We stayed in the Boho Wagon…read more(not usually my thing, but my wife loved the colors), I really admire the level of care that went into the place. Super clean, quality furnishings and bedding, really well maintained. Other than the little dining table (which looked like it had a bit of age but not a big deal), there wasn't a scratch, stain or chip of paint to be found. Incredibly cozy once the curtains are all closed. We also loved the rope lights in the common area after they lit up in the evening. The location didn't seem to be in a particularly bad/sketchy area, but I appreciate that the lot is completely fenced and gated off. Fortunately for us there were always some open spots to park on the neighborhood street right outside. There are several restaurants within walking distance, which are also listed in the guest book inside each house. The bathrooms may be a bit cramped and some outlets positioned a bit inconveniently, but I suppose that's to be expected in a tiny house. That being said, highly recommend staying here! Nothing else like it. We'd love to come back here again, but now the question is: do we choose a new tiny house, or return to the hallowed and revered Boho Wagon of yore?

Nordic is one of a handful of the motels near the airport in this area. We just needed a place with a bed to take a break from sleeping on the couches for a four nights while waiting on movers and this one has the best reviews. The rate is cheap and the rooms are fine for the price. I booked single queen room #12 which had a full kitchen (no pots or utensils included), a Murphy style ironing board and iron on the wall, a moderately comfortable bed and a TV. The only downside is the internet which was painfully slow especially in the late night hours we stayed in the room. There's also no dead bolt and no way to tell housekeeping you're sleeping so you need to make sure you talk to the front desk if you intend to sleep in. They also don't provide tissues so either bring your own if you have allergies or plan to keep a roll of tp at your bedside. That was a first for me! Signs everywhere tell you to park head in which was odd and some people still didn't listen (not us). I didn't see tickets on any cars so I don't know how strictly they monitor their limited set of spots. I'd stay again if I needed cheaper long term digs by PDX.

I'm not thrilled about the location, but it's extremely well maintained and comfortable…read more It's fine for a quick overnight stay, I found a nice local pub a couple blocks away, but don't walk there at night. The homelessness is real here.

It's shallow, has a small slide, dumping bucket, and waterfall. Kids were playing in there for hours! He also loved the breakfast variety each day. We loved the eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes, but they also have oatmeal, cereal, breads, muffins, waffles, and fruit. Very kid friendly menu! The gym was big for a hotel gym, including treadmills, bikes, free and a weight machine, ample space, and cold water. The room was large- we had a dog friendly room with a king bed. Usually hotels that allow dogs out you on the first or second floor in sterile rooms but our room was cozy and large! There's a a mini fridge and coffee machine, which you don't need since they always have coffee and tea made in the lobby! What I loved most is the location, close to shopping, close to Powells and Deschutes Brewery- both perfect for anyone with small kids! There's also a park one block away to walk our dog and has a playground. We come to Portland once a year and this was by far our favorite hotel!

Stocked very well as far as blankets, kitchen items, soaps, etc. The decor and furnishings felt higher-end and the beds were very comfortable. The master shower is very big! Not to mention, the backyard was absolutely beautiful, the pool was very clean and it just felt so serene. The house was in a great location-- central to almost everything. There weren't any huge negatives, but a few things to note. Dirty sheets were left in the washer (didn't smell good), the carpet is a bit worn, and the shower curtain liner in the smaller bathroom is pretty ripped and needs replaced. Toilet paper was very low-quality as well. Communication was more automated than I'm used to (large company) but the info provided was helpful and I had no issues. I would definitely consider staying at this spacious and centrally-located rental again. We felt it was decently affordable compared to other options nearby.

(I also don't…read moreown a cellphone which means I'm used to being treated like a weirdo) usually this posed no issue for me whatsoever -- even when renting a car. That's because places like Budget rent-a-car have let me rent vehicles in the past by just letting them place a $250 hold on funds in my account, in addition to prepaying my rental. Except this time. For some reason (I think because it's been so long since I had a credit card, that my rating is low now due to no recent credit history) they denied my ability to rent from them. But not until I had already made the reservation and prepaid the charges, weeks before. When I showed up to the rental counter (the day before my family and I were to leave for Disneyland) Budget told us no go! Ugh. Our little 2004 Kia Rio is fine for the occasional grocery shopping trip around town but with no AC, manual steering and some pretty uncomfortable seats, we really didn't want to take our chances in the heat on the grapevine driving down to Cali. We were so distraught and trying to brainstorm options (like asking a friend to take the risk of renting it in their name and letting us use it for the trip -- something we REALLY didn't want to do.) That's when the girls at the Budget counter told us about Steve from Crown Auto Rental. They gave us his number and even encouraged us to call him from their phone (I think they felt sorry for our little one, sitting dejected in the corner of their lobby.) We called Steve and he happened to be close by. He quickly crunched some numbers and came up with several options for us for our trip, no credit card needed. Steve picked us up from Budget and took us back to his office on 105th and NE Sandy. He offered us a mini-van and a Taurus, for just a couple hundred more than our pre-paid Budget reservation (still $200 less than a last minute Budget res at the same time.) He took a $150 hold on funds (instead of Budget's $250) as a deposit on the car and he let us take it out of state (an exception he doesn't normally make.) Basically, Steve and Norma saved our whole vacation (and we hadn't had one in 8 years!) the car was great, ran well and got us to and from our destination in one piece and we didn't have to run around awkwardly asking our friends to put their financial livelihoods on the line for our vacation. These are good people -- with good intentions and a smart business model and I highly recommend them to anyone who has trouble renting from a traditional car company or anyone who likes to support a local business with a heart. I know Crown will be our first call the next time we need a car. I can't say enough good stuff. *Oh! and they promptly refunded the $150 hold once we returned the car in good condition. Awesome experience all around.
