To make a long story short the process from dig day forward was very frustrating. I am a home builder, so I am familiar with construction processes, contractors, and scheduling. In the very beginning, I requested to be given a seasoned superintendent for my project. What I got was a messenger. 99% of my questions could not be answered, and unfortunately a few build details were overlooked or installed improperly and had to be corrected. This was not because I did't express my concern but more because it just went in one ear and out the other. I ended up working with John the manager after a certain point in time. Fortunately, he saw to it to make things right. My 1st pool school was rushed and lacked the "Congratulations on your new pool, I'm here to teach you how to maintain it" attitude. This was my first pool, I was a deer in headlights. Eventually, they sent a second pool school technician to me by the name of Brian Heathcoe. What a wonderful human being Brian is!. He showed me every process on maintaining the pool and was patient enough to answer my 100 questions. I've had my pool for 10 months now and there has been a time or two when I was unsure of something and reached out to Brian on his cell phone. He answered immediately and took care of me. He has since been promoted, and I can understand why. Blue Haven needs to hire more people like Brian! My bottom line suggestion is if you go with Blue Haven on the Gulf make sure you communicate and hold them accountable to what they say they're going to do. I have never written a negative review about a company before, but I feel it's important to share our experience so others know what to expect. We are currently in the process of having a pool built by Blue Haven Pools on the Gulf Coast. In the beginning, everything was excellent. Our designer, Laura, was wonderful. She took the time to listen to exactly what we wanted, thoughtfully designed our pool, and made sure every detail matched our vision. She was knowledgeable, patient, and a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely give her 10/10. The financing process was also smooth. Communication was prompt, and any questions we had were answered quickly. We were given a dig date of April 21 and an estimated completion time of 6-8 weeks, with an anticipated swim date around June 10. We understood those dates were estimates, but once the pool was dug on April 21, the experience changed dramatically. Communication became extremely difficult. Weeks would go by without anyone coming to work on the project, and we received little to no communication. I texted our project manager several times without a response. I called repeatedly, left multiple voicemails with Blue Haven, and sent several emails, all with no reply. After nearly a week and a half of trying to reach someone, I finally contacted the financing department simply asking if our project manager was okay and if someone could please return my calls. Eventually, I was contacted by the project manager's supervisor, who told me he would be taking over our project temporarily and assured me everything would get back on track. At that point, nearly four weeks had passed since anyone had worked on our pool. He met with us, reviewed the project, and I approved and signed a change order for an additional $7,400 worth of pavers. I was told they had been ordered and that work would begin within a few days. Meanwhile, the original pavers had already been sitting in our front yard for over five weeks, damaging our lawn. The following Monday, sand for the pavers was delivered despite a tropical storm being forecast for the next day. I even reached out expressing concern that the sand would be washed away, but I never received a response. By the end of that week, no crews arrived, no new pavers had been delivered, and there was no communication. The following week I was told that rain had delayed the schedule and that we were "third in line." This was confusing because only a week earlier we had supposedly been days away from starting paver installation. Since the additional pavers still hadn't been delivered and I hadn't even received an invoice, it became difficult to believe they had actually been ordered when I was originally told they had been. Eventually, the pavers did arrive after my husband contacted management again, but two more weeks passed with beautiful weather and still no work began. Again, our project manager stopped responding to texts and calls. When my husband reached out to management once more, we learned that our project manager had actually submitted his resignation. Had we not continued calling, we likely would have never known. We were promised another update the following day regarding next steps. As of today, our pavers have been sitting in our front yard for nearly two months. There is construction debris throughout our backyard, a large pile of dirt that now has grass growing through it, and because the dirt blocks access, I can't get my lawn mower into the backyard. I've had to use a weed eater just to keep the grass down and reduce the chance of snakes. Our fence has remained down throughout the project, making it difficult to let our dogs outside and leaving the construction visible from the road. I'm also concerned about potential HOA violations because of the condition of our property. I understand that construction projects experience delays, weather happens, and schedules change. What has been most disappointing isn't the delays themselves--it's the lack of communication, the repeated unreturned calls and messages, and being given timelines that ultimately weren't accurate. A simple phone call or text updating us would have gone a long way. Our experience has been stressful and disappointing. While the design and sales process were outstanding, the project management and communication after construction began have not met the level of service we expected. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Blue Haven Pools. If you choose to work with them, I would encourage you to prepare for potential communication challenges and a project timeline that may extend well beyond the original estimate. read more

Blue Heaven put the wrong color plaster in March 2025 didn't offer anything. Didn't get a lot of pool information at start up. November 16 had leak in pool filter. Was informed they don't handle repairs they sent me to another company after 60 days. Two More completely sucessful additions to the Blue Haven Oasis. The multi cyclone 50 was installed today to help aid in our surface skimming. It is an absolute beast! This was a highly recommend filter for our set-up from multiple sources. After adding our secondary pump we needed some additional filtration due to our OCD. This unit is a very convenient and easy to clean filter choice for additional pumps and water features. Chuck with Blue Haven Pools on the Gulf came to the house for this tedious install. He was respectful of our plants and landscaping as well as cleaned up every bit of the plastic sawdust from sawing through several pipes. Chuck setup a small work station and worked proffesionally and courtiosly from that area. He cleaned and wiped all of the connections so the project looked amazing. While at the house the Omni Link Retro Kit was also installed. When it comes to this upgrade let me tell you this is an absoulte no brainer for adding to pools prior to this equipment. The simplicity and versatillity alone made it a good buy. All of the water features are working as designed and filtering incredibly. The light features on this unit are way easier to control and enjoy than the lights on/off method we had before. Below are some pictures as you can see when you make the right choice in builds and renovations it shows. The Blue Haven Team is the best. So far the office/design center and construction process has been fine; it was our designers that caused much stress getting started. Dear Pool Haven, Julia Neville who answered my call for assistance and Jonah the technician came to my aid. After many Emails to different departments these two people helped me. I Was having a problem with the control panel I just needed someone to come and assess the problem. Julia made that happen and Jonah was able to fix it. Pool decking which is concrete is showing rocks and holes and is crooked. Plaster is spotted and said they were going to fix. They don't stand by there work. If you would like to SEE THERE WORK,let me know. read more

If you are building a pool, even if it cost more money, use someone else. The process was very good on the front end, design and contracting went smoothly. She was very helpful and knowledgeable and we were confident that the process would be smooth. It was everything but smooth. I will list the deficiencies for clarity. 1. Work app never worked so we had very little clarity on process. 2. Picking out the materials went smoothly, but when they showed up they put different tiles in the spa and the outside stone work was different than what we selected. (they didn't mention either one) 3. Spa was not level and they had to send a crew back out with concrete saw to fix the exterior wall stones. 4. They did not return the lot to original condition as promised. (they will take the absolute shortest route to appease customer at the time and then disappear) 5. They did not properly clear the lines and trash in the lines destroyed the filter separator. (they did replace it after repeated conversations) 6. Circuit board went out on pump first couple of weeks. (Took them 3 visits to figure out what the problem was and fix it) 7. Pavers have flat finish with concrete color as opposed to colors that were selected. 8. Because they didn't properly do start up and maintenance we currently have small calcium deposits all over the pool that are sharp and rough. Not sure how we will proceed, no longer have confidence in their ability to fix anything without doing additional damage. 9. Areas in the pool where grout was not completed had to be fixed later with another crew that still didn't complete it correctly. (again, appease with the least amount of effort and disappear) 10. Lot was not "ready for sod" as they initially described. 11. Issues are impossible to resolve because they literally do not answer the phone. When they send people out you never know what day and time or which issue they are working. (sometimes I am not sure they knew) 12. If you are looking for professionals who will communicate and coordinate in a respectful manner, this is not the company. 13. I travel for work and a lot of the coordination was done by my wife and she kept telling me that they communicated differently with her and did not follow through on the promises they made when I was there. I did not realize the full extent of the issue until I happen to be in the car with her when she received a call from one of the managers working an issue on our pool. She was attempting to explain to him why our confidence in their abilities was lacking and we were concerned about them doing more damage while trying to fix another issue. He was rude and condescending to my wife. I intervened and ended the conversation but I understand much more clearly what she had been describing to me about her interactions with these knuckle heads. There were and still are other problems that I will not elaborate on further in the interest of brevity. You should also know for context that this is the only yelp review that I have ever done on any subject or business. We have had a lot of work done on our house in the past year with multiple contractors without issue. I wish I had the benefit of someones experience and insight prior to hiring Blue Haven Pools, I would have gone a different direction. I am not sure how we will proceed, I really question their competence and ability to fix issues associated with our pool. read more

They just finished up a gunite pool and some concrete work. To say that I had some reservations would be an understatement after dealing with contractors for a major house renovation in the past. Blue Haven could not have done a better job in my opinion. From the sales, to design to final product was an easy process. They were up front with the timeframe and amount of work to be done which helps manage expectations. We even had to switch Project Managers right in the middle. Jeff did a great job starting the project and Justin jumped right in and took it over and finished the job. It looks amazing now, I will post pictures after we get our sod though. Blue Haven Pools builds a beautiful pool, but once it's completed you can't reach them. I've had several issues & have always had trouble even reaching someone to talk to, much less actually getting someone to my house. They DO NOT return phone calls. Also, now that the warranty on my pool deck has expired, I'm finding that some pavers are sinking. I pulled one out & found NOTHING underneath but a big hole. Of course, I can't get them out here to look at it. Maybe a lawsuit after someone gets hurt will do it. read more

I would NOT recommend Blue Haven to anyone looking to build a pool or spa. The beautiful pools that you see in their brochures and advertising are a result of the contractors they hire, NOT a reflection of what Blue Haven actually does. From poor communication throughout the construction process to failure on their accounting department to reconcile the last payment, they lack the ability to practice common sense, much less customer service. From the time construction began, we rarely knew when/what the next step would be and when we reached out for answers, we were left with answered calls and texts. Our partially completed pool sat untouched for weeks on several occasions, one of which was over 5 weeks. When it was finally finished, we received very minimal information about the specifics of equipment and overall maintenance. So inevitability we have run into issues with our pool and once again, Blue Haven is unreachable both by phone, email and text. It's too bad I already referred my neighbor to Blue Haven for her future pool because knowing what I do now, I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

We started are pool on March 15, 1021, Everything was going great until our project manager had to go out for surgery. Then nothing went right. They came and plastered the pool, started filling it up with water. Then came a rain storm, they left it where all the dirt from the dig ran down in the pool. Still trying to get all the red stains out. They forgot to run the wire for the light in the hot tub, water features were wouldn't work properly. No one would answer there phone or return messages. It has taken us 5 months to get them to fix things. And no one can get you to who is actually in charge. They broke our drive way in two places, we had to get it fixed. They said to give them the bill, we did abs they still haven't paid it. Hard to enjoy something you spent A lot of money on, when you have to go through so much trouble read more

The initial meeting with Laura at our home for the design stage went okay. However, we feel that signing the contract was a little snuck in. She did not have the correct measurements for the layout. We also reached out to her later regarding the referral incentive, which we had mentioned who referred us many times not aware of such program, and she did not one time mention the program. Later, when questioned, she basically told me she tries to remember to ask, but basically isn't obligated and the name has to be written on the contract when she turns it in. I stopped responding to her after that nonsense. We started our pool dig on January 9. We have progressively moved forward, which we honestly didn't think that it would move this fast. Our PM, Mike Jones, deserves more than five stars, but the subs have not been the best for the most part. We expected that the work performed would be done correctly the first time. Thankfully our PM has seen all issues along with us and has immediately had everything corrected to our satisfaction. There is some discrepancy with the dig, but our PM has managed that very well. As of today, January 26, we are finishing up some coping issues and a few waterline tiles. Next will be decking, which we assume will happen fairly fast. Again, we never expected to be this far along. Mike has been awesome to work with and we do appreciate everything that he has assisted with thus far. read more

Let me start by saying that the finished look is good; However, the process was a disaster. Everything went really well with the designer and they actually broke ground a week earlier than expected and it went downhill from there. We got excuse after excuse as to why things weren't being done in a timely manner. Cullen was our project manager and we could rarely reach him neither by text or phone. We'd call the main office and ask for Cullen's manager and he seemed to be a bit nonchalant. We were told about 8 weeks when they broke ground in February and the pool wasn't complete until late August. We decided to get the spa after the ground had been broken for the pool and my husband and I texted and called Cullen about it...it took literally a month to reach someone to do so and that was with me calling someone in corporate. Everything was blamed on the rain when it rained despite the fact that there were several perfect days that passed where no one showed up to do anything in production. They broke our gate, we notified them and we were told that they'd take care of it. Of course we still have yet to hear from anyone concerning. Once the pool was finally complete it took a while for them to bring our vacuum and chemicals that were supposed to be included and when they did they only brought 1 bag of salt vs the 3 that we were told we needed and we'd get. We'd have to call and/or text Cullen weekly for updates and still wouldn't get them. I understand that things happen and companies fall behind but it's not the customers' fault. We were very patient we just wanted to know what was going on and what to expect and we never even got that courtesy. I would not recommend this company to anyone nor would I use them again for any work in the future. Seriously lacking in customer service and the "pool school" was a joke, it started raining so the guy flew through the session and told my husband to call with any questions so we're still unsure as to how to actually work the control panel. read more
