I didn't have to move to a western state with uncertain weather or politics. Chris is a wonderful, thoughtful, considerate gentleman. I am certain that at the root of this, there are communication errors. The thorough workers speak little English, for a start. The crazy weather lately, has kept Chris coming and going no doubt, like a dog chasing his own tail, trying to catch up, with his customer's work between heavy rain + winds. I'm sure it will all get sorted out. It was easier for me to explain things to the intelligent Latinos, than to the 2 locals who came to "manage" later. And I just missed Chris, I was told.

Horrible experience…read more I have a tricky spot to mow. I know its tricky. Thats why i wanted to hire a group to do it. I called and asked for someone to come out and confirm they could do the tricky spot. They swore they didnt need to. I insisted. We stood in the tricky spot, and i let them know this is the whole reason i want a mower. If this is mowed they are fine and if not i dont need them. The assured me it was fine. For about a month they mowed it. Then i noticed it looked like it was being skipped. I watched them skip it today. I called they sent someone back out to finish. He came with a supervisor or something to do it. They yelled and cussed for a while, and then mowed a different spot to bare dirt. Then got me and asked if that was everything. I said no, do the tricky spot. They refused and asked if they could go. I said if they werent going to mow, go ahead. Then i got an owner/manager/well spoken guy on the phone. He said i was a liar and we never discussed that section and it would cost a lot extra. I burned most of a day trying to get them to mow. Only good part was the refunded todays cut, and cancelled the contract without much work. Only use if you have a small, flat, square yard.

Tim at Caliber Tree Services responded to my inquiry almost immediately and offered to be at my house for an in-person estimate within just about an hour of my initial message. He arrived promptly and took a look at my project: a 90~ foot dead white oak in my backyard, which was hanging perilously over my house and had started to drop bark and small branches. He gave me a great estimate, and after a short back and forth, I decided to go with Caliber. The Caliber crew arrived at my house about 45 mins after the estimated time for the work to begin, but I was in communication with Tim and he had let me know they were delayed by their first job of the day. His crew got to work quickly and began taking the tree down. The crew worked safely, paying special attention to the adjacent fences and neighboring trees. Work was completed quickly! Tim and I had a brief miscommunication about whether stump grinding was part of the job but when he verified it was, he told me he'd have to come back by the end of the week with a grinder to get the job done. I was out of town when that day rolled around but Tim showed up as scheduled and then sent me an email with before/after pictures. Would happily work with Caliber again - excellent pricing, responsiveness, and communication. Thanks Tim and the Caliber crew!

I thought i was getting rid of a headache but a whole other one was left with me. Every time I see it I just feel upset. The last thing I needed was something else to be upset about. Edit: It was your company. If you would like to come back and clean it up that'd be great. And I'd update my three reviews left on various platforms. I wasn't even given the option to have all the debris cleaned up. Not even for more $ or anything. I told them I had no clue about the process and I guess instead of explaining they would leave all this stuff behind (which doesn't equate to the "removal" i requested) they just figured they saw someone they could get one over on. I thought they would just fill the hole but no it's a debris field. Very upsetting. We cleaned up some of it using contractor bags (and you can't even tell it's so much) and even the recycling guys who pick up yard waste said it was too heavy and they weren't going to take it anymore. Very disappointed in the service. Will not recommend.

If you are looking for a business to service your trees, Dubois Tree Service should be your choice…read morewithout a doubt. We have been using Dubois Tree Service for 20 years and we have never entertained the idea of using any other business and we have them out every year to help our trees stay healthy. We recently (Saturday, July 4th, 2026) had a microburst storm that literally destroyed 8 trees on our property. These trees were all about 40 years old from when we built the house. Dubois Tree Service was out on our property the following Tuesday at 8:00 with a full crew. They not only worked on our property, but also on several other properties that day. It took two days to totally clean our property, but they were out in our neighborhood six days in a row helping people with MAJOR storm damage. The quality, the professionalism, the commitment to making sure everything is done correctly, and pricing is second to none. The owner Jimmy was with the crew everyday and his wife Christine in the office kept us up to date while I am sure she was managing a hundred different calls as this again was a MAJOR storm. As you can tell by this post I cannot say enough good things about this company. If you ever want to hear more about this company from me, contact them directly, they will give you my phone number.
