The service team was amazing. I was in and out same day and everything was done just as they said.

Went in for a part after I had a blowout on my camper. I know the part was $72. The parts guy told me there is a 40% up charge. He then told me total was $120, before taxes and shipping. I'm not a mathematician but I know 40% of $72 is not $48. I argued with him for a few mins but then realized it was completely pointless. He just pointed at the screen and said "that's what the system is calculating." I left and called three other authorized Grand Design dealers and they all gave me a quote of $99. I just felt like he was intentionally trying to rip me off...or apply the "Boerne tax.". If you go there, just double check all the prices they give you. Felt slimy. I won't be back there for anything. Too bad, I know I would have upgraded my camper before too long and this would have been my first stop. read more

I will start off with the quality of the RV and Blue Compass is amazing. Blue Compass of Boerne should not be allowed to operate under that name. I wanted to start lookin gat a RV in August of last year, I didn't read the reviews, the other sites bragged about Blue Compass, nothing about Boerne. The sales team called me every week, even when I told them I was out of the country. I explained in August and every other time Aaron called that it would not be till the end of the year and the we would pay cash. November we went in to start looking for the exact RV. Frank convinced us to do a soft hit on our credit, even though we were paying cash, to receive an additional $6000 discount They did a HARD hit. They did hits on our credit in November again November 27, December 28, 2024 and again after we purchased on January 6 and 7 of 2025. We purchased on December 31, 2024. When we contacted the finance department they said it was beyond their control that they had handed it to a third party. Frank was asking who even did this to us and when we said it was him he walked out of the office. DONT TRUST THEM!!! read more

If I could give a negative review, I would. My family and I were camping at a local state park and the AC on my unit went out. I called Blue Compass and spoke with John. He confirmed with the technician that the list of parts for a replacement AC were the correct ones needed (they weren't). I had a mobile technician to change out the entire unit (roof top AC, ceiling inside and thermostat). Upon arrival to install the parts I had picked up, he explained that whoever I dealt with didn't know what they were doing. He was able to install a ceiling vent that was somewhat compatible and we could have AC for the night (August 102 degrees daily). I reached out the next morning, John wasn't in. Spoke with Sandra (parts manager) and explained the situation. Let her know that I was sold the wrong parts and would be returning them. Once at the RV lot, she was unwilling to show compassion for the snafu that her department had caused. I asked to speak with her manager, Adolfo, he seemed to come in guns blazing that they would not be able to compensate me for the service call from the mobile tech (since I was provided with the incorrect parts) or any part of it. That I should be lucky that they accepted the return of the incorrect item in the first place. I would like to offer my caution to anyone purchasing a RV here or any particular parts. The lack of professionalism is apparent and I wish them the best of luck with their business. read more

My husband and I decided to trade in our travel trailer for a motorcoach. After visiting several RV dealerships, we stopped in Blue Compass. What a breath of fresh air! Cooper, our sales rep, knew his "stuff"! No high pressure sales, just the facts about each motorcoach, features and what might best suit our life style. Again, there was absolutely no pressure to buy! Cooper was courteous, friendly,attentive to our wants and our price point.We walked away telling each other " did we just find the perfect place to buy?" When we finally decided to buy, they honored the price they told us for our trailer with no bait and switch tactics. Everyyhing they told us they honored. Josh, the finance manager, asked what we wanted our monthly payment to be and by God he delivered! Again, no extra add on money, just what WE wanted. They even picked up our old trailer from our home so we wouldn't have to tow it in. We are delighted with our purchase and our dealing with Blue Compass. Nice people. I bought my RV in July of 2023. Had to redo most all of the paperwork, multiple times. Still do not have the necessary paperwork from their titling company to register my RV. 13 MONTHS, NO PLATES. I cannot register my vehicle. There is no resolution in sight. It is a revolving cycle of apologizes and no forward movement. They tell me sorry this is a mess. Still with no resolution. Still can't get license plates. I have to say that Blue Compass in Boerne has to be the worst purchase experience ever. I have purchased over 7 Travel trailers in my lifetime and would rate this at the very bottom of the list. The sales person was very helpful, but after that, horrible. Was sold an extended warranty that covers almost nothing (as I tried to get a leak fixed and it wasn't covered as it was around a window.???? ? Anyway, requested a refund for the warranty and had another smaller, locally owned dealer fix the leak (blue compass couldn't find it after taking it to them twice). Further, Blue compass said the refund would take 8 weeks and would go to the bank. 10 weeks later, no refund and the finance guy who sold it to me will no longer take my calls or respond to emails. I'd give it NO stars if I could. Went there trying to purchase an RV & got NO help!! They didn't want to even show us any rigs (& we were ready to drop a lot of cash on a big rv.) The "sales manager", no less, actually pointed out in the lot & told us "they're All open & what you want to see is all the ones past that one ." Well we only found 3 open, out of hundreds!! We went back in, after figuring out on our own, by going online, the stock numbers & models we wanted to see & he couldn't have cared less. He once again said "they're ALL open." We again said , "no, they're not!" A maintenance person overheard us & told us, "if they're locked, their either sold or in for repairs." REALLY, hundreds of rigs on their lot & they're ALL either sold or needing repairs???? Guess you don't need our business or anyone else's. Good luck on that business plan. read more

Not a honorable dealer! Found travel trailer there that I liked. Made an offer, they countered and I accepted. I'm told that my credit is excellent and that they could finance me with 0 down. They even told me that the trailer was going to be mine. Almost 2 hours later they tell me that they can't get me financing because I don't have enough credit history. I bought a new Grand Design Solitude 380FL from ExploreUSA in Boerne. The sales experience was okay. I had already decided what model I was going to buy before I showed up. We agreed on a price quickly, I did not push back on the price. Kevin was friendly and the purchase was as expected. Delivery... this was the first interaction with service and it went downhill from there. We had a few small items that needed to be addressed, like any new RV. The strike plate on the door needed to be adjusted. The tech used a hammer and dented the frame of the door. It looked like it was in a hailstorm. That service visit took over 30 days. They order another door. Thirty more days. You could see daylight at the top. The fix was grabbing the top of the door and putting their knee in the middle and flailing until it bent to seal. The next door # 3, after another 30-day stay at the dealership, was bent and looked like it was drug across the floor before installing. There is dirt in the calking and the trim on the interior bows out and does not touch the wall. Wall plug does not have a face plate after repair. Freshwater dump handle was replaced with the wrong part. You have to crawl under the RV to reach it. Heater does not work after they replaced the thermostat. Always dirty from the repair work when delivered. Damaged window trim when replacing blind. At this point, I asked to talk to the General Manager, Joe Lazzarino. He was zero help and simply wanted me to go away. He quickly agreed to write a letter to use another service provider for my warranty work. When I asked for the letter he replied "Perfect". He ignored emails and phone calls. I am now in possession of the parts and have another repair session scheduled. The independent repair facility indicated that I was one of many that he gets to clean up after ExploreUSA provides terrible service. I tried to partner with them for over a year and the dealership lacks the structure and leadership to deliver a good experience. I am very frustrated. read more

Just a few days into our 10,000 mile cross country tour (and far from our Los Angeles home) we began to suspect that our Tahoe needed a larger drop on the hitch we were using to tow our Lance travel trailer. We scrambled around to locate a Lance dealer and were lucky enough to find ExploreUSA and service advisor Kris Camacho. After parking our trailer at Admiralty RV park in San Antonio, we plunged into late afternoon traffic and headed for ExploreUSA RV in Boerne, about 30 miles away. Despite arriving just before closing time, Kris was determined to take good care of us. He took me out to one of their Lance RVs and patiently explained how the Lance frame construction required special fitting, a little different from the hitch setup that I had purchased. And he told me what I needed. Bad news: They didn't have the parts I needed at their location. Good news: Kris located the part at a different ExploreUSA RV location... which was just about to close for the day. Bad news: There was no way I could get there in rush hour traffic in time to have them install it. Good news: Kris arranged for the purchase over the phone, drove to the other location himself, on his way home from work that day to pick it up. Best (and most amazing!) news: Kris then proceeded to Admiralty RV Park "on his way home" [really?], located our Tahoe, pulled out his tools and then took apart our trailer hitch/leveling assembly and fit it with the new drop hitch part. While he worked, he admitted that he was worried I might not install and adjust it properly myself and he wanted to make sure that my wife and I had a safe trip. By the time he was finished, it was nearly 7:30 pm, well after his work day should have been completed. In all my 70 years on this planet, I have never seen such "above and beyond" customer service. I felt like I had a very smart grandkid looking out for me! Thanks to Kris' concern and initiative, we have subsequently logged many thousands of safe, solid handling on America's sometimes dangerous, broken-up roadways. I searched for an RV dealer to consign our pop-up camper. ExploreUSA was more than willing to have it in the lot. When I would call every few weeks to check up on the sale of it, I would leave a message with someone and would not get a response for several days. I would end up having to call them back and speak to the person who had my information. my husband and I picked up the camper on Friday and after inspecting, it realized that the keys were lost. They were not very helpful and trying to help us find the keys and the repair man that semi helped us said he would order some more keys. Fast forward three days, I called today to check up on the progress of getting keys. They had to order a whole new lock, which will have to be changed out in three different locks. their customer service is not reliable. I was very angry that the keys were lost and they weren't trying to make it a priority to find them. We were there for an hour waiting for someone to help find the keys. read more

I gave them a 1 star because that is all that I can give but, as far as I'm concerned I would give them a 0. It's been a horrible experience with this Rv Sales store. My experience is not one I would want anyone to go thru . We purchased our Rv here thinking we would get a brand new Rv in new condition as far as it goes. When we went t pick it up and because they delayed our pick up for several weeks. Then when we went to pick it up. We discovered it had hail damaged and we could not do anything about it. They did not tell us about this and they did not have it clean or ready.The mattress was all torn up and with splinters on both sides of the mattress it had stains on the mattress as well. It's been a hassle. The radio is not working because they did not hook it up. They want me to leave it there for 4- 6 weeks for that and I told them they were crazy! It's been horrible!! I don't recommend this store to anyone and beware they talk it all nice but, when it comes down to it it's all BS. I'm so upset because we had been saving to buy a brand new Rv not a damaged one and that is what we got. People beware!! Of purchasing here because you might have the same experience I did. My son and his bride bought a fithwheel from Explorer RV in Boerne last May 2019. The fithwheel is a Beautiful 2018 Redwood. At the time of purchase they also purchased an extended warranty for the unit. This winter when traveling to New Hampshire they experienced trouble with the emergency braking system the trailer has and one of the tires locked up causing it to catch fire. They had to have the trailer towed but because of the area they were in had great difficulty finding a towing company and RV dealership to tow it. My son and his wife ended up having to leave their fithwheel with a mechanic in Indiana were it broke down and travel back to San Antonio Texas because the warranty that Explorer RV provided will not cover the towing or the fixing of their fithwheel and has completely failed them. I own a 2012 Tiffin diesel pusher class A RV that I've had for eight years and have had a couple of things go wrong with it, I didn't buy an extended warranty but Tiffin has always taken care of us and never denied us of taking care of any problems we have had with our unit. Explorer RV should be ashamed of not taking care of their customers and we would never recomend them to anyone. We have owned many RVs and have never seen this kind of treatment. I will be posting this on YouTube and will be letting all the RV community know how awful this company has treated my family. read more

Wow - it's funny that this person reviewed them so bad. I really found them 180 degrees in the other direction. We bought ours from the Seguin location. Our sales person was super and would highly recommend them. I took my RV for service today to the Boerne location, I found them just as responsive. But to show you, I had a broken latch just a few weeks after I bought it and did not want to drive that beast all the way there to fix that little part. I called my sales person and told him about it and 2 days later it arrived in the mail. He actually took the time to make sure I got it. They wrote me a thank you letter. At Christmas, a hand written thank you again and well wishes 6 months after the purchase. Yes - I think they are a good company. read more

We purchased an Travel trailer here last week. We worked with Eddie who was not only informative but knowledgeable in the trailer and features. When I described what I wanted (bunk house) he took me to what they had and didn't waste my time. It was a weeks process for us. I stopped by early in the week and knew we were going to stop by again on Friday. He came in on his day off to help us! We did online financing application and were approved by the next day when we completed the purchase. We have several RV places in proximity but found this one fit our family. We are Grandparents with Grandkids etc.! My only complaint so far would be the wait time after purchase to picking it up!!! Evidently they pull out a new model and train you on how to use everything. They also make sure you know what hitch to have, trailer brake. However they provide little information on actual specifications, like electrical connections, jack size. The lady making the appointment blew us off on the phone saying it was in the manuals. Later I stopped in and was given an online site to look up some of these things. I wish she would have been a little more forth coming so our home electrical could be ready. Evidently we have a 30amp plug but this turned out to be 110 or 220? We will have to get figured out afterwards. Also we are backing it into a location with our gator once we get home so those specs would be appreciated! Overall 4 stars. 5 stars for Eddie! read more

Called them today for a Recall on my Grand Design Imagine. Was a recall on the front tongue jack. I know all they do is replace the jack because my friend just had the same recall. They will not order ahead of time so they want me to leave my trailer there for 4 weeks while they wait on the part. Who would do that? Or I have to pay for the part and then they would pay me back for the part. Were they going to hold my trailer for ransom if I didn't come back. Great customer service. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Avoid this place like the plague. First let me say we should of realized how little they care about their customers from the behavior from our salesperson. Purchased our RV last year when stock everywhere was very limited. We found our RV at the Boerne location and considered ourselves lucky. Made an appointment to come and sign paperwork and our salesman was an hour late. When we finally did the walk through there were some issues but they assured us everything would be repaired to factory standards. Ok sounds good. We were told the RV was ready and scheduled to pickup the RV however repairs were not completed as promised. They assured us that they did not have the parts needed to do the repairs and we would have to bring it back. They made us fill out all this paperwork so that work could be completed through the manufacturer's warranty. They took some pics and said they would call us once the parts arrived however we should be patient due to shortages everywhere. We never got any call telling us to bring the RV in or that the parts had arrived. We waited more 4 months for our tech to call before we decided to call and see what was the hold up. I spoke to the tech (Juan) who was in charge of our repairs and who was suppose to call us once parts were in. He couldn't find any repair or parts orders (how convenient). He said he would start working on it immediately that I should take more pics and send them to him. Fast forward 3 weeks later and take the RV to the beach now having problems with furnace and water heater not working. Make an appointment to take RV in for service and Juan has still done nothing about ordering previous parts from almost 5 months ago. If you expect any type of good customer experience, don't expect it here. read more

We just purchased our 2020 DRV Fullhouse from Explore USA in Denton, TX. Our Salesman was Jeff Carter. He was very knowledgable and spent considerable time showing us around. Both he and the General Manager, Jimmy Denney treated us like gold. We got a good deal on our purchase price and interest rate. And they bent over backwards to get us the lower down payment we needed. They also have been very good about honoring the deal we made to customize the garage for our parrots and add some other items. Steve King, the Sevice Manager has kept in touch to make sure all additional items are completed before our walk through. We haven't done our walk through or taken possession yet, but I will let you know how those go. So far, I rank them a 5 out of 5 and highly recommend them. read more

This review is for LETTIE only. She was wonderful. Very professional, sincere and eager to help. She helped us with scheduling and preparing our purchasing paperwork. She was fabulous. What I didn't like was the sales staff. Very dismissive and not very eager to help us understand what we needed to know about our camper. I will say though, WATCH OUT FOR TOWING CAPACITY OF YOUR VEHICLE vs "dry" weight of your camper, without any of your stuff in it. Our 1/2 ton truck was not an appropriate fit for the camper we bought but on paper, it was just at the upper limit EMPTY. Everyone said don't haul that camper with that truck, everyone EXCEPT for these guys. When I came down to discuss the weight limit (before actually picking up our new camper), my original sales guy who we bought the camper from at the show, literally excused himself when my questioning got rather heated and got the senior sales guy. He never came back. We love our camper, we loved Lettie but these sales guys are slimy and only care about the sale. Not how you'll get the damn thing home. And yes, on PAPER our vehicle could pull the camper so they aren't held "liable" (as they said) but in reality, numerous people told us not to even try it without a 3/4 ton truck. It was a black mark on our rv purchase which should have been flawless. Not happy with them and I would just say to watch out for what they tell u to get you to buy a camper and always check the weights with your vehicles manufacturer BEFORE trusting these sales guys. Rob Aleman was the salesman that I talked to on the phone about a used RV on craigslist. My wife and I went to look at the RV after work that same day. Rob called us and let us know that he had another person looking at the same RV. When we got there the other person had beat us to the purchase. Rob was awesome in his customer service skills. He showed us other used RV's but then said that he would show us a new RV that he would make us an amazing deal on---and he did. We wound up purchasing a 2020 Reflection by Grand Design and probably would not have made a purchase that day had it not been for the excellent customer service and price Rob was able to negotiate with his manager.
