This Mexican restaurant located in the heart of downtown Gahanna was a nice treat today! The cool plants on the ceiling and music was a nice touch. Our waiter greeted us with a nice hello And smiled! I got a chimichanga with black beans and rice, my husband got chicken, cheese with tortillas. Everything was delicious. I usually like to get a margarita when I come to a place like this, but wow! They were expensive at this place. I skipped it this time.

I feel like our experience was ok, nothing stood out as super amazing (other than the guac) but nothing was too awful. We had to ask multiple times for extra salsa bowls to eat the guacamole and the server wasn't very attentive despite the restaurant not being very busy. The inside was very lively, not at all the typical Mexican restaurant look.

This restaurante Mexicano off the St. Rt 62 strip is en fuego serving its authentic fare in a comfy, upscale suave. The second store spun off the casa madre in New Albany, it occupies the space of a former Panera, leveling up the environment to a romantic sleek with perfect ambient lighting, clean booths, and a rustic patio. Plastic vines drape the dinning room like MC's Ling Ling. Latino music filled the air in various South American styles at perfect volume. The bar is specially impressive: a wide and long bottom-lit span of earthy crème and white suggesting the colors of the Mexican desert where the Blue Agave grows, the succulent from which tequila is fermented. We came on a noon Thursday after my girlfriend was stressing and needed an escape. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and selected the eye candy of the bar to sit. TV screens above, high-end bottles glistering from the chandeliers behind, and a wall of wine closed off the world and created the sanctuary for which we had searched. The food did not disappoint. Choosing from the lunch menu (served 11:00AM - 3:00PM) I selected Enchiladas Verdes: chicken filled with green tomatillo and sauce--I sensed serrano, garlic, and cilantro--with fried rice as a side ($10.49). This was superb. It tasted so rich and expertly made with the perfect spice balance for my palate. My g/f selected the Speedy Gonzales ($10.49). Named after the classic WB cartoon mouse, it comprises of a taco, a enchilada with two sides--she picked beans. She downed the combo with a fresh Margarita which she flipped for. The menu is worth a check. It has all the Mexican fare. The service is is superb, on-point. The salsa nd chips are plentiful--and the mild spice they gracefully got us was the tops. I recommend this place for a classy lunch or date night. It is the tops.

I was pleasantly surprised by this Blue Agave location. The decor is nice and upscale -- chandeliers above the bar, nice cushioned booths, etc. The menu is extensive and typical of similar Mexican restaurants. All the food was flavorful and fresh -- I was impressed with the fresh-made guacamole and the shrimp quesadilla (good sized, fresh tasting shrimp, which is not always the case in Ohio!). The margarita was good but not very strong (seemed a bit watered down?) and I wished there were options besides the "jumbo" but didn't see those listed in the menu. Server was very friendly, though we did have to ask for some things (didn't have enough menus, not all the food came out at once). I'd probably give 3.5 stars if that was an option, but the food itself was such good quality that a bump to 4 does not seem unwarranted. I'm interested in coming back for lunch.

First time here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We sat on the patio and had a few of their strong house lime and raspberry margaritas. The patio is nice and the inside is nicer. The bar is very big and reminds me of a fancy hotel lobby bar. Service was attentive and efficient. This is a great addition to Gahanna and we will definitely return!

We also had a couple bottles of wine at the table, which were good as well. For appetizers, we shared oysters, meatballs, and shrimp cocktail. All of them were good, but the meatballs were my favorite. For my entrée, I ordered the prime rib. It was a bit saltier than I would have liked, but the sides helped balance it out. I really enjoyed the corn and mashed potatoes, and I also added mushrooms and onions, which helped offset the saltiness. In hindsight, I kind of wish I had ordered the filet mignon, as I suspect it wouldn't have been as salty. The bread at the beginning of the meal was also really good. Dessert was a standout--I got the turtle cake, and it was huge. It's definitely the best value on the menu. Three of us shared it and still couldn't finish it, though that may have also been due to the amount of food and drinks we had throughout the night. The food did take a while to come out, but the service remained good the entire time. We expected dinner to wrap up around 7:00, but we started at 5:30 and didn't finish until about 8:30--there were 16 of us, so it was understandable. Overall, a solid experience, especially for a group event.

I make my apologies when I say the hype is not worth the visit…read more There is usually a correlation between the price, service and the food. Unfortunately, on my visit, there was absolutely no relation between these three things. Premium price, for OK service and OK Food I'll save myself the disappointment going forward!

Wow! Where do I begin!!…read more I made a reservation for this restaurant after I friend of mine raved about it. Our reservation was at 7:30p and we were seated promptly upon arrival. Our servers name was DJ, she did an impeccable job. Very friendly, answered all of our questions and was very good at her job!) We ordered the Pasta Fritto for an appetizer and it was incredible. Bread service was included with the meal and the garlic bread was good! We both decided to get Alfredo and it was 10/10. Super creamy and rich, noodles were cooked perfectly. We then ordered 3 different desserts and brought them home to try. We got the Cannoli, Tiramisu and Carrot Cake. They're all made in the bakery next door and fresh as can be. The carrot cake was my favorite! I would highly recommend this place! The ambience was quaint and pretty, staff were incredible, food was top notch and the prices were fair. I can't wait to come back!

Review by :Avila.Eats on TikTok, insta, YouTube…read more Service: wait staff and owner are friendly and attentive. Water was never an issue and all questions were answered thoughtfully. Ambiance/Atmosphere: inside is small but well decorated. Spacious although cramped. Nice interior matching the home like exterior. Food: Spaghetti and meatball is alright. The sauce is a strong acid forward sauce and the meatball is tender and well flavored. The noodles were perfectly cooked and it all paired well together. You could take it or leave it. Lasagna was great. Thick layered meaty lasagna perfectly cooked and balanced between all ingredients. Large portion and thankfully so. I'd recommend. Chicken parm was delicious. Crispy well seasoned chicken breast. This is one of the better chicken parm's I've had in central Ohio. Well seasoned and perfectly cheesy. I'd highly recommend. Chicken Marsala was great. Juicy well seasoned chicken breast paired with a Delicious and well executed marsala mushroom sauce. I'm not a fan of risotto but this is was exceptional. I'd recommend. Chocolate espresso cake was good. I could see this being high on the list for a coffee lovers dessert list. Dense chocolate sponge with a delicious espresso frosting. Bread pudding with whiskey sauce was delicious. Soft, warm, well seasoned bread pudding In a delicious cream and whiskey infused sauce. This was the best bread pudding I've had to date. I'd highly recommend. Cannoli was delicious. Crispy shell and a freshly done ricotta mascarpone cream. The cream itself was a cinnamon cream and paired excellently with the chocolate chips. The best cannoli I've had In Ohio. I'd insist on this order. Carrot cake amazing. This is one of the best if not the best carrot cake in central Ohio. Deep orange color and packed with nuts. No raisins but the cream cheese frosting makes up for it with the subtle sweetness. I'd insist on this order.

There were a lot of bodies waiting in the small area near the host desk and it was a little chaotic. Our server kept trying to bring us the wrong bottle of wine (we ordered a bottle of French bubbly and she kept coming back with a Riesling) so I am not sure if it was a disconnect or what. Eventually we received the correct bottle after taking the toast tab and pointing to the appropriate one on the POS. Our group enjoyed some small plates; the ceviche and the beet salad and hummus were all lovely. However, I ordered the kind of already overpriced lobster scramble. The portion was CRAZY. What I received was a 1.5" piece of lobster meat on top of what seemed to be less than one eggs' worth of pre blended egg. There was still liquid egg that hadn't been cooked in the pan and it was accompanied by three wedges of a Roma tomato with a handful of dressed arugula. For $29. I would hope at that price point, I would at least get 2 eggs worth. WILD. All in all, enjoyable experience but Cameron Mitchell should probably revise some of the portion sizes/menu items. And please, please, nobody order the lobster scramble and experience the same fate that I did.
