I've only been here once and once was enough. My wife has been here a few times. Most recently they didn't do her roots correctly and she had to come back to fix it. They always get dye on her skin and never fix it. Sometimes they put Vaseline on the skin to block the dye but that's not helpful when the Vaseline gets into the dyed part and it obstructs the dye from really getting into the hair. She comes home with stains every time. I decided to try them because now that I moved into Queens from Long Island, it's a trip to my usual girl. This place is absolute chaos. From the front to the back, it's not a workable environment. Not to mention not clean or sanitary in the least. Garbage, hair and tin foil EVERYWHERE! I understand it can be hard to maintain cleanliness in a busy environment but at least try to have some structure. They take walk-ins which is probably why they are never on time or get backed up with the people who make actual appointments. I asked for a simple half head color, 2 inch trim and blow. I was told it would be $120 when I came in. Fair price, I didn't pay that much less at my old salon. The woman who dyed my hair was quick but sloppy at times, which explains the discoloration of my front bangs, they have a yellow tint instead of actual blond. They don't have hair dryers so you have to sit with the dye anywhere from 20 minutes to 45, no one actually times you, they just keep prying open your head to check and then keep it moving. I was told the owner would be cutting my hair. Got my hair washed, the woman washing asked me if wanted a special conditioner instead of the regular and I said no thank you. All of sudden plans change. The owner isn't cutting my hair, some other guy is doing it. Ok no big deal. He proceeds to balance cut my hair instead of a volume cut, my hair is super thin, it needs VOLUME. I needed the cut regardless, moving on. I asked him to slightly cut my bangs, he cut them too short. He blows the hair and then all of a sudden whips out a flat iron. I didn't ask for a flat iron. I WANT VOLUME! Why would you flat iron my thin hair after just getting a beautiful blow out?? Then I go to pay and he tells me $140.... I said no. Your prices online and the price given when I first came in is what I should be paying. All of a sudden the woman who washed my hair claims she gave me the special conditioner. I said no you didn't. Then she turned around and laughs and says oh no that's for the customer I have now in my chair... ????? WTAF?! Then they all start arguing with each other in their language. Apparently they do this a lot and can never agree with the pricing. Super embarrassing, unprofessional and makes you feel uncomfortable. I finally paid and left. Don't recommend. read more

The service here was disappointing. I went twice. The first time a stylist brushed my hair as I was waiting for a hair cut. She then brushed another woman's hair with the SAME brush immediately afterwards. The haircut was just fine so I returned a second time. This time I waited 30 minutes at a sink before someone came to wash my hair. The sink had gunk and hair in it and the washer did not clean it. When I complained the manager told me she doesn't speak English. I said "ok does she speak cleanliness" because that transcends language. The woman at the front desk tried to physically push me back to the sink when I said I was leaving and I had to tell her not to touch me. The manager then wiped down the sink with a dry towel. I said that needs to be washed with soap. He rolled his eyes and took some shampoo and started cleaning the sink. At that point I decided to leave. This is not to mention that three women were getting highlights and showed me pictures of how they bleached the back of their hair off! All three of them! They then tried to tell them that was normal. I would avoid this place like the plague! read more

Without my explicit consent, a substantial amount of my hair's length was cut without my permission, which was not part of the agreed-upon service and is particularly distressing as I have been growing my hair out for a considerable time. HE BUTCHERED, CHOPPED OFF ALL MY HAIR AND BURNT IT WITH CHEMICALS, DAMAGING WHAT IS LEFT OF IT. While Jerry was pleasant in demeanor, the execution of the service did not meet professional standards. The drastic alteration of my hair's length, contrary to my instructions and without prior discussion, has left me very disappointed. NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS LOCATION. Left dye in my mom's hair and didn't wash it out. Left my hair 3 different colors. I watched them wash a girl with red hair and a ton of hair came out and they wrapped it up and threw it out fast so she didn't see. Used same hairbrushes for blowouts. The salon in the past had decent prices, therefore I think that's why it gets still a lot of customers. My daughter and I went for a wash and blow, and we were there at opening because it gets crowded. We should have walked out when we witnessed the uncleanliness. Mind you, they had just opened and the floor was litter with hair, the area where they store the towels looked like towels you would find at a 1 star motel, and to put the icing on the cake, they forced you to tip, even when they know they are giving you bad service. One of the hairstylist looked like he received overnight training on how to blow out hair. I felt really bad for the women sitting in his chair. Someone from the BBB and/or whomever checks on the ratings should visit this establishment; because it was Unsanitary. I asked for a very specific style and even through multiple times of rejecting his suggestions, he continued to be pushy about it and ended up doing a style I never asked for. A year ago, I was very upset with my experience here, especially because I was a happy and loyal customer for years. However after some time I tried again, and once again I'm a happy customer because Jerry really does go out of his way to ensure customer satisfaction, his lvl of professionalism is much appreciated. Wow! I did not think a wash and blow out could be done in less than an hour and look SO good! Lily did my hair, and was great. I forgot who did my wash/deep condition (started with an E?), but wow. She massaged my hair while it was being washed. Then she did the deep condition, which came with a face massage. Don't wear face makeup if you opt for that, my eyebrows were wiped off . After, my hair was wrapped in a hot towel. That felt great. But THEN -- I got a massage! Arms, shoulders and back. Felt so nice I started falling asleep. All that, and i paid $24!! This review is for Blowout Spot 2 on Liberty Ave (since I'm not seeing Blowout Spot 2 on Yelp) Don't trust them with hair coloring if you care about your hair!!! I feel this salons aren't as experienced as they claim to be in hair coloring, they colored and stripped out my hair color and didn't let me know that she was over-processing my hair 3x just to get it really blonde and for a color I never asked for. What I ended up with from this salon was; damaged dried hair and dry scalp from Blowout Spot 2 on Liberty Ave from the Asian lady over processing my hair, & from all the damage she ended up doing to my hair the man on the chair that cuts & blows, had to cut my hair super short from ALL THE DAMAGED she caused to my beautiful (then) hair. She never explained to me what she was doing , I ended up figuring it out myself and when I saw how dried my scalp was & how short my hair was! 6 hours in a chair, I'm sure she knew she messed up! And was trying to fix it and not letting me know anything, just gas lighting me! I was so embarrassed and all of my family telling me is what happened to your hair! I had beautiful long hair, now it's short n dry looking. Never again!! Is all I can say I wonder why they don't want to clam their account on Yelp. I used to do my hair with Jerry when he worked in 86 street . When he opened in Howard beach I was so happy. Jerry does amazing work . I always do highlights , full head or half head . I wouldn't go to any other salon . The girls are really good with coloring/highlights. I only let Jerry cut my hair . Jerry and his team In Howard Beach do an amazing job and in a good time. My favorite part is Jerry's prices are very reasonable . Excellent work without breaking the bank . I love doing braids in the summer. 2 French braids . Very cute and a they do a good job. Well... I'm not sure where to begin... (long story to come be advised) I'll start with the fact that this place hustles you like NO OTHER.. walk away while you still can. With the quote of "I can do 271.00 that's my best price" to do someone's hair, I should've ran and never looked back butttttt I stayed. I show the owner Jerry pictures of the hair color I'm possibly thinking about, he goes ok we can do that, I say PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ME BLONDE I've done blonde I hate it on me- blonde is not what I am looking for please, put in light brown - balayage. I show him a picture of what I am looking for, he asks for more, so instead I PULL UP A PICTURE FROM HIS OWN SALON THAT HE POSTED ON HIS INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT. I sit down and get a hair cut, (I hate that they thin out your hair without asking you) but the guy with the sweat outfit (didn't catch his name) was the only one who was a decent human, and the only one who received a tip from me that day. So after my cut I then sit in the chair to receive my light brown balayage. I am in the chair she says nothing but hello to me, starts working on my hair, she then finally finishes (2 hours later, and my head hurting because she makes it dry and pushes your hair to your scalp causing it break and dry out) I say to her my hair takes very easily and I'm nervous it'll be too light please check my hair she replied with "no, 30 mins" , I sit and nervously await her to return, nothing, an hour later nothing, I then say to her ok it's been 3 hours, look at my hair I have to go. She comes over and before she touches me I start to look at my hair, and SEE BLONDE!!! Are you KIDDING ME?!?!? (All pictures are below) the owner Jerry comes back over and goes "what was the color, I forgot" YOU FORGOT, you forgot the girl who said no blonde?! And made blonde. So I freaked out as they told me to "calm down and be patient". As I'm in the sink getting my blonde hair cleaned off, they're trying to sell me on deep conditioning for another $6.00, my response I have a baby at home, I have been here for now 6 hours, and I'm blonde when I specifically said I didn't want to be. I don't want anything. She responds "4 hours, 6 hours it's the process" I nearly lost it on her. Jerry then proceeded to come to me and juice me up, "it's ok be patient I'll give you conditioner to take home (which was never given to me), and we'll put TONER in your hair it'll be brown (NOT THE WAY YOU DO THINGS CAUSE NOW WHEN I SHOWER OVER A WEEK LATER BROWN IS STILL COMING OUT OF MY HAIR- so I'll be blonde soon I know it) the same girl comes over and put the toner in and stains my shirt because she's unprofessional and puts it in your hair like shampoo!!!!! so after another 2 hours my daughter waiting at home I become a hint of change in brown. That he now has up on his Instagram, to save himself, even made me take pictures in the back room, that I hated every second of because I wanted out of that damn place. I go to pay and hear 271.00 EVEN AFTER THE HOURS OF MESS UP!!! I paid it and walked out. Unhappy, annoyed, stained shirt, tired, and hours wasted. NEVER AGAIN!
