I called Blue Dot when I started experiencing a problem with my new furnace and they scheduled me for two days later. I couldn't wait that long and asked around to my other HVAC buddies. Through their help, I quickly found the issue and began taking their recommended steps. By the time that Blue Dot tech arrived and looked over what I had started, he agreed that I had identified the problem and prevented it from getting worse with my course of actions. I booked a service to get my sump pump replaced. I informed the tech that I was out of state and would have a family member there for the appointment. We set a Thursday at 1200 appointment. I told the tech multiple times due to my job I wouldn't be reachable by phone the day of the appointment. He assured me that was not an issue. My son in law came to my house at 1130 by my ring camera plenty of time for the1200 appointment. They never showed up. My son in law waited until after 1600. I never got any notice of why they didn't show I call my son in law after I got off work he said they never showed up. I called blue dot and they said he didn't show up because I didn't answer my phone when they called the day of the appointment. I told them what I told the tech about not being able to receive call while at work. They said they could reschedule. I told them that since it was pouring rain according to the radar my house was most likely flooding because they failed to meet the obligation of installation of my sump pump. I also explained i was still out of state and my son in law couldn't take off another day of work. Here is the preappointment text.We'd like to shoot for noon or afternoon if 12-2 works for you that'd be great.Thursday 6/25 @ 1200 works great my son in law will be there. Remember I'm out if town and can't get calls Day of appointment. No problem. I did receive damage due to flooding that night due to the failure to do the job i hired them to do. They quoted me a price of $3100 to do that replacement. I was able to get it done by someone else much cheaper but with the cost of the damage im still out over $4000. I had an outside, standard garden faucet outlet that needed a new gasket because it was leaking. I have the "high dollar" service contract of which I pay $35/mo. Service person came out late in the afternoon and replaced the gasket. Twenty minutes. Charged me $over 400.00! I'll be changing my plumbing service company. Blue Dot USED to be great...they sold out to a nation-wide company and upped their pricing! Also, be aware: The replies seen on here from "Jeremiah M." is an AI bot! Likewise the voice you hear on the phone that "talks" to you is also an AI bot! You are neither typing to or speaking with a real person the whole time! I haven't been this impressed with a business in a long time! Very responsive to inquiries, was able to get an appointment for an estimate right away, was kept informed every step of the way by Quinton, and when Gary showed up (on time), he was thorough, friendly, respectful and honest. Although we aren't going to be able to use their service this time (house too old and small for their equipment) Gary still went out of his way to get us additional information. I had scheduled asking if Blue Dot would please clean out our lent trap to the outside from the dryer. The first date scheduled they called mid afternoon and said I would be rescheduled due to storm the previous weekend. Second reschedule they called mid afternoon to tell me they wouldn't get to me because they had technicians call in. Third reschedule I called at 12:30 and was informed I was next on list so they wouldn't call ahead they were coming. I called at 3:45 and was told, sorry they had to send the technician to help another situation but they were still coming. I then got a text from technician saying I was not answering door, but I was outside looking for them and they were not at correct address. Then when he came in, he did the check and gave me the quote. I told him to please complete the service. I was informed when I scheduled the dryer vent clean out they had fully stocked trucks. The technician now told me, yes, he will do it today but he has to go back to shop to get supplies. So I am hoping he comes back and completes the service but extremely frustrated as I have spent a lot of time waiting on this service and do not feel that Blue Dot services respects their clients time and have not followed through as they should. read more

Extremely unhappy with the charge for replacing SHP2 capacitor for our outside ac unit was exorbitantly high. Technician had not given estimate upfront. Also he took old capacitor and not returned to us. He was not at all helpful answering few questions. Not preferring to recommend to other customers. I received a response to my complaint about being overcharged by Blue Dot. For example, $700 for "roughing in" when no roughing in was needed, as far as I can tell. In his response, Jeremiah M. stated "please feel free to contact our management team at 785-272-1633. We'd appreciate the opportunity to make things right." I called there twice and talked to an employee each time. I was told that I would get a call back from management both times, but on both occasions no one responded. I did not receive a return call. Showed up 1 hour late. Tracked in mud. Defecated in my toilet. Spilled a 20 oz soda, cleaned up 10%, and tracked it thru the house on their shoes. Left my front door unlocked. Quoted $950, charged $975 Had to call for receipt. Sand, debris, even a red marker in the top of duct. Called, told to call back in 30 minutes, called back, told manager was off. Told to call tomorrow. I requested the manager call me, they said ok but if she doesn't call by noon, go ahead and call back. I've never spoken to the manager. Carson, gentleman that gave quote, and other manager that took the message showed wonderful customer service. I have been a customer of Blue Dot for a long time. Since they have changed the way that they do business I have become increasingly disappointed. They used to be as they used to be "customer" oriented. Now they come out look at the units. They decide that you need some expensive item. You have a choice of purchase, but not until after a hard need sales pitch. Blue Dot used to be about service, but now it seems to be solely about money. I gave it 2-Stars as Blue Dot doesn't deserve a 1-Star, but it doesn't deserve the 2-Stars. 1 and 1/2 Stars would be more accurate. read more

The repair person was excellent. He came on time and had the old water tank out and a new one installed perfectly.

We had an emergency appt today and waited all day for the tech to show up. All we got was a phone call saying he was unqualified to do the job and if he was he didn't even have the parts to do the job. By then it was too late to call other options. We will not use your service again!!! read more

Called Blue Dot to put in a new sink in my kitchen. They quoted $2,800 to put a new sink, faucet and garage disposal. I already had the sink, faucet and disposal purchased. This was installation only. Went with a different company and only paid $400. read more

After being told that the tech on sight would give me a free quote for a stopped up sink I was surprised when I was told that I would need to pay at least $350 just so that it could be looked at. The tech wanted to up sell me on a subscription plan. After refusing this and feeling stuck we paid the $350. The second day after the clog was supposedly removed the sink started to back up again. We reached out and they said it was our fault. They said we needed a water jet service for $1.2k to clear the pipe. I went and bought a snake from Lowes and was able to fix the issue myself, and I know nothing about plumbing. Please stay away from these people. read more

They work with my predatory landlord and issued a quote to merely wrap ductwork in my 1 BR apartment so it was THOUSANDS of dollars in excess of what it would cost to do a HOUSE! No itemization. Refused to itemize! Just gave generalized excuses....for thousands of dollars in excess. As if I wasn't going to price this out myself? And they were asked by the predatory landlord to do a quote (again for me to pay) to install a handicap handbar - not into anything plumbing related. Just drywall. 30 minutes and not even something really they should be agreeing to. But they wanted $159. Again, no itemization and somehow it took DAYS to get that quote. Found out later that it is common practice to do it for free - even for them. Except when working with a predatory landlord? These people are the WORST. Dishonest. Shady. My 95 year old mother-in-law had two toilets with minor tank to bowl leaks. This Blue Dot company came out to repair them when she called them because her sons weren't there at the time to fix it. They charged her $500 to tighten up the screws on her toilet tanks and told her it was an emergency repair, which it wasn't. It was a standard callout to fix a minor leak during normal business hours. These people are thieves taking advantage of a 95 year old great grandmother. read more

Terrible company. I was scheduled for an 11:30 call back in October and they arrived at 12:08. I was paying someone to let them in as I was out of state and told the receptionist who took the call what my circumstances were. Spoke to Tammy who wasn't polite but said she would listen to the call. But not before she flat out told me "they don't give timeframes" Funny we spoke today and she admits I was given an exact time. I Figured bc of all the issues my bill would be credited and from what I recall she was letting management know, because I never received anything I figured the manager credited it. 3 months later get a 200 bill. I am so disgusted with the plumbing end of this company. After having Nick speak to me with an attitude and insisting the slippery feel of the water softener was the oil on my skin, which it is not, I was so disgusted I requested no contact from this employee. As one with 60 hours of upper division biology and chemistry, I feel I understand molecules well enough that I don't need to be told how or why to filter my water. I don't want a water softener, never did, never will. All I wanted was a whole house water filtration system as the water in some areas has a moldy smell which means mold spores are getting in the water. After feeling insulted by Nick I specifically told Blue Dot we no longer wanted any contact with him; that we would only speak with other plumbing employees other than the plumbing manager and that we did not want him in our home. Well, he called us at 8:23am and left a message. We are done. We are no longer going to have them as our plumber. We are having the water softener removed and hiring someone else to do the filtration we originally asked for. We will look into other plumbing companies and when our contract runs out, we will use the heating and cooling contractor who installed our geothermal. Such a shame, but for Nick, we would have given them a glowing recommendation. read more

Product is great. Installation was sloppy. Trim pieces too long or too short. Color match caulk could not cover all of the flaws. A leg piece on a shower panel was broken. The installer tried to fix it, but it looks terrible and is the first thing everyone sees in this expensive remodel. read more

SCAM ALERT. I'm a former employee of blue dot, the new owners are out to take customers money anyway they can. The sales guy are so greedy to make commissions they lie test steal to make the sale. Today a service tech Chad N. Was out to my parents house today. Blue dot once offered a " blue agreement" a service contract that is paid once a year and with this service you get 2 clean and checks. One for winter and one for summer. To start off it's August and just now checking my father's unit for summer. Well summers half over. Today was the second service. If my father wanted to start a new agreement he would sign up today and pay. The charges are now monthly of 14.xx. my father denied renewing. As I'm nolonger a employee of blue dot. Chad proceeded to tell my father he had to pay the 14.95. This would enter him into a new contract. Chad told my father it won't that was for today's service. Reminder today's service was already paid for. I told Chad we will not be paying and didn't want to renewal. Chad proceeded to tell us we now will be charged a full service charge and labor for the service today. Chad makes commissions every time he sales something, he as well as the other workers are so greedy to get the commissions they are scamming the customers. I was a first hand witness to a situation like this where Chad lied to a elderly couple to sell a system. Then the couple cried to me while I installed there system. They stated they couldn't afford it. But Chad told them if there system broke down during summer. Due to covid they won't get there system fixed for at least 3 weeks as we can't get parts. Dang well knowing topeka has many parts houses and available parts. Blue dot is no longer a family owned, home town trusted place. I would let these crooks even speak to me on the phone. A technician came out to service our heat pump/AC unit. Something went wrong with the install and our unit caught fire three days later. Our house filled with smoke. Luckily we were home to shut the unit off or we would be homeless right now. We called Blue Dot multiple times and spoke the the Manager Nate. He cussed my entire family out, told us that we should have just called 911, he told us that it's not their problem and that they won't be sending someone out to look at the unit. Now he is screening our calls. Never use this business unless you want to experience something like this. If I could give a negative star review I would. This place is terrible. read more

Blue Dot are great folks to work with. They come on schedule and offer quick services during an emergency. Two years ago they fixed my furnace in the middle of the night when it was freezing outside. Last year they installed a new electric water heater. This year they adjusted the fan speed on my A/C, so it would blow cold air more efficiently and they serviced the whole system, and installed a smart thermostat. Great folks to work with and their prices are fair as the work they do, is quite exceptionable compared to the rest. read more
