It is very accessible from Portland and the drive there is beautiful, and when you arrive at your destination you immediately feel at peace. Brian and Linda do a great job of making you feel welcome. We brought our own snacks and had a picnic in the gazebo and enjoyed the view of the river, which is so wide at that point that it almost gives the visual of being at the ocean as ships rolled by. We stayed in the Hummingbird Room which has a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view out of the window. The rates are very affordable and include breakfast - Brian is a great cook and they offer several meal options. We added the firewood package and were so glad we did, as I type this I wish I could be back there next to the fire while looking at the river. They only have two rooms so if you went with some friends you would have the whole place to yourselves. This really is a hidden gem and I highly recommend making the trip while you can.

The innkeeper is so sweet, friendly, and welcoming, she really makes you feel at home. And her cooking is mouthwatering, so good! Our downstairs suite was really large too, with two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. Basically an entire apartment. If you're looking for a romantic break away from Portland but not too far, this is the place to go. Walk around downtown a little, see the antique stores, visit the Twilight souvenir shop and Twilight filming locations, and go out into nature or drive along the river towards Astoria. But we couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one Boris and Lisa provided us with at Lewis River Bed and Breakfast. This place has breathtaking views along the water and a deck from which to watch the sunrise and sunset while eating any of your meals. Our hosts went out of their way to cater to us and add those special touches throughout the room, in the main house, and when eating. For example, when we were trying to decide what to have for dinner, Lisa provided us with menus and helpful descriptions of local food offerings. We got pizza delivered and Lisa had chilled a bottle of wine for us to enjoy while we sat outside and took in the view. And breakfast was to die for with French toast with fresh berries and syrup, bacon, fresh melon, eggs, juices... this is a place I would love to visit again and look forward to seeing our wonderful hosts again

Probably one of the best courses I've played. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. That's not too say they are perfect as they could use a little finish work, but I can overlook that with the amazing property. One thing I was disappointed with is that when we booked our stay everything said this was a Bed and "Breakfast". And there were countless reviews that said the breakfast was one of the highlights. We came expecting some delicious hot breakfasts to start our days, especially with a holiday where everything around was closed. Unfortunately, they recently changed to only providing continental breakfast... Not what I was expecting especially for a bed and breakfast that I feel I paid the premium for. This is a solid 4-star place but with the removal of hot breakfasts, I could easily have rated it as 3 instead. It wouldn't have been as big of a deal if we had been given a heads up before we arrived of the change, we could have planned ahead for it by bringing something to make our own. With that said, Adam goes out of his way to make sure you are well taken care of and comfortable the entire stay. They set up a grill so we could cook hamburgers and he was great to talk disc golf with. They also have a great spot to enjoy a fire, toast marshmallows, and make smores. Don and Kitty are delightful hosts; funny, charming, warm, accommodating, and exceptional chefs to boot! We were lucky enough to be staying over during one of their cooking classes and got to experience the most scrumptious multi-course Italian feast with different varieties of handmade pastas made from their own fresh eggs from the henhouse. Breakfasts are hearty and tasty, and it's a great having it on the sun porch, rain or shine. The house itself is really lovely.
