When my PCP of many years decided to strictly practice Cardiology I was left searching for a new PCP. I printed out a copy of my BCBS preferred providers list in my surrounding area and Dr Bloor had more awards, Degrees and certificates than a 5 star general. She also happened to be at one time my wife's PCP. Not really feeling too comfortable with having a Female PCP I threw caution to the wind and made the leap of faith. She seems very thorough and will not hesitate in sending me out for further testing if I have any concerns. She also has no problem with Referrals. I requested a refill on a Friday, and because my own PCP was not available, Dr. Bloor returned my call. She knows nothing about me, but looking at my list of medications she presumed to suggest I get weaned off of a medication which "can be dangerous for seniors". I have been taking this medication "as needed" since I was twenty. I am now 80. Such arbitrary rules originate with medicare of course, but I am shocked that a physician would say such a thing to a person she never met. She does not know how, or how often, I take it; she does not know how it affects me, and most of all she does not know that it is one of two medications that work. A dozen others do not work for me. It is becoming clear to me that many physicians' concern is primarily with staying on the good side of government, rather than trying to help the patient. ER read more

I've waited a few months since my appointment to post a review, but my experience was so negative I decided to share. I went to Dr. Bloor because I needed a new PCP after moving back to the area. When I initially booked the appointment, the receptionist was pleasant enough. By the day of the appointment in July, however, things went south pretty fast. First, my GPS took me to the entirely wrong place, mere minutes before my appointment was scheduled for. I called the office to be courteous and let them I still planned on coming in ASAP. The response on the other end of the line was the most sarcastic "...um...ok" I've ever heard. When I finally walk in, the three women behind the desk could barely be compelled to cease their conversation for even a moment to greet me. They just turned and stared until I introduced myself. I was given the new patient form to fill out, and I again went unacknowledged when I dropped the clipboard back off at the desk. The nurse (Lynne, I believe) took me into a prep room to do bloodwork and shots, and spent the whole time treating me like a pin cushion while carrying on a personal conversation with another nurse who was in the room. Then comes Dr. Bloor. This women will not let you talk. If you try to get a word I'm - even in a lull in conversation - she will just keep talking, in addition to that, if you ask any questions, she will both make you feel dumb for asking, and answer you in strict medical terms, so you really end up feeling stupid for not understanding. What really ended up upsetting me, though, was I brought to her attention a health concern of mine which I have a strong family history of. This is something which doctors and surgeons of other family members of mine have personally urged me to look into. She basically dismissed my concerns and said I was worried for no reason. I was supposed to call back the next day after the appointment to schedule a follow up for an unrelated test. Instead, I told the receptionist how rude she and everyone else in the office had been, and that I would not be returning. Dr. Bloor did personally call me about an hour later to hear what I had to say, and I explained to her what an unprofessional office she is running over there. But that's not enough to give this place higher than a one star rating because I doubt she's changed. There are plenty of other wonderful PCPs in the area. I urge anyone to look elsewhere for theirs. read more

Dr Bloor is a wonderful and caring doctor. She is practicing state of the art medicine with her use of electronic records and web portal. She is knowlegable and caring. I highly recommend her as a physician! read more

I am very surprised by these negative reviews. Have been a patient of Dr. Bloor's for a few years now and she is AWESOME. The office is one of the best run facilities I have been to in recent years. I never wait upon arrival and I always get a call back with test results, or if I call Dr. Bloor for any reason. JMHO, but I think Dr. Bloor and her staff are a cut above. read more

I was going to try her as my PCP but it takes 6 months to get the first appointment. Yes, 6 months!!! And she won't see you for small/sick appointments unless you have had a routine exam first. Her receptionist flatly told me that unless I have had the new patient exam, I will have to find another doctor if I get sick. Wow! read more

Our family is extremely happy with the care she has provided to our elderly mother. Mother is a 95 year old who is very forgetful and constantly asks the same questions very few minutes. Dr. Bloor has shown infinite patience with mother cheerfully answering her questions. Dr. Bloor has answered all of the family questions including after hours follow-up. We recommend her as a family physician for anyone who may be looking for a primary care physician. read more

I'll start by saying I've only had great experiences with Dr. Bloor and Lynne Jumper, their receptionist staff on the other hand needs some help. I have been trying to refill my prescription and have only been met with crass and condescending remarks from their front desk staff when I call in and when they leave messages. Unfortunately, customer service is seriously lacking from this practice and has me considering weather it is worth it to stay or find another PCP. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Bloor since she was in her Malden office.. so that's been over a decade. These other reviews leave me VERY perplexed. First of all, the office staff are very friendly, very professional and very accommodating. Anything I need, the day I call in and at I'm not feeling well, they always make sure to see me the same day.On a rare occasion I call after hours I always get an immediate call back. Prescriptions when needed are filled in a timely fashion. Dr Bloor is as kind as she is knowledgeable. She listens to every query ( and believe me,Im one of those " what if" kind of people ) and addresses them to not only to my full satisfaction, but she's damn good at diagnosis and medicine and making people well. Lynne Jumper is beyond amazing. She too knows her stuff backwards and forwards. She will greet you with a hug. Remember you when she sees you outside of the office, and most importantly takes an avid interest in your whole wellness. Dr Bloor and her staff are unmatched. I love Lynn. SHE is the only reason why I go to Dr. Bloor's practice AT ALL. Dr. Bloor herself... Enjoys smirking at "us" uninformed buffoons. Don't ask questions you get talked down to. Lynn, will give you a hug when you're feeling unwell and makes me at least feel as if I matter and someone cares and is there to help me. Dr, Bloor, makes you feel small. I think the receptionists are great as well. A little over worked some days you can tell by the stress in their voice. Dr. Bloor is not a very likable person. When I do happen to get stuck with Dr. Bloor I end up going in my car and crying afterwards. Thankfully I've only had to see Bloor a handful of times in the 9 or so years I've been going there. I have never been to the office to see Dr. Bloor but was VERY unimpressed when I called. I called to schedule a new appointment as online through my health insurance she says she is accepting new patients. I received a letter in the mail asking to book my wellness exam. I called one week later to book my wellness exam and to get symptoms checked out. The receptionist was extremely rude and immediately told me they were not accepting new patients for 5 months. When I asked her where I should go for my symptoms, since my insurance police requires referrals from a PCP she told me I should just go to urgent care. She said it was because I didn't call soon enough and that they can't take me until February. I will not even go here because of my terrible experience with the receptionist. Being in the healthcare field myself, receptionists should always be friendly as they have no idea what is going on with a caller's health when they call. read more

I am truly blessed to have Dr. Bloor as my Primary Care Physician. I have been a patient of hers for a number of years now, and am so thankful that I found her. She is one of the most knowledgeable doctors I have ever met and is always ontop of any new developments coming out in the medical field and that for a patient is a matter of "life and death". These last two years I have been delt with some very scary health issues, not knowing what was to be. With Dr. Bloor's expertise and wisdom she helped me get through them. I honestly believe that she put me on the right track that saved my life. You see, I am very afraid of doctors of all kind; but Dr. Bloor is one of the very few doctors who not only looks at the medical side but the emotional side of a patient. To me that is a true doctor, the one who always remembers to do both. I remember I came down with a very bad case of pneumonia and was in the ICU for three days, switched to a regular floor and after a week went home. I must have called Dr. Bloor every three days for two months asking "Is this normal?". I did this because my family and friends thought that after a few weeks I should be back to my old self. It was with Dr. Bloor's patience, understanding and compassion that she made me realize that this was normal, made me feel at ease, that it was ok, and that I was ok. She always, always returns my calls in a very promptly manner and is not satisfied until she knows that I understand everything, all my questions answered and at the end of every conversation she always tells me to please call her with anything. Her office is like going to someone's home. It is so homey and the atmosphere is so pleasing and calming, not like 99% of the doctors offices that I have been to that drives my blood pressure and anxiety levels sky high. The girls in the office could not be more pleasant and accomodating. I must thank them so much, for my appreciation of what they do for me is so great. Whenever I need to see Dr. Bloor they manage to to get me an appointment to see her that very day. I want to make this clear; this is EVERY SINGLE TIME I am having a medical issue and need to be seen, they make sure that I am. I can not ask for more then that! Lynn Jumper is another very special person to me. Last May I thought I was having a stroke. She did everything for me and I mean in SECONDS, this "angel" scheduled everything and held my hand the entire time. She is another godsend to me. Then, there is Sue. I must tell you that I am absolutely petrified of needles, especially of having blood taken. Before becoming a patient at Dr. Bloor's office, every doctor would poke and poke until I was black and blue, making me even more scared to ever come back for a simple blood test. Sue has such gentleness that now not that I enjoy having it done, but I am not scared and best of all, "it does not hurt". One other thing that I want to mention which I think is very, very important that I found out. Every day, Dr. Bloor and her staff go through patients records to make sure that they are up to date on all there tests or if a patient needs some additional follow-up. I was so extremely impressed when I found this out. How many doctors would take the time to go above and beyond what is required of them. Example, I was supposed to go for my mamogram but continually putting it off because I just couldn't deal with it; it was Dr. Bloor's office who brought attention to it and scheduled my appointment and naturally took notice of the results that were thankfully normal. Again, another instance where another doctor would not have gone the extra mile. I am so thankful that I have the very best doctor with a staff of the very best. I always kid that if I had to move to California, that I would still fly to Dr Bloor's office for my yearly physical because I know that doctors like her are very few and I am one of the lucky ones to have been fortunate to be a patient of hers. When a doctor gives to a patient their time, knowledge, compassion, caring, understanding and so much more there is no reason for that patient to look any further for that doctor is a gift in this world called "life"! read more
