HORRIBLE! I found this place by reading the reviews on yelp. I expected great things about this place based on what I read. I have my usual go to sushi spot in coral springs, but it was too far of a drive. Either way, I dined in on a Friday night. It was packed (which i thought was a good sign). However, it took 30min to be seated. We ordered two rolls, the lobster tempura roll, and the tempura maki roll. out took over an hour to get our food. The service was terrible and slow. The waitress was inattentive. She hardly came to check on us, or even stop by to say sorry for the wait but the food should be out shortly. She did nothing. we had nothing on the table, napkins, soy sauce, dipping cups for the soy sauce, chop sticks. She forgot all of that. FINALLY, when the food came out we were excited by the presentation. However, that was short lived! the lobster roll had more tempura than lobster (like sweet and sour chicken that is all batter and hardly any chicken) DISAPPOINTING! paid around $23 for the lobster roll and it barely had any lobster, all crunch! The tempura maki roll was ok. Nothing to brag about. THE MOST DISGUSTING THING ABOUT THIS PLACE were the restrooms. It was the ultimate turn off. It had NO toilet paper, and NO soap to wash your hands and it was filthy with brown paper towel piled in the corner from people having to wipe but not able to flush the hard paper! Furthermore, if the bathroom had no soap HOW are the EMPLOYEES WASHING THEIR HANDS?! I complained twice about this, once while we were waiting to be seated, and again when we were leaving 2 hrs later and I noticed it had not been rectified. I will NEVER eat here again. I am sure these employees are handling your food WITHOUT washing their hands after using the filthy bathroom!!! NASTY NASTY NASTY! yelp you disappointed me with this one! read more

Top notch service with a commanding presence from the sushi chefs! The small river that floats around the bar is really cool too! Second sushi place I've been to that had something like that. Different colored plates get you a certain price point for the dish you choose. Highly recommend to sit at the bar and be mesmerized at the skills of each chef. Beef and Tuna Takaki were excellent as well as the Happiness Roll and South Beach Roll! We left happy and satisfied. Good thing we came right before a big dinner rush! What can I say I'm a huge fan of blue ginger. This place is always busy but wait time is usually quick. I always like sitting at the bar with the sushi boats! They have a great selection and if you are craving anything you can request it to the chef and he will make it for you. At the bar you'll see a card with the prices per plate depending on the color and at the end depending how many plates you had they bill you. I've never had a bad experience here their fried rice is amazing and fresh! The sake selection is good always a lot of variations to pick from. My new favorite is now the strawberry sake it is sweet but so good! If you're in the area and craving sushi you can't go wrong! read more

Fantastic sushi! We sit at the "bar" and watch the sushi being made. We've been there so often that our favorite appetizer (asparagus & shrimp) magically appears shortly after we sit down. They'll make all of our favorites if they're not in the River that goes around the bar. And they'll answer questions about what they're making. Some of their plates are just stunning pieces of art. So much fun sitting at the sushi bar. The little boats tease you with their treats and delicious bits of sushi. The sushi chefs are great and will make you something special if you ask. Or if someone snagged something you wanted they will make you up another one in the fly. I hear their hot food is delicious as well. I have tasted a few of the dumplings and thing that come around on the boats. But sushi for me is where it's at. Ps: enter their Facebook weekly drawing for a $50 gift card. I've won twice. Better known as "the boat sushi place"! I don't think I've ever actually sat at a regular table at Blue Ginger because the sushi bar is honestly the place to be. Little boats floating around with plates of sushi and other food... who does't want to be front and center to that? Their sushi selection is usually pretty vast and is based off of their regular sushi menu. They do take special requests if you ask really nice! The color of the plates differ in price and they usually have a list on a business card size to indicate which price is which. There is limited sushi bar seating so it would be more diffiult for groups larger than 4 to be guaranteed a seat together. read more

Got a to go order, angry tuna roll, when I got home I started to eat it and tasted spoiled. I smelled the roll and literally smelled like the tuna was out of the fridge for days. I went back to the restaurant to advised them and took the roll to get a refund. The waitress assisted me but not once did the manager came out to apologize, restaurant was empty so it wasn't like they were busy. Asked the waitress how come manager can't came out of the back and speak to me in regards to this issue and she just looked at me with a face of (IDK what to tell you). This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant but after the spoiled food and horrible management treatment to a customer I will think twice of going back to this restaurant! I have to say I was pretty impressed with their take out. Usually there are no decent Thai restaurants in the area. When we pulled up the place was packed! There were ppl waiting outside for a table. So that was a great sign. Our food was ready for pick up at time promised. We ordered the garlic soy edemame. Unfortunately this was overcooked and the container it came in wasn't very good because most of the sauce spilled into the bag. If you love edemame skip this you'll be disappointed. A must have is their beef short ribs, delicious. Seasoned just right and oh so tasty. Will def order this again. We got their gyosa and that was also a let down it was dry and not very tasty, skip that too. Now their beef pad Thai was really good. Perfect amount of noodles to beef. We really enjoyed this dish and will have again. We did not have any of their sushi which I heard is delicious so I can't wait to review on that. read more

I've been here a couple of times before but never got around to reviewing it. Personally, I prefer to eat at a booth over the bar because you can't really keep track of how much you're buying and you never know how long the food has been sitting out on the boats. With that said, eating at the bar was definitely quite a unique experience, so I say you should give it a shot at least once, especially with a smaller party of people. Whenever I go to a Japanese restaurant, I ALWAYS order a miso soup. The miso soup here was eh. Not enough tofu. Not worth. I love love love the Happiness Roll and Miami Dolphin Roll (with seaweed instead of cucumber skin). For dessert, I've tried the tempura ice cream... Let's just say I've had better. Overall, the appetizers and entrees make up for the okay desserts. read more

My sister suggested we come here instead of Benihana and I wasn't disappointed. The clear soup was maybe a little too clear, I felt like it was mostly water but still edible. The salad was fresh and I was a fan of the ginger dressing. I ordered Hibachi Vegetable cause I don't eat meat and it was delicious I felt satisfied eating here which never happens as a vegetarian. There were many big parties and not enough Chefs. We were celebrating my brother turning 16 but it didn't feel special. It took about an hour between wait time and having our food order taken. Yesterday, I place an order for pick up. We were still on the road, about an hour away, they told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. About 15' before getting there, I give a quick call to see if the order is ready - I'm told something that they're finishing up. I got there - 3 waitresses to tell me : "let me check in the back" (needless to say they all looked pretty confused). Anyways, I came to find out the had given my order to somebody else by mistake. It's annoying but after all we're all human, mistakes happen, I get that. I'm told that as an apology they will give me a little extra (I hadn't asked, but great, I'll take it). I wait another 15 minutes or so, and get the hell out - I was starving. Got home to see that they didn't respect my order (out of 3 rolls, 2 were what we had actually ordered), no "little extra" (if you're not going to give it, then don't say you will!), and to finish, the rolls were completely falling apart. We could see that they were rushing to do them. As far as the taste, it wasn't worth the wait - which is odd, my past experience there I remember that it was really good. Disappointing from A to Z, and never going back. The only reason I'm putting 2 stars instead of 1 is because I did have a great meal about a year ago when I went. I guess inside the restaurant it is okay, but never order for pick up. Piece of advise for the staff : - communicate better, mistakes happen, it's okay - but it's better to tell me right away you screwed up and you're redoing it than to look at me smiling looking confused. - If you're going to offer something, make sure you are actually doing it - If you're going to redo an order, make sure it is ACTUALLY the exact order and that it's done properly, waiting is not fun, but waiting to be disappointed is terrible. read more

Stopped in on a rainy Sunday. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodated us with a Booth after a few minutes to clean it. It was happy hour ( 5-7pm daily) so we ordered house Merlot (very good ) & hot sake. Soup was good and reasonably priced. They brought out free edemame too. We had steamed shrimp dumplings...good, nothing unique or over the top, but good. I had the spicy girl tuna roll (great) & B/F had the happiness roll which he really enjoyed. Green tea was also good, as was the tempura banana desert! I think this is my new favorite sushi spot. Great modern decor & no funny smells inside. The floating sushi boats around the sushi bar looked really cool too, will have to try them out next time. I say YES, give Blue Ginger a try!!! read more

I really want to give this place 5 stars and if I could rate the service it would be a 10! We go there at 6:55p with a couple mins to get Happy Hour, great start! As per the recommendations of my fellow yelpers we got the Happiness Roll and it was amazing! Adding the steak was perfect, great flavor and the smokeyness went so well with th sushi roll. We also tried the mango and south beach roll. All delicious. The atmosphere was nice and I would do the sushi bar next time for a different experience. Saw the check in special and went to order it, apparently if you do happy hour you can't do the special. The manager wasn't very nice about explaining this - that's why they get the four stars. The special is only $4 and we got it anyway since our server was apologetic and great the entire night and they were good as well! I'll be back! read more

Love blue ginger! I haven't been there in a while! Last night my husband and I went there for dinner and the lychee sake was AMAZING! You have to try it. Also, we ordered crab Rangoons, and the happiness roll! It was amazing! We ended the night with Thai donuts. They were good, just needed a little fruit or something else with the donuts. Very fun experience, sitting at the bar and watching the sushi boats go by. Some of the plates are so complicated as to be unrecognizable. Could they put a number or a note with the dish? We took several dishes and ordered some standard rolls--California Roll and eel roll. Service, because of the boats, is a little difficult, so half a star lost for that. Also the first time I've ever been to a sushi place where wasabi and ginger wasn't produced immediately. I'd finished my miso soup and two plates before we had to ask. Fried items like shrimp coconut tempura and gyoza were excellent and piping hot even though they took the slow boat to get to us. Big plus. Had a great experience at Blue Ginger. We made reservations because we wanted a booth for a more intimate experience, but the bar would also be fun for a girls night out or a group. Our waitress was attentive and quickly refilled drinks. We ordered a few appetizers while we decided which rolls to order. The avocado salad was delicious, nice crisp greens and beautiful fans of avocado. The ginger dressing was good, not too sweet or strong. Pan fried gyoza was good, but not the best I've had. Edamame was cooked and seasoned well. I had heard good things about the happiness roll and the description looked good so I gave it a try. It was AMAZING! I highly recommend it! All of the other rolls we ordered were good as well. We didn't order desert as we were heading to a movie but I will definitely try some on my next visit. First time here and service was horrible! Wasn't greeted with a welcome greeting. It seemed to busy with the regulars so the waitresses seem to only care for them. We had a young Oriental girl that spoke fast you couldn't understand & she was quicker walking away from the table. The girl came up to us & said my sushi wasn't ready yet however everything else was. I said that was fine go ahead & bring out the rest of the food. Good thing I did because I did not get my Volcano roll(1 out of 2 rolls) for 15 to 20 mins after that. Granted it is a cooked roll however there is no explanation to why my roll came out after asking about it twice and the roll was COLD! She never came around to the table. Definitely won't be returning. Shame young people don't have work ethics! I'm sure the other sushi rolls are good! read more

I had dinner here for the first time and was surprised at how good it was. I was on a date, and luckily my date agreed siting at the sushi bar was preferable. I love their setup because unlike most sushi bars the chefs are in the middle and you can actually see everything thy are doing. They also have an open kitchen, which I love. On top of that they have a river going around the sushi bar with boats of sushi floating by so it's fun and interactive. Our server was really nice and attentive. We started with Beef Tataki, which was delicious. Then I got the Miami Dolphin Roll (without white fish) which was fabulous. Then I ordered The Yellowtail Maki and The Florida Roll. I asked for both without jalapeños. Unfortunately they did come out with jalapeño. I explained that I couldn't have them and our server was careful to ask if I was allergic so they'd remake the rolls (and not just pull the peppers off and send them back to me. I explained that my throat would close and she assured me they'd remake them. They came out fast at were both lovely. I'm sure I'll return, I really enjoyed it. read more

I heard a lot of people like this place for the sushi belt that continually revolves plates of food around. We didn't sit around the belt and opted for a booth because it was more convenient for 6 people. We ordered the gyoza, chicken wings, and chicken fried rice for appetizers. The chicken wings were overly breaded and even more overly sauced. Worst part was the inside of the wings were cold. The chicken fried rice was average. The gyoza was probably the best thing we ate that night but it's hard to mess up pan fried frozen dumplings. We also ordered the yellowtail maki roll and Florida roll. Though they looked promising, the flavors just weren't there. Very bland rolls and did not taste fresh at all. Overall just a disappointing meal especially for how much we paid. read more

They have two seating options. A bar style area where they make sushi in a revolving table aka sushi boats or regular tables. My friend and I decided for the booths. I ordered to start a glass of wine and shumai( dumplings). The dumplings come in 6 and they were very tasty. I also ordered the Blue Ginger Roll. I loved it! It was tasty and not bland.
