They gave me a round about price to replace and it was in line with what I was told at the dealership.. My daughter dropped the car off on Friday.. With the holiday being on Monday and the snow storm they fixed the car on Thursday.. I felt sorry for them since the alternator they put on wasn't working so they had to take it all apart and replace with a working alternator which is not an easy job.. I had them change the oil and filter as well.. The price was actually lower than the estimate.. Their shop is within walking distance of campus.. I HIGHLY recommend S and H Automotive Repair..

(Being new to the area all I had to go by was big shop or small.) Initially they told me the car would likely be ready around mid January factoring in getting parts and the holidays. While the communication was all initiated by me, once I got someone on the phone it was all pleasant and accurate. Despite my crappy insurance company (you know the one cough Jake cough) the car was done January 14th. After a cursory inspection it appears to be a first class job. The paint looks great, all the electronics is working, and I'm happy.

I brought my older mustang there for inspection a few months back expecting ridiculous repairs, though I know it didn't need anything as I do most of my own work. They were super honest and didn't try to fix things that were not in need of repair and gave it a clean bill of health. I brought in our Jeep for its annual inspection with the same results. That means a lot to know they won't try to rack up a crazy bill and will do an honest job. Will continue to use them for anything I may need. Super nice people there.

HONEST, FAIR AND EXCELLENT WORK…read more I'm very difficult to please when it comes to servicing and/or repairing my Volvo C70. Plus, having worked at a few local car dealers, I'm fully aware of how the car owner can spend a little more on repairs and service then they should and not receive the highest quality in return. Therefore, finding a garage that I'm happy with is difficult because I'm particular about all aspects; from quality to pricing. Max Mile in Hallam, PA is simply the best and most honest mechanic that I have had the pleasure of working with in the last 15 years. They stand behind the work, provide the customer with a courtesy car if available, And, MOST IMPORTANTLY, they know what they're doing, meaning your car is serviced and/or fixed correctly and at a fair price. I sincerely don't have anything that I would change about my experience with this company. They've consistently done exceptional work for me. *We all know that price is important but not as important as having your car handled by a mechanic who knows what they're doing. As a nice plus on my last visit - They were $300 lower for new tires, full synthetic oil change, tire rod replacement and rotor repair than 2 other reputable local garages. Definitely call Barry if your car or truck needs attention.
