We arrived at Blu Bar hungry, thirsty, and with the navigation skills of a confused tourist documentary.
Unfortunately, the kitchen had just closed. Fortunately, Marco appeared.
Rather than delivering the classic "sorry, kitchen's closed" speech, Marco became our unofficial Barcelona life coach. He pointed us toward a pizza place, promised it was good, and sent us on our way. Shockingly, a bartender's directions were 100% accurate. The pizza was fantastic, and we immediately returned to Blu Bar to reward this rare and magical event.
That's when Marco really went to work.
A party of 12 rolled in right after us, which normally means your next drink arrives sometime after retirement. Not at Blu Bar. Marco somehow kept everyone happy while making sure we were taken care of first. I suspect he bends the laws of space and time.
The passion martinis were outstanding. Then Marco recommended a bottle of wine. At this point he had a perfect record, so arguing seemed irresponsible. The wine was excellent.
This was our first stop in Barcelona, and Marco set the vacation bar so high that the rest of the city now has an unfair amount of pressure. If every visitor got a Marco, Barcelona would have to start charging extra.
