Borelli Cycle

Sometime ago, I encountered my dream bike. A 1973 CL125s. The bike was running rough to say the…read moreleast, and it didn't take long to discover that the repair was far out of my league. After calling every cycle shop in 50 miles and being denied for my bike being too old, I finally called Borelli and was suprised to hear that he'd take it on. It took almost a year to aquire all the parts needed for it, which on a bike that old is a serious undertaking. During this time, the bike was completely stripped, rebuilt, reassembled, and tuned until finally it was running again. All told, the bill came to just about 1k. For the amount of work put into the bike (including nearly 40 hours of labour), a thousand dollars in an astonishingly low number. As for the bike, it ran better than anything I've ever ridden after he finished. Driving past the shop, you'll see just how diverse his mechanical knowledge is. There are generally a dozen assorted motor vehicles of all types and ages congregated around the shop door. Be you a dirtbiker, quadder, racer, goon, or highway rider, Gary will fix it and fix it well.

I replaced everything but couldn't get them to work. I called Borelli cycle Thursday and they said bring it down and we will look at it. Took it Friday am and it was fixed by end of the day. And they replaced the spark arrestor. They even looked it over and told me of a couple other issues. I needed it for the weekend but I will be back with all our toys ( 3 KTM bikes and a quad). Couldn't ask for more and a fair price. They also carry many parts for motocross and others. Worth the 1 hr drive.

We recently took our 1985 Honda magna to Precision Motor Works in north lasalle for a new clutch…read more cylinder they said they would need $750 deposit so we gave them that they looked the bike over then said it needs the clutch cylinder replaced, forks need new seals, and it needs new brakes so we told them to fix those things. Then they call and say they can't get it to start (we drove it there) so we went to talk to them and they told us the gas tank is junk and needs to be replaced (they already had it off) not sure why, so we told them put it back together we'll get a trailer and come and get it the next day we when we went to get it they told us it's an additional $1,200 for labor so we paid that just to get it away from them the whole time they insisted the gas tank is junk and needs to be replaced so now we have $2,000 into it and it ran when we took it there but for some reason now it doesn't and it didn't go there for that it went for a clutch cylinder so we get it home only 5 minutes away we put gas in it first try it started so it did not need a new tank our friend called them and told them it runs fine nothing wrong with the tank they said then ride the ing thing and hung on him I would never ever take anything to them again they'll rip you off.

I went to GP on a recommendation. I stopped by their office and met Jason (Owner) We talked…read morebriefly about the work I wanted do on my Harley Trike. (Stage Two With Cam Upgrade) He sent me quote for the work we talked about. I am a person who wants to know how things are done, I research & research what I want to buy or want to have done. I started asking questions about the build and Jason was forthcoming. I found some issues I wanted answered, typically the tuner for the bike. Jason turned me over to Nick who responded. He said he had done this build with other Harleys and it worked well. I kept coming up with more questions and I believe for this build (Trike) they just got tired of me asking away. I wanted to know how the tuner chosen by them could actually tune the Trike if it didn't have any maps for a cam upgrade? Just pipes and air cleaner. Nick responded that he had done many tunes with it and it works? For this build the bike should be dyno tuned. GP did not have a dyno for a trike. Only place was Woodstock HD. After talking more, Jason wrote back stating he didn't think they could get me to where I wanted to be so advised I go some where who could. In all, I guess I am upset somewhat that if I had not researched my build I never would have learned the issues involved in the stage two upgrade I was trying to do. I would have had them do it possibly not getting the true performance out of the bike I had hoped for. I can't really say anything about the quality of the work they do, ratings were pretty good. I wanted to pass this along for others to read and be aware of. Bill

I was in a pretty bad spot since I had a road trip coming up and now nobody to do the much needed maintenance. In looking around for other shops I came across this shop. Nick and his people came through for me in a big way when I needed it most. Got the work done on the day of in just a few short hours. These guys do great work at a reasonable price. I plan on being back in the future. Thanks again guys!!
