You can also get takeaway from Bagel Bean which is good as it's such a busy cafe, hence getting a table can be tricky. They have a huge menu including every bagel you could possibly think of. I was afforded a free breakfast in a local 4star hotel, yet most mornings i chose to swing by "the Bean" for a bacon/egg/cheese bagel sandwich....which is pretty much amazing. coffee and breakfast for 5-6 pounds, not too shabby. New location (across from the market place theatre) is very nice, couches galore, but i like the old location, just feels like home (been going there 6 yrs now). nearly makes the flight from California worth it by itself.... ;) Opens at 7am M-Sat, closes at 5p. closed sundays (unfortunately).

There's a counter at which you order and pay for your food before taking a seat and waiting for it to be brought to you. Unfortunately as is the case with most Armagh cafés there wasn't a huge vegetarian selection. Though there was a tasty looking carrot and orange soup on offer and a sandwich bar with a wide range of fillings. The menu board did list some hot meals but as those consisted mainly of meat dishes I ignored them. I choose a brie, salad and red onion jam sandwich on brown bread which I shared with my friend as neither of us happened to be very hungry. This sandwich was absolutely delicious and well filled with fresh, tasty ingredients. My Americano coffee was great and my friend enjoyed her loose leaf tea which came in such a generous pot she managed to get three cups out of it! Costing approximately £7 in total we thought our light lunch good value for such great quality and portion sizes. Staff were pleasant and I will definitely return, but it would be nice to see a couple of veggie hot dishes available in future...

I love both Bagel Bean cafes as they both serve exactly the same great food and coffee. Superbly scrumptious bagels and salads. They have a huge menu listing every bagel you could possibly think of. I especially love the Vegetarian Selection on the menu, with the Napoli Melt being my absolute favourite. I prefer this cafe on Market Street as I think it has a better layout. Plus it has a great outside seated area for summer time relaxing and there are more interesting 'people watching' opportunities on the busier Market Street. There's also an awning too, so you can sit outside even if the weather is not so great. Unfortunately the other Bagel Bean on Lower English Street doesn't have such a luxury. I would highly recommend Bagel Bean as it serves the best bagels I have ever tasted. You can also get takeaway from both Bagel Beans which is good as they're such busy cafes, hence getting a table can sometimes prove difficult. This cafe is one of my favourite places in Armagh for food. Bring a book, have a bagel, drink great coffee and relax whilst watching the world pass by. My idea of heaven!

I ordered a tub filled with three ice cream scoops; baileys, honeycomb and kinder bueno. My friend ordered coffee, baileys and kinder bueno flavour. We took a table, which was sticky, covered in crumbs and needed a good clean - it was yuck. A pity about the slow service and unkempt state of this place because the ice cream is really gorgeous and visually it's actually a very nice little cafe. Could be a full five stars if they sorted themselves out...

Parking here is free and there are a few shops in the same place - M&S, Iceland being the only two I can recall. It's a pleasant enough cafe with lots of light and glass but there is a price for comfort @ light here. I had had several coffees that day and I felt a little bit coffee weary so I opted for a single espresso at a whopping £1.75. Quite expensive for seven grams of coffee. The espresso was pretty thick as it should be with a good concentration of dissolved and suspended solids with a crema on top. I tend to avoid the food offerings in these places as there are no sell by dates displayed so you can't tell how long these offerings have been lingering. Had I wanted something I would have popped into M&S for an Eccles cake. There were two friendly efficient young servers working away.
