Our third rental was an unregistered vehicle that had not been inspected in three years and had endless issues that plagued our entire vacation and added days of driving around the desert in 100+ temps WITHOUT AC to find parts and/or a mechanic. Our first two rentals (2001 and 2017) had zero issues, so the lack of customer service wasn't evident until we had dangerous problems on our 2024 trip... and then they left us on our own, with a piece of garbage RV falling apart around us in the sweltering summer heat... three women, a 4 year old child, and a very hot dog . Literally, the manager (David) left for the day without calling us back, knowing our predicament, after being repeatedly asked to call us back over several hours. Thanks, David In addition to the AC not working, no cruise control, and the truck engine overheating, plus the rental car and hotels during the worst of the mechanical problems, we also discovered that the microwave didn't work, so ALL the food we had prepped in advance to "heat and eat" was a waste of time and money. I briefly considered burning the RV in the desertand flying home, but I look awful in orange. This is not a real threat, just a very real example of how frustrating the entire ordeal was. We eventually fixed the issues (over and over) and ADV offered ONE day free, but we had to rearrange our whole trip at the height of travel season to accommodate the issues with our existing reservations, so we wound up needing additional fee extra days to get home, but the 4th of July closure made it so we couldn't return it until SATURDAY. Guess who had to pay for those days we didn't need? We did. We were supposed to be home on the 29th, finally got home on the 3rd, and had to pay in advance through the 5th because of their mechanical problems. When we brought it back, we received ZERO APOLOGY for our hardship and were NOT allowed to speak to the manager we repeatedly asked for... who was standing right out front and totally ignored us when we drove up in that rolling safety hazard, and again ignored our request to speak to him, brought by a customer service rep. When we walked up to him outside he was rude and blamed his sales reps for not dealing with the situation. Eew, David. Our family trip to see multiple national parks was turned into a nightmare from day one thanks to this irresponsible business. We will NEVER use them again. Photos of the BROKEN ladder we had to climb daily to fix the AC, because the AC motor mount would come unscrewed every time you used it and sounded like rocks tumbling in a dryer. We originally paid $5,234.20 for two weeks and had to pay $1,061.70 for the extension, for a total of $6,295.90 plus another $865.29 in hotels, rental car and über to try to resolve all the problems. That doesn't count plumbing parts, tools we had to buy, or extra gas driving to different cities looking for a mechanic. Ten days after we returned the RV, the ONLY response has been a $347.69 refund, which comes nowhere near to covering the extra hotel and rental expenses we incurred and submitted for reimbursement, let alone the extra days we had to reserve. No phone call, mail or email to apologize for anything or communicate any resolution. We will now be seeking legal counsel due to the major safety issues we were left to deal with on our "vacation" in one of their unregistered rental units. I rented a RV from American Dream Vacations for a weekend in October 2025. We ventured to North Padre Island to a RV park. Named--" On The Beach" RV Park. I've rented from ADV and I've stayed at OTB several times before. When it was time to depart the slide out on my rental would not retract inward. This was on a Sunday the day I was scheduled to leave and head home. I called ADV... no answer and informed the RV park of My situation. Monday morning I made contact with ADV and put them in contact with service tech in the area and ADV approved the work. About 1:00 p.m. the tech arrives, diagnosed the problem and repaired it all within an hour. The tech called ADV for payment and it got confusing from this point on. I called several times and spoke with a rental associate who assured me they were going to pay the repair bill. But the owner/manager was in a meeting and couldn't come to the phone. This back and forth went on for an hour and a half with me calling and ACRV(repair company) calling. After a hour and half or more a supervisor from ACRV showed up and wanted payment so the technician could go on to other appointments. Reluctantly, I paid $1,054.22. Upon Every rental I do a initial walk through and At the time of retracting the slide out during the walk through at RV pickup area... the agent mentioned he would show me how to use a manual override switch for this slide.out. The Manual slide out override did not work. The repair technician stated it had been utilized way to many time prior. Upon my return to the drop off location I was met with plenty of apologies and a receipt stating & showing he(owner/manager) would reimburse me in total $1,054.22. Now the owner/manager is stating they also paid ACRV. I asked for a copy of this transaction, the owner/manager stated he would email it, and haven't heard back from ADV (*American Dream Vacations) with either my reimbursement/refund or a copy of them paying anyone else. Beware of this place. I rented an RV and initially all went well but when I brought it back they wouldn't refund my deposit so after 3 weeks I showed up to inquire about it and I was told next day it would be in my bank account. Not only did they not refund my deposit, they wanted to charge me for some damage that I absolutely did not cause to the RV. They sent me a picture of a dent at the front of the RV which was impossible for me to have caused. Found American Dream Vacations after my RV rental via another site cancelled my RV a week and an half before our 24 day excursion (after reserving it two months out). We had all of our RV campsites booked and ready to go - a lot wouldn't issue a refund due to the upcoming holiday. I was angry, devastated, and felt hopeless. After calling and searching online, ADV came to the rescue. We had such a wonderful experience working with them and as first time RV'ers they were patient to answer all of our questions. I was hesitant booking through a "company" but they went above and beyond my expectations. I've rented from ADV several times and most times all goes well. I've noticed that at the end of the rental I usually have to call to prompt the return of my deposit. In the past I have received my deposit, a little slow or with some back and forth but I have received my deposits. This rental like the others I called in to remind them of the return of my deposit only to be told I had some damage to the passenger side jack. Mind you at the walk through as I've done on every rental I video and take pictures at the pick up and at the return of the vehicle. When I picked up the vehicle we did not lower the Jack's as a part of the exit inspection*(that's my fault) and upon arrival at camp set up i noticed the jack being slightly bent at an angle. I didn't think much of it at the time. Not until I called in to remind them of my deposit and was informed of this damage. As thorough as I thought I was make sure to have the jacks lowered at your initial walk through before departure. Also, make sure you request or you bring a hitch pin for the trailer coupler( it didn't have one nor was i offered one). In Closing my weekend camping rental went well as it has with my other rentals here at ADV. Do not business with this company, they offer the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They do not care about the customer, they only care about milking you for all the money they can get out of you. Signed up for a 60 month extended warranty on the premise that they would send a tech out for any problems, and of course they never have any one available. Service tech Moses is the worst, doesn't return any phone calls and blows you off. David Leal is an extremely poor salesman with zero customer service skills, and is extremely rude. We have rented from American Dream for several years. It's a great way to try different RVs out so when we retire and go RVing full time we will know exactly what to buy. Fabian helps us with the rentals and he and the rest of the team are very courteous and friendly. There is a young man with a beard who's name escapes me, but please give him our thanks. He was so helpful on the unit briefing and very polite. The most recent rental we did was this past week and the Winnebago View was by far our favorite. The units are always super clean when we get them and they even let us park our car there when we rent so we don't have to shuttle all the way out to Medina county where we live. Good start-Bad ending. Renting the RV was great. customer service was nice. people seemed so nice and made it so easy to reserve and rent. BUT problems happened after leaving. Generator died on us couple of hours after we left Home. we spent the whole trip without power and no AC. Manager tried to trouble shoot but did not work. offered if we want to go pick up a generator and make some adaptation to use for our 3 days trip but that was not possible. we were not gonna go spend more than half a day in the shop. The big surprise was later when we found out more issues. Before we left the RV steering was not aligned. Check engine light on. When we needed to use the sewer hose it had a cut in it. we tried to use the water hose it was cut in few places. THE BEST PART is that when we came back and dropped off the RV nobody even asked us about our trip or if we had any issue with the RV even the sales man who was so nice at the time of booking. All what mattered is to get the rental out. and at the end of the day we had to hear that the problem was our fault since we booked a short trip. Terrible customer service. Rent at your own risk. Rented 4 RVs. #1 was missing a toilet lid and neither of the 2 exterior doors locked. #2 had a major roof leak when it rained and the bathroom smelled like raw sewage when delivered. #3 was delivered with an already full grey water tank. Techs will try to talk you through how to fix a problem IF they are open. Bring your own tools including grey water backup tank. Practically speaking, you are abandoned once you take possession. We are not idiots, nor are we new to renting RVs. We took a chance on this company because it was close to our campground and our "normal" RV guy was booked. I have made myself available for a call if the owner would like to genuinely understand our experience to possibly help improve for the next customer. That doesn't appear to be a priority. 2.5 stars bro...and going down. There's a common theme here and it's company management. Additionally, I posted this poor review before my deposit was refunded along with whatever reasonable "compensation" for what went wrong. I received an emails stating: "I would like to proceed with compensation, but at this time on HOLD if you would like to evaluate your review, we can talk about getting these accounts closed out as fast as possible." After challenging his business ethics, holding my deposit in return for a better review, he processed my refunds the same day which was 18 days after the RVs were returned. Out of 3 nights, the company did credit 1 night, the cleaning fee, and dumping fee for each of the 3 units with issues. read more

I think it is interesting that you chose to attack your customer who was reporting the horrible experience they had. I would like to point out the actual correct information that is incorrect in your statements. A. You comment we chose the vehicle 2 weeks before leaving on our trip. In reality, we received an email that stated that the vehicle we reserved had been changed, two weeks before pickup. We did not choose the vehicle and we had to call in to find out what was going on. We were assigned the vehicle in question and told the original vehicle had been damaged and was unavailable. B. We were also told that the vehicle was new. You mentioned that it only had 3000 miles on it. However, I would like to point out that it had been built in 2018 according to the registration in the vehicle. 6 years old is not new and it obviously had not been maintained during those years, which is why we had the number of problems with it before returning it. C. The third vehicle we also were assigned and was 10 feet longer than the original RV that we had chosen. You adjusting the price of the vehicle to our contract price had nothing to do with compensating us. It was you all trying to fulfill the contract. To say that this was part of the overall compensation for the issues implies that you all expected us to have more issues after we left. Per your manager David he explained that this vehicle was the only vehicle that was ready, clean and available. Which we found was still not a full truth since it took hours to get it ready and then we had to have repairs done. D. Yes, we drove 1300 miles away before the slideout broke (two days of driving). However, you mentioned that the bent bracket had nothing to do with the functionality of the slideout but it explains why we were getting water in the unit when it rained the first night (since the cover had been removed) and why we were experiencing the loud noise while moving the slideout which we pointed out before we left. We were told that "it is fine and normal" it obviously was not. E. Two different of your technicians told us the jacks were broken and so we ensured that the unit was always on level ground before attempting to move the slideouts. We also found that the jacks were in fact working when I tried them. We followed the instructions given and were still stuck with a RV that had many problems. The idea that you are now saying that we caused the issue is laughable. F. Yes, we both expected that the slideout repair was going to last longer that the SINGLE DAY that it lasted. Either way I feel like there was plenty of opportunity for you all to not send us out with an RV that was having issues. On multiple occasions with multiple RV's. G. The idea that we would stop again and get another technician out (which you all could not find on your own) and wait several more days to get it repaired is crazy to me. That is why we kept returning home. Your manager stopped responding to us and we had continued to update him on the issues in phone messages and texts. H. This is the first time I have heard of anyone saying they would refund me a second day. Previously we had only been told we would be refunded the first day of our trip. You refunded exactly $714.48. $500 of that was our deposit, $9.24 was mileage overage that we had prepaid. That leaves $205.24 that was "refunded" to us for the "2 days" as you stated. According to you above you said you refunded two nights at $240 a night. You forgot to include the generator rental per night of $5 and the Tire hazard of $5 per night and the 10% RV rental tax on everything. The total per night would be $275 a night or a total of $550 for the two nights you said you refunded us, not the $205.24 we received. For someone to take time off work and invest their hard-earned money and work out schedules to have a family reunion that in the end they never got to attend because of issues with your equipment and procedures and to then fight with them over it rather than help them resolve them, shows where your priorities lie. I don't expect you to understand what you are putting people through since you obviously would rather attack customers who inform you of the issues instead of working to resolve them. The other reviews on here and the better business bureau explain a pattern of issues that you are putting your customers through. Do better! read more

The staff at American Dream Vacations were outstanding. Alec helped me reserve a RV that perfectly fit my needs. Having never traveled in or driven a RV I was a little anxious. But he reassured me and he was right. It was an outstanding trip. I rented the RV for 10 days and took a long driving trip to see relatives in another state. Initially after getting on the road, I had some RV questions and issues, but every time I called American Dream Vacations, someone was always available to answer my questions and help me resolve the issue. Moses in the service department was especially helpful diagnosing a problem with the generator that resulted after driving thru some heavy torrential rain. He was incredibly patient with me and talked me thru each step of the different diagnostics he had me perform until we ultimately found the problem, got the generator started, and didn't have any other problems with it the whole trip. The RV unit I rented was meticulously clean, well maintained and performed superbly. I could not have had a better road trip vacation and the outstanding staff at American Dream Vacations made it all possible. I highly recommend them to anyone with travel rental needs. This was my second rental with Boerne American Dream Vacations. I rented a 25 foot class C, RV. The booking process, negotiation and check out processes were seamless. I had been assured that the new Fleet had been younger and that it would make the rental experience better. Indeed, the RV was roomy (it had a long pull out section), quiet when traveling, the drive was pleasant and the engine powerful. The heating worked well which helped because we had 1 day of snow and icy weather. I will come back and recommend renting with them. I tried to encourage him to see that a better policy in very unusual cases such as this would be to do the right thing, provide me my $200 back and keep a client for years to come, at which point he hung up the phone on me. And no, on this phone call the 90 days to reschedule was not offered. Please do not add lies to the sarcastic response here. The first trip we did was far from perfect as your trailer computer system malfunctioned taking me 4hrs of the morning of the last day of our vacation to figure out (by myself, your tech didn't know) how to override it to close all awnings/sides. I am not one to complain online at all, in fact this is maybe only the second time ever I have done it. I didn't feel this was significant enough to publicly review on however you leave me with no choice. Upon searching online reviews, it is clear the owner spends alot of time aggressively and sarcastically responding to negative reviews. I'll get right to the point. Trenton and his team at American Dream Vacations in Boerne are professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. While not the perfect vacation because of some freak ice storms that blanketed our route into and out of Big Bend, the experience of reserving, picking up and dropping off the 31-foot Class A motorhome we rented was about as smooth as one could ask for. Wow, what a difference between my past experience and the treatment we received at American Dream Vacations, which I'll refer to as ADV for short for the rest of my review. Allow me to point out just a few reasons why I've already made two reservations to rent again this year from ADV: Reservation Process Booking online by looking at pictures was simple and easy, and I quickly received confirmation of my reservation. After I did so, I had some doubts about whether I had chosen the right unit for my needs. I spoke with Trenton several times by phone and he was always available or quick to return my call. He listened to my plans, asked questions I hadn't thought of and ultimately invited me up to their location to look around and make sure I was comfortable with my choice. Kicking Tires As mentioned above, my wife and I showed up one chilly morning and Trenton spent about an hour showing us several options and talking us through the positives and negatives about each unit for our needs. Ultimately, we ended up sticking with our first choice, but Trenton's patience in spending the time to walk us through everything made me 100% certain we chose both the right unit, and the right place to rent it from. In fact, a few weeks later I made one more visit to ADV before our pickup date to make some measurements to ensure our bicycles would fit in the huge storage compartment, and they were very accommodating even then, a few minutes before closing time. Pickup Wow. That's all I can say about London. This man KNOWS RV's - period! We arrived at ADV on time and our unit was sitting there waiting for us, heater running in the unusually very, very cold and gray day. London did the most thorough walk around both inside and out and we noted ever scratch, ding and dent to ensure we (ADV and me) were protected against any future damage. While doing so, London talked me through every system, operation and process to make sure I would know how to get the most out of my experience and so that'd I'd know what to do in any situation on the road. In short, I felt 110% comfortable and confident before my wheels ever hit the road. Seriously, by the time I left I felt as thought I'd owned this unit for a year. On the Road The unit operated flawlessly and nothing broke, even in the extreme weather conditions. That's exactly what you want! Drop Off I budgeted two hours for drop off, but Trenton and his team had us out in just a little over 30 minutes. We debriefed about how the unit operated, which I believe was very professional and showed they were trying hard to provide the best experience possible, and correct any issues before the unit went back out for the next person. They apologized for the iPod jack and offered a bit of compensation, which I declined. If it matters to you, we had our unit for seven days, five of which were bitterly cold and required us to use the furnace extensively. We cooked breakfast and dinner most days and ran the refrigerator on shore power 4 of the days and LP on the other three. I would have assumed we would have drained the LP tank, but in reality we used less than 1/2 a tank, and remember the furnace was roaring much of the time. For reference, the unit was a 31' Windsport. Wrap Up We received a follow up call from Trenton a few days after we returned the unit and our security deposit was back on my card in less than a week. At every turn ADV, and the entire team were the consummate professionals. The receptionist (who's name I can't recall) is extremely professional and knowledgeable, and seems to know where everyone is at every moment. Not sure how she keeps track of it all. Arrived at 1pm as we negotiated over the phone. Called 2 days before to make sure everything was good before driving all the way from Houston to pick up the RV in San Antonio. Upon arrival the RV was not ready, they were still trying to repair it. Was offered 2 replacement options. Both were a major down grade from what I reserved and had placed a $200 dollar deposit for. Waited 4 hours for one of the down graded options to be ready. We had no choice we had already driven 200 miles and 3 hours. Once we arrived at the RV park we discovered half the features were broken and non functional. Had to call the office and trouble shoot the Water Heater issue. I had to fix their issue for FREE. Then the Heat would nott work we had to return the unit 3 days early because it was noon sutable to stay in. They refused to give a refund or discount. The lights did not function in the bedrooms both front and back. The electric stabilizing rear jacks did not work. The hot water heater kept tripping off requiring me to have to reset the control board. This was the best weekend at the lake! My Mother told my Father that she would never go camping unless she was in an RV. That was about 45 years ago. We found American Dream Vacations through my brother & ended up renting an A Class Motorhome instead of going on a cruise. David helped us with all of the features & prepared us well for the weekend. We have been renting RV's from ADV once a year since 2015 and have found their entire team to be very professional each and every time. Our trips are at least 1 week in length, averaging 2000 miles. All of the Class A motor-homes we've rented have been no more than 1 year old, in very good shape and clean as can be. We did encounter a problem one year with a microwave and on the Ford A/C (not the RV A/C units). We were able to resolve the microwave problem after contacting their emergency line the same day. We made do with the A/C units from the RV since we were running the generator while on the road. Upon our return, our account was credited in a fair manner for the inconvenience we experienced. We will be traveling again this year on another ADV unit and look forward to the same exemplary service we receive each year. read more

Gave it a one because no 0 available. All goes pretty well unless something happens to the unit. Then, after your insurance company pays for the damage, you will be contacted by Alternative Claims Management (collection agency) with a bill for "loss of use", "diminished value" and admin fees. These fees were out of proportion to the damage to the unit. I will never rent from them again. If you decide to, make sure your auto policy will cover not only any damage that might happen on the unit and also these inflated and sometimes bogus fees. read more

AMERICAN NIGHTMARE VACATION We were completely ripped off!! We rented a unit that cost us over $5,000 and had nothing but problems with it because the unit had not been properly maintained in between rentals. We have rented before from other places and have never had a single issue, so we definitely do NOT recommend this company and are warning you "renter beware" before you even consider wasting your money and getting ripped off from here. ***Beware that if something goes wrong and you can't use the unit as intended, the company does not offer satisfactory customer service or fair compensation or a refund for the time a unit that cannot be properly used.*** We requested and expected customer service and a partial refund for two completely unacceptable issues: -We had to come to the dealership THREE TIMES (over two days) before we were ready to leave on our trip because they gave us the wrong keys and keys that did not work twice and then finally rekeyed the unit. This helped with one of the two locks, but we still felt unsafe and were at risk of being locked out because the unit door was simply damaged, didn't close properly, and needed to be fixed, not have a bandaid thrown on the problem. -We could not use the RV as intended for more than half of our trip because of an issue with the slide out. It was problematic from the beginning of the trip and never slid fully out. When we called to report this the first few times, we were told to "realign" the slide by jiggling the button back and forth. I knew it would get completely stuck at some point, and for NINE DAYS we were without the use of the slide at all, which meant we could not use the unit except for driving. It was extremely uncomfortable and we had no access to our clothing (stuck in the closet with the bed pressed against it), no use of any interior space, couldn't open the bathroom door, had to squeeze sideways down the hall to get into the bedroom (which was only a bed against walls on all sides without the slide), and we couldn't use the bed above the cab because the seats couldn't be pushed back without the slide out, in addition to not being able to move in the unit and having to live outside in the cold for most of our trip. -We were told that the slide motor would be fixed along the way on our trip, but according to the company after we returned and filed a complaint, there was not a single person available to service the unit on the way anywhere from California all the way to Texas over the nine day period (in the off season). We we so uncomfortable, we made it clear that we were willing to stray from our trip and drive anywhere necessary in order to get this fixed. (We couldn't "live" in the unit and were more comfortable when driving seated anyways.) We were never informed by the company that they would not be fixing it, but strung along with the hope that we wouldn't have to suffer the entire trip and that it would be fixed somewhere. The unit we rented was a mess when we got it and there was a list of 23 (YES - 23!!!) more problems with the RV, some of which were: -a check engine light that was on for the majority of the trip and never dealt with by the company, -a malfunctioning doorstep that kept expanding and retracting as we were driving, -a dangerous ladder literally hanging off the back of the unit that could have come off at anytime while driving and hit a vehicle behind us (not secured on 3 out of 4 bolts), -and many, many more maintenance issues, but I think you get the point and probably don't need to read anymore... Our compensation? One night refund (around 5% of our total cost). Well, that covers the rental for about half of our delay and time spent getting the unit rekeyed before we left. We also received a COUPON for two night's discount towards a future rental which counts for the majority of the "monetary value" as Trenton is putting it in his response below. He would be more accurate to say "up to $1,300 value", as the value could be significantly cut, depending on which unit we were to choose. Sorry, Trenton. I'm not foolish enough to waste anymore money at your RipOff Establishment ever again, so that COUPON is ZERO VALUE and garbage to me. You have lost this repeat customer. read more

Do not rent from American Dream Vacation. I guess I should have had read their reviews before renting from them. Our story is essentially eerily similar to previous review a year ago ( See review a year ago). They will take your money and no support. Our 4 days trip to Big Bend got ruined almost by the beginning. Halfway to our destination the AC unit went out. After contacting them the first question they ask "how much gas I have in the tank? When I answer more than a quarter tank the technician or manager still tried to blame us for running low on the gas, even though we stated clearly more than a quarter tank. After hours in the heat and after talking to service managers and technician , we were told and given permission to tried to fix the AC Generator over phone guidance as no service option was available and only option was to continue to our RV Park place and they will send service to us. The next day the only option offered was to drive 2 hours plus north to Alpine or return back for an upgrade. Both options were not feasible due to our limited days on this trip. We agreed to and authorized by ADP Manager to bring unit back vehicle that day " leave in the drop off and they would leave our van in the same area in front of the old building '". When we made back past 10 PM there was a Van but was the wrong Van. We no choice but to take mobile home until the next morning. They charge over 1500 for a a 4 day trip and sent us a 22 dollars check with 500 gift certificate for future rental. THE REPLY TO PRIOR ONE STAR REVIEW IS THE SAME THEY STATED IN THE LETTER THEY SENT. " I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE..... GENERATOR ISSUES ARE NEVER A GOOD THING.... BUT OUR RECORDS INDICATE THAT OUR OFFER FIR SERVICE WAS DECLINED...." How this help make a decision when choosing this type of business. My advise , take your money somewhere else. read more

I recently rented my second RV from these guys. The first time was 8 years ago. I came back because they were pretty reasonable then, but since then, I think they have really upped their game. When I called to make my reservation several months before the person on the phone did a really good job because he knew specifics about each RV - features, age, condition. When I picked up the RV (a 30+ foot C Class), it was clean and they did a very good job on briefing me on how everything works. I had to cut one day of my reservation just a few days before, and they were ok with doing that for me. The RV was clean and ready to go. My 8 year old daughter had been begging to go in an RV and wife reluctantly "got on board" - we all enjoyed it but she says "that was fun, now we're done" - but if we ever rent again I will go straight back to ADV and will recommend to my friends. read more

Would definitely look for another option. If they hold your reservation at all (think the Seinfeld rental car episode!), then the "customer service" will make you wish they hadn't!
