Old location was incredible. However, the past 2-3 summers have been atrocious. The food is still good, but a takeout order ranges from 75-150 minutes to be fulfilled. Sit down is not much better, as you're being serviced by kids. It's awesome to have summer jobs for locals, but when you have very few cooks and are being served by people who are going back to HS/University next month, it's really bad. If you really want sushi in Normandy, give yourself a few hours, otherwise go elsewhere. read more

Not sure why there are two separate listings for Blu Sushi on Yelp (one of them is a three star rating and the other is a four star rating). It's also a little confusing that here on Yelp it is called Blu ,spelt "BLU" and the sign in front of the restaurant spells it "BLUE" Sushi. The dual listing and dual spelling are both are minor points but it may be indicative that this sushi restaurant is a little disorganized. The staff are lovely, smiley people, and their service is good. We chose to sit outside which has much better ambience in my opinion. The sushi is good, my only negative is that the pieces are rather small, especially given the high price. Still, it's the only sushi between Lavallette and Point Pleasant, so that may account for the appeal. read more

Had our name on their first come first serve "list" and showed up when they called us. When we got there, we tried speaking with the hostesses but they both were never at the stand. Finally got to try this place that I've been hearing so much about!! It was worth the hype....and price. The staff were attentive, helpful, and polite; while the food was delicious! Was apprehensive about the sushi pizza (what in the world is sushi pizza!) but it was amazing. Very light if you are looking for some sushi flavor without a lot of rice. Read the reviews and was looking forward to an amazing experience but unfortunately Our experience was far from amazing. The positive is the food is very good and the fish is fresh and flavorful. The negative is the service. We had to flag down a server after being seated for twenty minutes. Once we ordered , our food came out of the kitchen in a haphazard manner. Some appetizers were delivered after the main course ( took about an hour for the first food items to be delivered) . We were a party of four . Our meals were all delivered at different times which meant we had the decision to eat them upon arrival or wait for everyone to be served. We encouraged everyone to eat which meant some people were done before others received their food . Hope service improves because the food is very good . read more

Sushi was great however the service was awful, server forgot my fiends soup. As soon as I finished my meal they asked us to leave. Food was mid, but service was terrible. We waited 20 minutes for a waiter to come take our order and no one came. We had to ask for our waiter. Our food took an hour to come out and our waiter never checked in to make sure everything was good. Our gioza never came out, yet we were still charged for it.
