone in 20 degrees weather with some amazing friends? A place that brings back memories to your childhood days of having that snow cone on a hot summer day. 20 something years later I am here trying another version of snow cone called Snoballs. They have a wide variety of flavors to choose from and my first choice was the strawberry. It had condensed milk on top which make it so sweet, creamy, and delicious. It was like a strawberry milkshake on top and strawberry slushy underneath. Oh my, I think I need another. Next on the list to try was the fried dough. The menu pictures looked amazing and I could hardly decide on what to get. A friend recommended the Nutella and banana and I was told this was their top seller. It was very delicious, not too sweet and I even brought some home for my husband to try. He said that it was huge, sweet, and delicious and maybe he will have to go to the gym tomorrow lol. Thinking about it now makes him want another bite. Lol I would definitely recommend for your sweet treats and I think it will get a lot busier in the summer when the time is hot. The restaurant is located inside Parkville Market. If you're not familiar with Parkville Market, it's a market filled with numerous restaurants. Cool right. Parking is great. Pay attention for the Parkville at the entrance of the packing lot or you'll miss it! There's plenty of space but expect to park a little further during lunch and busy hours. While dining at Meltdown he owner came out and hit us with a major surprise! Sno N Dough(which was formerly opened but closed)was back! If you're not familiar with Sno N Dough, they served sweet treats like snowcones and fried dough, Louisiana style. He is the owner of both. I have to say this totally made my day! I went right on down to get me one, lol. They used to be opened right next door to Meltdown. Now they're all the way at the other end I can't make it to a carnival, no problem, lol. Their fried dough is out of this world. It's so good I didn't get a pic, lol. The difference between their snowcones and traditional is that theirs are topped with Sweet Condensed milk. Baybeeee before you jugde, try it and i promise you'll like it. Now i get it all through my snowcone! Highly recommend and would come again! I'm so happy they're back!!!! read more

I am not a huge sweets person - but many of my friends are! I initially came here for a yelp event and every time someone I know wants something sweet, I can't suggest Sno 'N Dough enough. My last trip to Parkville Market my friend wanted some fried dough, and got the oreo flavored. OMG it was the best fried dough I have ever had - I can't stop thinking about it! The dough itself was perfect and topped with oreos, ice cream, a heaping pile of whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle. This had to be a joke. We ordered their new menu item "beignets" and were so excited. For 8.99 you get three very small beignets. That's nearly $3 a piece. Not only that but they were still COLD in parts of it. I also really assumed I would be getting at least 4 beignets for the price. I have no clue if I was supposed to get 4 but we saw the man frying our beignets where he fried 4 total but ate the 4th one immediately before serving us. The location of is full of lights and music sounds that can keep you moving. SNO N Dough was the perfect addition to this location. Who can say no to Carnival food. The Snoball is such a great tasting treat. This is such a great spot to bring friends family and you'll have a good time thinking your at a Carnival. Bought a fried dough from their booth at the jazz festival. I was walking away with my food when an employee chased me halfway back to the lawn yelling that I didn't pay for my order. On top of causing an embarrassing scene, this was totally incorrect. I described the employee who had swiped my card and rung up my order only a couple minutes earlier, and was told that this was the same employee who was claiming that I hadn't paid! Luckily, the receipt had been sent to my email (see attached photo) and proved them wrong. Ridiculous. EDIT: I caught them at a quiet moment and I was literally the only one in line to pay when this happened. It was calm enough that the employee was able to chat with me for a minute while ringing up my food, which made it even more absurd that five minutes later she was insisting I hadn't paid. read more

I was so excited to attend my first Elite Yelp event. Deploying for the entire year of 202. I like the Parkville area you have so many foodie spots to try. But today it was all about Sno N Dough. The guys were excited to have me there. The owner had me try the Tiger's Blood Snoball. fanny pal, compliment from Yelp. Thank you Yelp. I had a bag of popcorn. I brought my mom along. The popcorn was banging. I can attest to that because my mom devoured it. The Tiger's Blood snoball was sweet, refreshing and the whipped cream on top is great when you add both to your spoon. It was like a surprise in my mouth. I look forward to returning for fried dough and churros. To all my Elite Yelpers I look forward to my next Elite Yelper event. Had a great experience today at Sno N Dough. It's located in the Parkville Market in Hartford. Plenty of parking outside. I've never had a Louisiana snowball before, but plan on returning for more. I got there before they opened, but the friendly staff said they were ready to serve. I got the whole run down on how they were made and all the ingredients that go into it. I'm not a big fan of whipped cream, so I asked for a small amount. That was a mistake because it was the best whipped cream I've ever eaten. All the flavors mixed in very well. I was impressed with the snow cones! I got the tidal wave which is fruity and tropical and green. It was really good and I got some condensed cream on top, which sounded strange but tasted really good. Favorite place at Parkville! So happy Parkville has fair food now. Their sweet fried dough is obviously delicious -- crispy on the outside and doughy and soft on the inside. My boyfriend loved their s'mores dough and I like their classic. But you must try their savory doughs. Garlic Parmesan and taco are amazing. Fantastic place for a quick bite. Was charged $11.97 for a chocolate strawberry snocone after tax. The digital menu and paper menu on top of the window said $7.99 for a snow cone but they charged me $9.97 and then added $1 which was billed as Cheval on the screen, then added tax. Not sure what Cheval was, but maybe he was adding a tip for himself. I only noticed this when I already gave my card and he was charging me. I asked about the $7.99 price on the digital screen on top and they said they recently changed the prices. But then he was acting weird and quickly grabbed and crumpled up the receipt and walked away, got a broom and started sweeping when his colleague prepared the cone. When I asked her about the price, she had overheard our conversation and said yes when I asked if the price recently changed. Odd that they would change the prices without updating the screen, which would have been easy isince it's a computer. Snocone was okay, not $11.97 good. read more
