Thank you Lisa and Boris for making this a great experience for our first bed and breakfast Melissa&Chris

We had never been to a bed and breakfast before when we booked our Portland/Mt St Helens vacation…read moreand needed a place to stay. But we couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one Boris and Lisa provided us with at Lewis River Bed and Breakfast. This place has breathtaking views along the water and a deck from which to watch the sunrise and sunset while eating any of your meals. Our hosts went out of their way to cater to us and add those special touches throughout the room, in the main house, and when eating. For example, when we were trying to decide what to have for dinner, Lisa provided us with menus and helpful descriptions of local food offerings. We got pizza delivered and Lisa had chilled a bottle of wine for us to enjoy while we sat outside and took in the view. And breakfast was to die for with French toast with fresh berries and syrup, bacon, fresh melon, eggs, juices... this is a place I would love to visit again and look forward to seeing our wonderful hosts again

Until you stay here and meet Jerry, it's really hard to understand how great this place is. Jerry…read morehas had a lifelong passion to create the best B&B possible and nearly all aspects of our experience clearly communicated how well Jerry's vision has been manifested. The reservation and check-in process was totally smooth. Jerry showed us the room and gave us the key to use to enter our room and the building later. After that he gave us plenty of dinner recommendations where we had a nice outing. The room itself was very modern and nice. The bed was very comfortable with all kinds of sheets and pillows that allowed my wife and me to pick one that was just right for each of us. The room also had plenty of space for all our stuff. The temperature was just right and was able to get more than warm enough with the fireplace and two forced air heaters (one for the bedroom and one for the bathroom). The bathroom was also very nice too. It had a large shower, two sinks and all the fixings a hotel room has. We also noticed some bathrobes, but didn't end up trying those on. In the morning, we came up to the dining area for breakfast and had an amazing breakfast made by Jerry. The amount of food was by no means too small and came with local coffee and orange juice. There was even bread that came from a local bakery. This breakfast was one of the best I've had anywhere. We also enjoyed having conversations with Jerry about his passion for this B&B and other topics too. The location of this place is great for all kinds of activities. There are wineries, a number of nice restaurants in Newberg and all these random agricultural-themed attractions nearby. We stopped by a barn store and got a pie on the way home! It's also fairly close to Portland and family we stay with when we visit. All in all, we left this place with great memories and the pleasure of having been part of someone's lifelong passion of hospitality. We're writing this review to recommend this place to others and will definitely be telling anyone visiting the area to consider staying here.

It is very accessible from Portland and the drive there is beautiful, and when you arrive at your destination you immediately feel at peace. Brian and Linda do a great job of making you feel welcome. We brought our own snacks and had a picnic in the gazebo and enjoyed the view of the river, which is so wide at that point that it almost gives the visual of being at the ocean as ships rolled by. We stayed in the Hummingbird Room which has a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view out of the window. The rates are very affordable and include breakfast - Brian is a great cook and they offer several meal options. We added the firewood package and were so glad we did, as I type this I wish I could be back there next to the fire while looking at the river. They only have two rooms so if you went with some friends you would have the whole place to yourselves. This really is a hidden gem and I highly recommend making the trip while you can.

She was able to pull up ones for us and even gave us a little discount for joining the Best Western rewards program. And honestly the price wasn't much more, which was SO nice! The rooms are okay. We did have leftover food from someone else left in our fridge, but again, we did book this very last second like day of so I kinda get it. Still a little gross, but again, SUPER happy we were able to stay here on such short notice! The beds were pretty comfy, too! We were in town for Halloweentown and they decorated everything so cute! Loved it! And the free breakfast was nice. Not the best again, but something to hold us over. The gym was pretty nice too. We used that as well. Definitely would recommend staying here if you're coming in to town. And again, shoutout to Wendy as well as the rest of the staff there for being SO kind and nice to us!!!

Last Saturday the rate was around $110, without tax and extra fees. and this Saturday they want $172, which is higher than the $159 rate posted online. They won't honor the online price that they actually post. Not terribly honest. We don't eat the breakfast. Plus is that its the only one along SR30 until Portland. So reserve early.
