Went there for a valentines meal last night. It was packed, which was understandable, but fortunately we were at the back of the restaurant where the tables were at least spaced out, not like at the front where it looked like shoulder to shoulder - not nice for a valentines meal!
Ive been before several years ago, and it was pretty good, but last night was so poor, i had to write this.
I ordered a king prawn and avocado salad starter. It had zero king prawns and just two measily normal prawns - what a joke!
The main courses were measily too and the desserts. The food tasted nice enough so no complaints there, but it was as if they had twice as many customers as they had food for, so the portions were halved, the service stretched to the limit and the waiting times became an age as the place got to fully booked.
Bearing in mind it was £30 each plus drinks for the valentines set menu, it was a real let down, and i wont be going there again. They really let themselves down by overbooking themselves, and i am very sure that many others were thinking the same as they looked at their meagre portions spread thinly across their plate.
Maybe i should have complained at the time, but its valentines night so not really what i want to be doing when out for a special romantic meal.
Left after two and a half hours, with us both realising we were still actually hungry after a three course meal - never left a restaurant thinking that before! So, it could so easily have been lovely, but thanks to overbooking and the subsequent issues of this, it was instead disappointing, and, for a £75 bill - abysmal. read more
