We used the self checkouts and I have mixed feelings about them, but they work. I still like having the option of a cashier person. He said he would be at my home by 8 but arrived near midnight and spent the entire night working on my refrigerator (with frequent breaks in his truck taking naps). When he left, the refrigerator was running, but later that day when I came back from work, I saw that it was not cooling. I have called him repeatedly and made appointments with him to come back and he never shows. It has been at least 20 days. The man's name is Ronnie Greenlee, he has addresses in Mobile and Gulfport. His number is 617-432-3247. I am giving that number so that you never call him accidentally. Seriously, the man is a nightmare. The refrigerator is now in my garage being used for storage and I have a new one from Lowes that thankfully was an excellent price.

My appointment came and went with no communication. My husband called to inquire and informed that he hadn't received a call from anyone there, but it wasn't a big deal. The employee reschedule the appointment for another day. The next appointment comes and goes with no communication. My husband calls again. This goes on for a couple of days. We set up an appointment, wait for a call, no one calls and my husband has to call them to inquire as to why. The last time my husband called to inquire on why no one contacted him about assessing the appliance, the employee states that "I remembered who you were and your wife was rude to me on the phone. So I didn't feel that we needed to start a professional relationship on those terms" and immediately hangs the phone up on my husband. Neither myself nor my husband was ever rude to anyone, ever. Even if they felt we or I was rude, why wouldn't you contact me and say so as opposed to rescheduling my appointments with no intent to ever come out and look at the appliance. I have worked in customer service for years and this has been the worst customer service experience I have ever received in my entire life. Very unprofessional and RUDE! Which is what they claim I was to them. DO NOT PATRONIZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently purchased a new bedroom suite from Hanks in Spanish Fort, and I have to say I'm confused by all the low reviews. I worked with James, the manager and after looking at various sets, I chose the one I wanted. I don't do impulse buying, so I waited a few weeks to make sure, then came back in to complete the purchase. Everything handled inside of twenty minutes, max. We set a delivery date; they called the day before to confirm; and the drivers showed up on the date and within the window. They hauled my furniture up two flights of stairs, unpacked it, set it up and placed it right where I wanted. I obviously can't refute others experiences, but having recently arrived in the area, Hanks of Spanish Fort is most definitely on my list for whenever I need furniture in the future.

Know you know how old I am. ;) There's nothing old or 80's about this store. It's a great place to find the latest trends, and they carry everything you could possibly want or need for your house. I found so many things I need for my home, inside and outside. Actually, I bought my patio furniture cushions from this store in another city, back when this chain store was called Garden Ridge. They still have the same cushions, and they're very reasonably priced - maybe $30 per full seat cushion. They have plenty of garden items. My favorite thing in the store is the housewares. They had a great selection of furniture, including some pretty little gold and mirror tables that I think will make great nightstands. I found some ottomans similar to ones my BFF priced at another store and the ones here were half the price. They have an aisle of mirrors, a few aisles of pictures for every room in the house, a huge selection of trendy lamps, bedding and linens, bath accessories, and small kitchen appliances and cookware. Seriously, everything you want or need can be found in At Home. Really, you'd have to see it all to believe it. The prices are very reasonable, and much less than you would pay for the same products in other stores.
