Really disappointed. Tried them twice. Once for powder gel and once for the vynal lux mani pedi. Underwhelemed both times. The powder gel was okay, basic. Last about 3 weeks almost but didnt love the shape or thickness of it . So tried a regular mani pedi . They charge 10 extra for the longer lasting vynal for mani pedi. I had chips 4 hours later, and separating polish. I called to complain and they fit me in the next day after work. Re did both took another hour. Fine. Next day chips already !! I take care of my nails. I'm not rough, I work on computers all day. Never had such issues . For 50 bucks , and a mani pedi that was meh and chipped polish... not interested in trying for a third time. It was strange , there was another girl in the store when I went to get my polish fixed,complaining about her nails flaking and chipping. I feel like some of the polish is old. Never again! STAY FAR FAR AWAY The manicure was horrible but cheap so I didn't say anything. Ragged cuticles and cut down to my nailbeds even after I told her I liked nails a bit long. However, I just attempted to remove the pedicure polish only to find she used gel polish on them even after I explained I needed regular polish on my toes. One of the first things you'll notice is the spa music that instantly makes you feel relaxed. No loud TV's (awesome, since I come here to relax, not to fight to tune out loud music or the blaring sound of loud movies being shown for the benefit of the DVD hawker who tries to sell bootleg movies to her captive patrons). Cable news is shown in the manicure area with closed-caption if you choose to watch. aaaahhhhh ...... peace and quiet. The gel manicures are the best I've had while the pedicures have been "hit or miss" at times. Since I've been coming to this salon for the past several months, I'm still trying to figure out who the best pedicure operator is, so be sure to ask the owner to give you the best pedicurist when ordering your services. Since the majority of the operators are great at what they do, there are always one or two that give the bare minimum pedicure service only, so avoid the disappointment and just ask for the best available operator. I choose to make an appointment for each of my visits and, upon payment, Helen always offers each client to make an appointment, which is always the way to go. When i was reading all the reviews for blooming nails, i was a bit skeptical because it seemed like most of the reviews were more negative than positive. But i will say that my experience at Blooming Nails was nothing but a good one. I was coming in for a gel powder manicure (that i desperately needed) and as soon as i stepped in everyone was so kind and accommodating. I had picked out a picture off of pinterest of the kind of nails i wanted, and the woman working was so nice with helping me match the color perfectly. Also, the woman doing the design on my ring finger did an amazing job. My nails really looked awesome. My only negative was that they were a little expensive. I will probably stick to my regular nail salon for now, but if i ever need a complex design done, i will definitely consider coming back. read more

I had reservations a few days ago for a mani/pedi. It was a little busy due to the holiday, I waited about 10 minutes until I was called. My manicurist (Maria) was very good. She wasn't talkative, but she was attentive to detail from cuticles, filing, and polish, it was perfect for both my mani & pedi. The prices were reasonable for LI- $33 for mani & pedi. This place was very clean, which is important to me when I'm going to a nail salon. The decor is super cute & trendy brick walls which I love! The environment itself is very relaxing, including the pedicure chairs if you want to close your eyes and take a nap. Go for it! Maria also gives a great massage. I really wanted to like this place. It came highly recommended by a friend and I saw two others I know during my time there. Unfortunately, there is no way I can return. I had gel on my nails and was getting them trimmed and powder put on. I originally got my gel done somewhere else and my manicurist seemed annoyed when it didn't simply peel off after soaking. There's a reason for that, and it has to do with my gel usually lasting me a month without chips or cracks. I told her it will scrape off easily with the tool. She still seemed annoyed but used the scraper and sure enough it came right off. Then came my manicure. Though my nails were nicely cut and filed, my cuticles were untouched (and they needed some help after a full month!). She then proceeded to start my powder process. Maybe this is a personal opinion but I really don't like when my nails are done all the way down to my cuticles with zero space between the chemicals and my skin. I looked past it. Then she started to file down the powder and DESTROYED the skin around my nails. Three had visible cuts, one bleeding, and the rest in pain. I asked her to be careful but it didn't seem to change anything. When she put the layer of acetone in every single finger burned like hell. I immediately went home and washed my hands with alcohol to ensure I wouldn't get an infection, which also hurt very badly. The nails themselves look nice but it was not worth my fingers being in pain for multiple days and now having scabs where my skin was literally filed off. I was told great things about this place but had the complete opposite experience. read more

No need to look for a different salon to go to. I asked her if she can do ombré with glitter and I showed her a picture. Not only was I charged more than I am usually charged for a gel manicure anywhere else, the work was overwhelmingly sloppy. I asked her not to file my nails out of fear that she'd alter the shape that I already liked, but she went ahead and filed them anyway. They take time in the nail prep to make the foundation solid plus they use only quality product prior to even starting the Gel manicure. Perhaps that's why they last so long (2-3 weeks) chip and peel free. The end result never disappoints, always a professional finish worth every penny. Everyone is also very nice and friendly. I would give this nail salon five stars but the particular lady who did my nails was rough around the edges. When I told her what I wanted she didn't seem to agree to do them that way; it was more like she was going to do them her way. She just threw around a lot of attitude from doing my nails to paying the bill. While I was drying my nails, the lady walked away and never came to give me my bill. I had to interrupt her conversation with her coworker at her table to ask for the bill. You cannot put tip on the card, due to inconveniencing them with their taxes so be sure you have cash for that. On to the quality of the gel manicure and regular pedicure I received. Absolutely amazing job on the gel mani. Huge attention to detail with the nail preparation, cuticle cleaning and definitely FAR FROM CHEAP with the amount of product, including gel polish, they put on. The pedicure was nice but very slow moving; maybe it's not something they frequent but the lady I had seemed a little lost on the process. Overall I will be back to get a gel manicure.
