I asked him if I would need a work permit pulled for these repairs and he said "no". I thought F.S. Plumbing was a licensed plumbing company. I later found out it is not a licensed plumbing company. I also found out from both St. Louis County and St. Charles County that a permit would have been required for these four repairs. When Frank came out to do the work, he tore out a part of the wall in my bathroom, he said the only way to repair both drain pipes was to cut a hole into the metal vent that was inside the wall. I asked him if it could be easily repaired and he said that it would be an easy fix and that I could fix it myself with a piece of metal and a few screws. He told me he thought it was a cold air return. When I told him my cold air return was in the hallway, he didn't respond. I then told him I thought that was the vent coming off my furnace and asked if he wanted to go to the basement to look. He had been in my basement earlier to look at my outdoor faucet pipes since he was going to repair them as well. He declined going to look in the basement to see what the vent was and he proceeded cutting into the vent. He cut a large hole in the vent and the way that it was cut I saw no way to repair it since the one drain pipe was running right through it. I decided to Google "can you cut a hole in a furnace vent?" I got the quick response of "absolutely not". I called my local fire marshal and he agreed that it should have never been cut due to it being the furnace and water heater flue vent for carbon monoxide release. I called a retired HVAC friend and he said Frank, a plumber, should have known that you can't cut open a furnace flue vent. He told me not to pay Frank until I found out how much it would cost to replace the flue section. After I researched and found out this information, Frank asked to be paid. I told him I couldn't pay him that day until I found out exactly what it was going to cost to replace the flue vent. He said he wouldn't leave my house until I paid in full. I felt threatened and intimidated so I wrote him a check for the full amount of $1495. Frank left the house and, I found out later, he immediately drove to my personal bank (of the check) and cashed the check that same day. Also, when Frank left my house, he didn't tell me to not use my heat or hot water, or to turn them off in the basement. I could have died of carbon monoxide poisoning if I hadn't called my friend, later, who told me this fact. My friend told me how to shut off the gas furnace and water heater valves after Frank left to cash my check. I didn't have heat or hot water for over two weeks until the flue vent was ordered, delivered, and replaced. (The vent was a special order and came from out of State since it was a vent from the 1960's and no other manufactured flue vents would fit properly or safely). Frank refused to pay for the repair which turned out to be a replacement of the section of flue vent between the two bathrooms. I got 4 bids for him so he would see I was trying to get him the lowest price for the flue replacement. The HVAC bids ranged from $1500 - $2500. Frank came over to my house a few days after his initial work and said he was going to "fix" my flue vent. He was holding a tube of caulk and a piece of metal. I told him again that the flue section had to be completely replaced. He didn't believe that the flue had to be replaced even though a fire marshal and six HVAC guys said the situation was very dangerous and the vent section had to be replaced. I spoke to Frank, off and on, for three weeks giving him ample time to do the right thing and pay for the flue replacement. He refused, and the last time I texted him he texted me "God is watching". I had the flue vent replaced and I paid for it. I, also, had to have another plumber redo the drain pipe repairs that Frank charged me $895, I had to pay an additional $1000 for the drain pipes to be moved to the correct position, away from the vent. I had to have the wall repaired with new dry wall and tape since the HVAC man had to tear the wall out to get to the entire flue vent. I contacted YELP in late March since Frank has the red YELP GUARANTEE but they have not responded to my filed claim. I have contacted the Missouri Attorney General Consumer Complaint department and they have opened complaints against YELP and F.S. Plumbing and are currently investigating the claims.

We have used Classic Aire for almost nine years and have had service calls and twice-yearly checks…read moreover the years. A new HVAC system was installed in our home in late March this year and everything was done professionally and neatly with no messes left for us to clean up. The system worked great until the incredibly damp and cool spring when the AC was having real trouble dealing with the humidity in the house. But Faszold--and its mother ship, Classic Aire Care--kept sending out a couple of stellar technicians to check and adjust the system until they got it right. And this was warranty work--we did not pay for anything as they tweaked settings and made the system work in our home. Anthony and Steve are true problem solvers as they continued to address individual parts like the thermostat and fans and they finally got it all worked out so that the system is able to keep our house below 50% humidity. It was a frustrating time but the company has been responsive and supportive. Mike Faszold was also amazing and continually answered my calls and texts during both pre-sale and after install time. This company stands behind its installs and comes through on its promise of good customer service. Check around but believe what they tell you.

I appreciated the honesty! He had to leave to get a new circuit breaker and came right back to replace it. I'm happy with the service - prompt and courteous - but I am not thrilled with the high cost. The service call was $89 and a new circuit breaker should cost only $20-$30. I was charged $331.50 total, which I've been told by neighbors is very, very high for such a simple fix...Oh well. At least my furnace turns on now.

For that reason, I had them do a spring checkup, Emma claimed the heat exchanger was cracked, the fly wheel needed cleaning, and the a/c compressor was "over amping." I had a different, highly reputable company check the furnace and a/c, and they found that none of this was true - neither the furnace nor the a/c had any problems. Also, Emma did not provide a written a written description of her service and recommendations, and they have not provided the promised receipt for the payment of the second inspection. They are either incompetent or dishonest, very possibly both.

Tyler came out and found no issue with furnace. 2 days later Bill came out and after 3 hours found that the thermostat wasn't communicating fully with furnace. Still no repairs made. Bill returned a day later and moved thermostat to lower level next to furnace in so it worked thru winter storm and gave me a bid of $400 to move thermostat back to original location in family room. After reviewing the path of the wires through the garage, up into a closet, and finally in through the wall, I decided their were too many possible points of failure and decided to leave thermostat in lower level but needed it moved over a foot so as not to impede doors covering HVAC area. Bill said the cost will be the same per company regs and wouldn't re-bid the job even though it was significantly less time and labor than the previous bid. He also needed to reconnect the A/C so I guess I'll find out this summer if that was done properly. I cancelled on the spot and will hire another HVAC company in the future to move the thermostat 12 inches to the left so I can close the closet door and test the A/C. I'm extremely unhappy.

Get EVERYTHING, from quote to breakdown of charges upon completion IN WRITING. Too many things…read morethey told me they didn't honor. I needed a new water heater. When the guy came out to review, he talked with my home warranty people and they only covered part, I was asked if I would pay the additional $700 and approve the work, which I did. He called 2 days later that the parts were in and scheduled to install water heater the next day. He said a balance of $750 would be due upon completion. I told him he told me $700, but he said, no, it's 7-5-0. I needed the water heater, so fine, I'll pay the extra $50 they added. He then added, "if you pay in cash, I'll knock $50 off the bill". I thought about it for a second, but wasn't feeling well, so I said, "I'll have to miss out on that, I'm going to pay with a card." The guy's brother installed the water heater. When the work was complete, he didn't go over anything with me, but I handed him two of my cards (I wanted to split payment up so neither card would be hit so hard). I told him I wanted it split evenly, $375 on each card. He took down my card information, gave me a receipt, and left. I looked at the statement on both cards today, and each has a charge of $393.75. I called and the guy who came to my house first answered. I asked why each card had an additional $18.75 charge included. He said it's a service fee for using a card and said that's why he told me if I paid in cash, he'd take $100 off the bill. I told him he never told me either of these things, he didn't mention a card fee (if I had that info and still chose to use a card, I would have just put it all on one card), and he only offered $50 off (which I assumed was easier for their accounting, not because of a service fee). I told him he also only offered me $50 off, not $100. He repeated several times that no, he said $100 off and that he told me about the service fee for using a card, adding that "EVERYBODY" charges a fee for using a card...stores, restaurants, businesses. I disagreed, telling him EVERYBODY is not doing it, and those who do, have signage, or tell the client about it beforehand, which he did not do. I would have gone out and withdrawn the money to give him cash if he had clearly told me he'd take $100 of the bill, and I would not have been charged any card fees. When his brother was preparing my receipt, he didn't mention any service fee either. He kept repeating his lie, so I finally said I'm done with the conversation. Before I hung up, he had the audacity to tell me the next time I need some plumbing done, he'll make sure to give me a good deal. So, what would/should have been a $600 charge if he honored his word, costs $787.50. If they had been up front and honest and offered what he said they offered, I would not have incurred and additional $187.50 in charges.

Before he even came in the house he asked for my payment of the service call fee. He was sweating bullets before he got down on his knees to look. proceeded to ask me if I stepped on the door of the dishwasher. Then he didn't even know what a 2 drawer Phisher and Paquel dishwasher was and I told him before he came. He said he knew exactly what it was. I did get upset because he said he couldn't help with this. I told him if he can't help, then he needs to leave. He then holds up his phone and says good thing I record all my calls. Disgusting and proceeds to insult me and ask if I'm decrimating, because of his color, the nerve.
