Very nice decor and very busy as i went on a saturday night. Had char grilled fish and jeera chicken wings for starters, fish was ok but the wings were not what i expected. It tasted more ginger than jeera. The other half ordered masala poppadoms and manchurian balls dry which were very tasty. For the msins i had a plain nan and special keema & chicken mix which wasn't oily but nice and spicy. The waiter was a bit demanding as to is that all your ordering and rushing us. Overall the place was ok and i would visit again with a group of more non veg eaters so we can sample a variety of dishes. read more

Great atmosphere and good service. The wait was slightly long even after booking but the food made it worth. Veg starters are all amazing and definitely recommend trying the garlic chilly mogo. A colleague of mine lives in this area and he is of Indian origins. He loves it and took me there. The place is big. Kind of half-pub and restaurant in a clean, light and friendly setting. Price are average. A main is about £8-9 (Feb.2010), starters £4-5. They have Cobra and Kingfisher beers. Menu is Indian: half veg, half non-veg And Oriental. We only tried the Indian part. I had a Medhi Chicken, Chilli Aubergines, Pilau Rice and Plain rice, Some paneer as starter. All dishes were very good, the quality of the meat was great. Portions are of good size as well, though not bigger than the other restaurant I know. Naan bread is good, pretty thin as well. Much better than any High Street Indian restaurant. I can only recommend this place for the quality of the food and overall atmosphere. read more

I've visited Blue Ginger twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. On both occasions I have found the service levels to be exemplary. The bar and waiting staff are extremely attentive and well trained in customer service it seems. The venue itself looks lovely; you can tell they've spent a lot of money on decorating the place and the ambience is fabulous. Unfortunately I found the food to be very average and rather pricey for what it actually is. I was pretty stunned to see a portion of boiled rice for £3.50. It's Kenton, not Central London! The cocktails are about £7 each and, to be honest, they aren't really made that well. I probably would visit this place again with friends as it's a relaxing environment to spend some time. Also, it's important to mention that they don't have music playing so it's easy to have relaxed conversations with your dining partner/group without having to shout to be heard. Be warned, you will need to book in advance at the weekends for a guaranteed time slot as it's a very popular place, although we called in the afternoon and were advised to come along and wait to be seated for about 9.30pm and we were shown to a free table by 9.30 after we'd had a drink at the bar. read more

Ive been to BJ three times till now and will always say this is a superb bar/restaurant. Their mixed platter is a boon for parties and tastes quite well. Their starters are top notch (8/10). Main courses are good (7/10), Desserts good taste but a small variety (8/10). It can be a bit pricey if you drink a lot (5/10). Nice place,good buzzy atmosphere and good range of interesting food. Only downside is it does get a bit busy so book early even for mid week nights when you would expect it to quieter. I guess that means it must be popular! I gave it 4 stars just because it can be a bit cramped sometimes depending on the table you get. read more

Came to this place with my sister since its quite local & looked quite cool from the outside. Didn't have to worry about parking, as they had their own private car park. Inside was a part sports bar, part restaurant, and a part where the two merge. Waiters were friendly, courteous and food arrived very quickly- however we did ask for the starters not to be brought out with the mains. We ordered 'crispy bhajia' and 'chilli paneer' for starters, both very tasty, and good portions. Took chicken tikka for mains which was very average, my sister taking chicken biryani- she seemed to really like it, I found it awful! we also ordered seekh kebab to try which was quite good! My favourite part of the meal was however their naan, served very warm, perfectly balanced between crispy and doughy! Bill came up to £42, so reasonably priced. I did have indigestion for about a day from all the fried food but that could very well be because my diet isn't used to it. Overall good for a casual meal out. read more

the atmosphere is very exciting we booked a table and were seated virtually on the dot. the starters didn't take long to come and when the arrived they were very tasty i recommend the masala mogo and the methi gotha. The mains were quite spicy but other than that they were very nice. We ordered a desert. It was 90% likely to have been a boxed one but i enjoyed in nonetheless. food was quite good, however, their staff were very confused and annoyingly stubborn i was astonished to find out at the end of the day that they charged me for another person who was not eating nor present on my table and when i complained about this, it was astonishing how stubborn and stupid some of their staff seemed to be as they continuously attempted to leech out the money from me and my friends. Having eaten at the Abercorn in Stanmore many times before it was closed (it has now re-opened) I recognised the style of the Blue Ginger menu straight away and I'm virtually certain the two establishments are owned by the same person. There are certain things on the menu I have never seen anywhere else and the style of the places (nice bar/restaurant) really feel very similar. The food at both is exemplary the Kenyan chicken on the bone is fantastic as is every single dish I tried. However I have to agree with other reviewers about the prices they are a bit higher than the norm. Tandoori paneer starter £7.50 (just homemade cheese after all), pilau rice £3.75, however it is not too bad considering the quality. (The takeaway I bought recently has ended up pretty expensive though as I got distracted driving down Camrose Avenue and went into a notorious stretch of bus lane so I'm now waiting for a £65 fine from Harrow Council, but that is another story). All in all I would say very good, its a great place to go with friends and have a few beers and some good food. As has been said booking is essential at weekends, even on Sunday night it was packed. If you want to try something a bit different from the normal Indian restaurant this is definitely the place, the food and the surroundings are a welcome change to the Chicken Tikka Masala and small high street venues of old. read more
