This thrill ride was one of our highlights on our recent trip to Kauai. We did the sunset ride and it didn't disappoint, we saw spinner dolphins about half hour into the trip. We saw waterfalls and flying fish also. The ride was a little bumpy which is expected but amazing clear day. We did take a dose of Bonine before going ( just to be on safe side) and no sickness issues- I wanted to make sure that I was able to drink those Mai Tais!!!! The crew was lots of fun and the buffett meal was actually good. There are benches throughout the ship to sit and views from everywhere. I would recommend this afternoon trip. I would also suggest to go to the Waimea town before, and take drive to Waimea Canyon which is only about 45 minutes further from where you board the ship. Hanapepe is also a good stop to make a full day of it. read more

Even though my wife and I were both a bit nervous about being on a boat for four hours, we had an amazing experience on the sunset dinner cruise and are so glad we did it. The crew was fabulous! One of the top five days OF MY LIFE was spent on the Blue Dolphin catamaran along the Na Pali coast. Our crew was amazing. Captain Chris, Danny, and Danielle, literally the A team, took us out at 8 am, fed us delicious food, and showed us the mystical northwestern coast of Kauai. We had our two small children with us, and they were captivated. Our four year old even snorkeled! While at sea, we saw dolphins, whales, and sea turtles. I can't say enough about this incredible day except for that I would recommend it as the absolute best use of your time and money when visiting Kauai. read more

What an experience! JR was the captain and he commanded raft during winter time exceptionally skillfully, we didn't experience any problems. Weather was close to perfect, he did perfect maneuver in "missing ceiling sea cave", which was on my bucket list, I wish he could have repeated that on my ask! Whole raft tour experience was very relaxing and worth every single penny we spent. Food was decent and Colleen filled cooler with ample drinks! And did I mention those coconut and chocolate chips cookies at the end?!!, They were perfectly backed and delicious! Only complaint I have is about photo opportunity at NaPali coast turnaround place right by Cathedrals and scenic postcard view. That place is the main attraction and we didn't get good pictures there. I would recommend recording cameras on boat-raft and offering some time to take pictures in nicer conditions to enjoy the experience when you go back to home as during moving raft it's not safe to take pictures. We saw dolphins jumping middle of ocean, whales, sea turtles and seal! Snorkeling was ok, but I didn't expect much from it. Overall, I would highly recommend raft tour with blue dolphins. read more

This was not a five star experience. It was the TEN STAR highlight of our Kauai vacation. This was our 2nd time in five years to go with Blue Dolphin to look for whales. Captain Nate was everything you'd expect for the guy at the helm - knowledgeable, skilled, engaging, kind, funny and patient. Ask him about the chickens he raises and their eggs! The trio of crew mates - Jeffrey, Travis and Kai were top of their game. Continually helpful even before you knew you needed anything. Great bartenders and conversationalists. We never got the sense that we were just more of "the crowd." So, what's the tally for today's sunset whale-watching cruise? Four whale sightings. Two warm chocolate chip and coconut cookies. Two Wonder Woman cocktails. Two beers for hubby. And, one incredible sunset with the green light. (Truly. Look for the green.). Oh, also add in the yummy chicken tenders and veggie rolls, topped with Hawaiian pineapples. Ask for Nate and JTK. An outstanding experience and worth every cent. read more

We had a great time on the Napali Snorkel Dinner Tour with Captain Chad. It was a windy day and the water was choppy so we didn't get to spend too much time swimming and snorkeling. However it was more than made up with an extra long trip up the Napali coast. We almost went all the way to Wainiha and got to see some amazing waterfalls. On the way back, there was karaoke with many people taking part. The ride ended with everyone doing the Cupid Shuffle as we entered the port. High energy ride. Lots of fun! read more

We could not have asked for a more beautiful way to end our trip. We took the sunset Na Pali Coast tour, and it was very fun and entertaining. The waiters, Matt and Orlando, were super friendly and helpful. They were full of a ton of knowledge and were always around to help. The food was delicious and there was more than enough for everyone on board. We definitely would suggest this as a good way to see the island. read more

My boyfriend and I took the 7am tour to Na Pali. It was a little early for him on vacation but he can suffer from sick sickness and when I checked to book I was advised to go early because the surf and waves tend to be calmer. I am so glad we headed that advise. Our trip was smooth sailing the entire trip. The captain and his crew were great. They were attentive to everyone on the boat. Came around and offered water, drinks and took trash from everyone and just made everyone's lives so easy on the boat. Even thought it was a smooth ride some people who are not use to being on a boat can fall as one lady did and knocked herself out. But the crew tended to her immediately and got her back on track. We also dove this trip and the dive instructor was also great. Not a lot to see on the dive but there were so cool swim throughs. It was a 30 minute dive. Would definitely go again. read more

My husband and I took the Napali Coast sunset dinner cruise the other night. The captain and crew were very helpful and accommodating. They made sure that everyone had drinks, snacks, a comfortable seat, they answered questions, and offered stories and facts about the Coast. If you are prone to motion sickness, be prepared- it is a very rough ride, at least the night that we went. The dinner was adequate, although it was slightly difficult to eat while on a rocking ship with the plate on your lap. The sunset was beautiful, and we even saw several whales, which was an incredible experience. We recommend this trip with Blue Dolphin! read more

We had a great trip on the adventure tour. Capt Ben made our trip with tons of interesting stories about the history, marine life and culture of the Island. And he expertly navigated the sea caves which was a total trip. He even took us past the normal point of return since the weather was spot which showed he was truly invested in making sure his guests had an amazing trip. Amber was also terrific and was so kind taking care of a seasick guest. Whomever gave this tour less than five stars must not have had Capt. Chad and his crew. We did a whale/dolphin watching tour and it was phenomenal! We saw about 20 whales within 103 yards and too many spinner dolphins to count. Our son, who is three, LOVED it. Definitely recommended for all ages. The captain was funny, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone was having fun. The crew was outstanding. I've done just about every tour this island has to offer and this is by far my favorite. I usually come in the Summer when the whales are no longer present so I'm so glad we were able to do this. If you're wavering on which tour to take, take this tour, you will not regret it! read more

An amazing experience. Captain Chad + Mike/Joff were absolutely sweet and funny. Five main things: 1. We were able to snorkel and they even had prescription goggles which is usually unheard of. 2. The water was pretty choppy but the three of them were able to help seasick passengers very well. 3. We got to get pretty up close to a waterfall. It looks like other boating companies were not able to get as close as we were. 4. They made it a point that we saw as much marine lief as we could - turtles, dolphins, and 2 whales. 5. Captain Danny was awesome. 1 of the crew members, 5 stars. The other Zero. The trip was over all, incredible. And exactly what I expected. Plus more. And then there was the 'more' I didn't expect, and it still bothers me months later. Before turn around, the creepy crew member from the state of Maine, plants 2 of his fingers on my knee, rubs them up my thigh, and says: that's a nice tan you have there. I'm pretty confident had I mentioned it to the Captain, this fella would have been thrown overboard. But is often the case when one is so shocked, we freeze. At shore, I was leading the line to get to the parking lot after getting off the boat. I'm disappointed that I was on an amazing boat ride, to see something as ancient and majestic as the NaPali Coast, and this is the only thing I can think about. This shouldn't deter any of you from taking this cruise. Just have a buddy with you. I was solo. Lesson learned. read more

We did the zodiac / raft adventure. Adventure with a capital "A"! It was awesome. Saw three huge pods of dolphins and plenty of turtles. Johav was our Captain and was awesome. He knew all the history and was a very capable captain. Very knowledgeable. He was able to get us into 3 sea caves. Ruby - his Assitant - was also super. They made the trip memorable. One word... "Fantastic"! I went on a Blue Dolphin tour with my entire honors program, a rather large group of 27+... Although there were many of us, our crew members, Danny, John, and the Captain (can't remember his name, sorry!) made us feel so important, remembering each of our names and making small talk. Unfortunately, it had rained the day before and the waters were a bit rough and murky. None the less we were still able to snorkel with some sea turtles, see some dolphins, and breathtaking whales. Now.. If you are thinking of doing this tour, be absolutely SURE that you take some dramamine (or some sort of motion sickness pill). I took this pill an hour before hand and had no issues getting sick; however, most of my peers spent quite a bit of time puking into the beautiful waters of the Na Pali Coast rather than admiring them. Even if you don't believe you can or will get sick, take the pills! Although many of us were ill, the crew was phenomenal. Checking on everyone constantly, and making absolutely sure that they all had the necessities (hair ties, bags, water, bread, etc.) to make their experience a tad bit better. Needless to say, if you do start to feel a little weary, you are in FABULOUS hands! Altogether, this trip was an absolute blast! A once in a lifetime experience for sure. If you have the chance, book with this crew, and definitely book with Blue Dolphin Charters. Your crew and tour guides are everything on these trips and I could not have been more thankful for their knowledge of the island, animals, and "aloha" attitude. This tour was definitely one of the best parts about visiting the island. The crew was awesome and very personable. They made their way around to everyone making sure all were having a great time. We saw probably 5-6 different pods of spinner dolphins along the way and the captain spun the boat around a few times and played with them making sure everyone was enjoying the experience. The captain gave awesome local knowledge and history throughout the entire trip. The views of the Napali coast were spectacular of course. They chose an amazing snorkel spot that had a sea turtle that hung around us most of the time. They provided food and drinks during the trip. The sandwich bar had an excellent spread with many choices. I didn't partake in the drinks, but many others did and looked like they were enjoying themselves. They had many other choices for those who didn't drink. The tour, the boat, and the sights were fantastic, but the crew was the icing on the cake. Joel, Matt, Cole and Heather. My family and i were really looking forward to our Napali Coast sunset boat ride. When we arrived Captain Joe told us the waters were a bit dicy for our trip but he would aim to navigate as best he could but may have to use an alternate route if things got rough. Everyone was pretty satisfied with that and we pushed on. Along the way the we saw a huge pod of dolphins and some great views of the coast. At this point the waters turned a bit rough and for the safty of everyone aboard we ended up taking an alternate route. The two crew mwmbers on hand, Danny and Ben, were great checking up on everyone making sure we all had anything we could possibly need. Water, pretzels, mai tai's, and left over Halloween chocolate. This was a great experience for my family to share and we felt like we were in safe capable hands. A huge nod to the entire crew for being extra attentive to my uncle. He's been recovering over a year from a stroke and the crew took great care and made sure he was 100% comfortable. They treated him as part of their ohana. It was a toss up between a diving tour or dinner cruise. My wife and I decided for the dinner cruise. We didn't regret it. The boat crew made the tour, the scenery was outstanding. Capt. Roy put the tip of the boat under two small waterfalls. So fun! We had the bonus of having dolphins swim by the boat for a few minutes. I would certainly recommend this tour. Took a catamaran to the Na Pali coast and snorkel tour. Very nice! The crew was great and spent most of their time making sure you had whatever you needed. The views were breathtaking. The snorkeling was good. If you want to scuba dive I recommend going with one that specializes in that. Even though they offer scuba this is a snorkeling tour not scuba. I recommend the catamaran over the rafts if you want a smooth easy time. The rafts beat you up. The food was a make it yourself sandwich that was great. Started off with some 'meh' snorkeling in choppy waters, but the rest of the day was amazing. Super fun sight seeing along the west and north coasts (Dolphin pods, sea turtles, gorgeous cliffs and valleys and rainbows). It was ok, it's not like it used to be. They run out of food One of our friend is vegetarian and got SICK from the food they provided some kind of trashy food. This tour is one of those memories I wish I could bottle up in some magical storage and relive the moment live as I please. The only sunset charter that allows toddlers. Pros: Captain Chad, Captain Chad, Captain Chad Cons: none I truly believe Captain Chad made the difference for our 5 stars experience. He is a straight shooter when it comes to your safety and humorous the rest of the times. He sailed us to parts of the island no other charter goes including dipping the bow of boat under a waterfall for an exhilarating "shower." The food was surprisingly delicious and warm. On the sail back, Captain Chad led an impromptu karaoee session that just sets the tone to a dance battle later with another boat. All in all, my family including three-year old had a fantastic time. One of our favorite parts of our Kauai trip! My friends and I are all young women and took a trip to Kauai to celebrate my birthday and while booking activities came across the Blue Dolphin rafting/snorkeling adventure. We booked it and all had the time of our lives. Our Captain Dave was more than awesome! He was hilarious and took us to see some of the most beautiful caves along the Na Pali coast. The sites were unbelievable and the mood was nothing short of perfection. If you go to kauai I would 100% recommend this activity and requesting Dave as your captain! We (family of five) lucked out on this one! Was able to book this one fairly late in our planning and it turned out to be one of my family's faves of our events to Hawaii. Boat was big so you could choose how much wave-adventure you wanted (Front - lots of motion , lots of waves) or in the back where the boat was more steady, dry and calm. Crew was amazing, very informative, and interactive with everyone, while being in tuned to everyone's needs! As a matter of fact, our older cab driver who lived in Kauai all his life, was amazed how much we told him about what we saw and the history behind each, just based on our captain's info. Crew dealt with the the two n board who were sea-sick and the two who did not listen to the safety instructions given which resulted in their scrapes or cuts (that the captain warned them about). Scenery was awesome along the Napoli Coast! Food was delicious and plentiful (we've been on other charters where the food was was "par"). Snorkeling was good for reef structure but was average for fish / wildlife quantity. I would highly recommend this trip and outfit. My 12-yr old said "this is my favorite thing we've done on the the islands!" read more
