    Arizona Chicken Mole Enchiladas

My first time visiting this restaurant and was so impressed with the entire experience. Overall vibe is super welcoming. Server was very attentive. The Arizona chicken mole enchiladas were moist and delicious, as were the black beans. Guacamole app was generous and very flavorful. Definitely will revisit asap!!

We had such an amazing family dinner at Blue Agave in Yorba Linda! From the moment we sat down, everything felt welcoming and relaxed. The chips and salsa were fresh and delicious--definitely the perfect start to the meal. I ordered the Taco Mex something (solid choice!) and it was cooked to perfection, flavorful, and filling. Everyone in my family really enjoyed their meals. The corn cake was da bomb. My wife got shrimp tacos very scrumptious. What truly made the night unforgettable was our server, Jenna. She was absolutely the best--so kind, attentive, and genuinely friendly. She made us feel completely taken care of the entire time. Service like that really elevates the whole dining experience, and I honestly hope management recognizes her hard work because she deserves a raise! We left full, happy, and already talking about when we'll come back. Blue Agave is definitely a spot we'll be returning to again and again.

Was craving some Mexican cuisine and decided to give Blue Agave a try. The staff was very friendly upon our entrance and the hostess sat us right away. I noticed that the restaurant was clean and has ample seating. Some sections look great for large parties. There are a lot of options on this menu. It was hard to decide on which plate to order. I settled on the chicken mole enchiladas, and it was fantastic! This dish really hit the spot. They were very generous with the amount of shredded chicken in the enchiladas, and the moly sauce complemented the chicken enchilada perfectly. I asked to substitute the rice with veggies. The veggies were sautéd zucchini and bell peppers, and had a nice buttery flavor. I definitely would return to this restaurant. I look forward to trying my next Blue Agave dish.

I've been wanting to come check this place out for some time and I'm glad that I did. Complimentary chips and salsa while you wait for your food...HUGE plus for me lol. Great customer service and the staff were very welcoming. Ordered the Baja Fish Tacos and wow, very flavorful. On the pricey side for 2 battered fish tacos but I am a huge sucker for handmade tortillas lol. The vibe is like your local El Torito but with better food. Coming back again.

My friend found this plastic lid at the bottom of the glass cup and had to dig it out to remove it.

Unfortunately this restaurant is extremely overrated. When I came with my group of friends, we were sat down quickly, but it took a long time for a waitress to introduce herself and ask us about drinks. When the waitress brought out our drinks, there was a plastic lid INSIDE my friend's coke. I don't even know how that happens. That took a while to be addressed since she didn't check in on us often. (And yes we were still charged for that coke). The food itself was nothing special, but that is just my opinion. Before my friends and I left for the night, we were in the lobby waiting for someone in our group to finish using the restroom, and we overheard the restaurant manager, I believe his name is George, talking to one of the hostesses at the front in such a disrespectful manner (he used a personal attack). We were all shocked that he would blatantly behave like that in front of customers. My friends and I had already decided we weren't going to come back, but after witnessing that our opinion of this restaurant was solidified. It seems like a toxic environment. **Update: His unprofessional response says it all

Delicious food. Not typical run of the mill. One of my favorite places to eat servers are very friendly and efficient. Nice southwest art and artifacts. Sweet corn is great. Love the chili relleno; it's made with a fresh pasilla chili. I have eaten here many times. It's great

Friday meet up, we stopped Blue Agave and so glad we did! We been eyeing this place but always opted toward eateries in Brea. I think we found a new favorite hangout in YBL. The hostess immediately seated us in a nice corner booth. The interior was much more spacious than I thought. There were probably a nine booths, several handful of tables and also some outdoor seatings. The menu selections are awesome -- and my friend was impressed with the dozen flavor of margaritas!!! The endless chips and salsa, as shared by other Yelpers, are heavenly. I was embarrassed to ask for 3rd round of chips! I ordered the chili relleno combo - and instead of taco tostada. Our server offered me double the chili rellenos! I've scored....and the place already warned my heart. The chili relleno "casserole" was topped with fresh mango salsa. The side of rice, bean and scoop of corn hit the mark. We shared the flan for dessert but that was too much. Obviously, we were so stuff that we stayed for over two hours (to help with digestion so we're not rolling out of our booth). The waitstaff were just so cordial, nice and didn't bother to rush us. The team all were very welcoming. We agreed that we have to swing by again!

Located in the same plaza as Bodai and J San ramen. Outdoor seating available. Nice big inside with lots of seating. Hubs got the Montego shrimp skewers and enjoyed it. I got the Sedona skirt steak and it was Lacking in flavor. Asked for the spicy chipotle sauce and that helped. Service was good. I would come again but wouldn't order the Sedona steak.

Ask the Community - Blue Agave

    Do they have vegan options?

No. There's no vegan option for entree (unless you aiming for guacamole, side of rice or plain house salad)

Is there a taco Tuesday special?

They don't. They have a couple of drinks discounted, but I just asked and that's the response. Drinks are good too.

    Any vegan options?

    Yes there are vegan options.

    When is happy hour?

Happy hour is Monday and Tuesdays from 4 till close. Half price on all draft beers and half price on all appetizers in the bar, it's a great deal.

It has this dark but classy aesthetic and I was not prepared for that (in a good way). This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.

When making reservations a $25 deposit is required per person but will be applied to your bill day of visit. The hostess was very kind upon check in and took us to the back where the 46 door is. She provided us a code and explained the time limit along with house rules. We were then told to knock on the door and proceed with the experience. Kudos to the owner as this is the only speakeasy in the OC that has a true speakeasy feel entrance. They had a gentleman open the peephole and ask for the entry code. Once we said the code we entered a really cool mine shaft area. The attention to detail was on point and I was impressed! We were then taken upstairs to a private bar where there are four tables of four so a max of 16. This makes sense as to why reservations are hard to come by. The only ding about seating is you are sat with strangers it is not a private table. Luckily we had a fun older couple at our table so it made the conversation more lively. Otherwise don't go here with an expectation of an intimate/ private date night. They also offer a limited food menu but looked very promising. However, we were here for a night cap so just dabbled in drinks. The bartender had a seasonal menu of 4 cocktails he created. He explained the drinks and then had us try each one with a straw. We then placed our order based on what we liked. He did say if we were not a fan he could create us our own personal cocktail as well. The old fashion he created was phenomenal! Overall, a cool little spot in the OC. Do wish they were open later as they do close at 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!

I had the "Billionaire's Bacon Wedge Salad" which was a great start -- it was delicious -- my bacon was "borrowed" by every person at the table. For entrees, we had the skirt steak, jidori chicken tacos, ora king salmon, and the chicken romano. All were great -- with the crusted mashed potatoes another highlight. Our server Steph also did a great job -- which was great to see as service had been an issue on previous visits years ago. I'm very glad to see a local family doing well with this great neighborhood spot that is serving up really quality food, great communal food energy, and what was a great looking wine list (Dry January prevented me from imbibing). We look forward to coming back and trying some of Chef's creations (Camel Chili !?!?!)!
