Even when we asked to see if they had anything we could look at , they told us that they didn't have anything to look at, which is weird considering it's a florist shop, but okay. and the women made a weird face when we said the wedding was in December, like she had an issue with it or that we were way behind on schedule. Seemed like they were having a bad day and didn't want to help us. The man just stayed in the back part of the shop and didn't even come up to meet us or care too. I have used Bloomingfields for all of my floral needs for many years. They did flowers for my very small wedding and numerous sympathy arrangements over previous years. The presentation is always beautiful and both plants and flowers are appropriate for the sentiment. Receivers have always been pleased with the items sent and have asked about the florist. I ordered flowers for my husbands aunts funeral service. We found them through the funeral homes website. I saw a beautiful arrangement with a plaque on it. We ordered the large one which was $119, needless to say we got what looked like the $75 one which was the small one. When discussing this with them they said they had to substitute some of the flowers and that they were more expensive flowers and that the plaque itself was around$30/$40. I should have never used them and went with the other one that was posted on the website like everyone else did. Their flowers were beautiful and way bigger for like $40 more than what we paid. They said they would credit us $20, haven't seen it credited back to my account yet... if this is how they do business for a family members funeral I hate to see how they do business otherwise... I wish I could make this a negative star. Went and preordered a wristlet for my granddaughter for Father/Daughter Dance last Saturday. I ordered on Thursday and paid cash for it $22.99 (For a wristlet for a 5 year old). Was told I could pickup after 12:00 noon on Saturday - day of dance. My husband went at 4:15 and they were closed! What business closes before 5 on a Saturday! No note - no where to pickup or contact anyone. So no wristlet for my granddaughter for the dance. I don't understand why the employee did not tell me - "We close at 4:00 on Saturday" especially when I told her I would be out of town and my husband would be picking it up. I asked if he needed the receipt - she said no. Just such a poor way to do business - I just called there and told her to throw it away - what a waste. We own our own business and would never tolerate an employee not discussing pickup/delivery options with our customer. Time for some employee retraining I would say! I don't know where to begin. I was planning my Dads memorial and had a horrible experience through FTD. What they sent was disgraceful. I showed up at Bloomingfields a complete wreck the night before the memorial, their staff jumped right in and put everything together for me in a matter of 30 mins. The plants and flowers were OUTSTANDING! But nothing surpasses the customer service and empathy they showed my son and I. They were EXTREMELY accommodating and quick. I highly recommend this florist! These 5 stars you see are against this shop! Everytime I ever wanted to go in the shop, they are closed, though signage on door says 5:30, I was there at 4:00 pm. So today, my husband & I get in the door...female (Liz), followed us around, told her I needed a wristlet for a 1st Communion, but was looking at the decorative items, jewelry, kid items. My hubby & I get separated, a man walks up...(as I read all the reviews, its the owner.) I said, "oh I'm already being helped..." & he said, "well she is helping someone else, so I can help you" But he was too close..in my aura... So, I gave him thee up/down look he backed off. I told him, "thats my husband, shes helping us" the guy went back to his little hole in the back room. So I was really interested in two giant book shelves $800.00 each from 1100.00. While I'm deciding on those I ask how much for the wristlet? Liz states, "they start at $39.99." I ask," how many roses for that price? " "3", Liz says... "oh sorry, too rich for my blood" I tell Liz," but I'll be back to buy other things when I get paid..." (mind you I'm in my p.j.'s cuz we dashed outta the house, but I am wearing a $15K wedding ring & a $5K anniversary ring) so as we exit..my husband WHO CAN READ LIPS, says, " she (Liz) just told the guy in back that we were 'casing the place'" Unreal....so I call the shop explain to Liz, who I am & what she said to the owner & why I'm calling.... & that my husband saw what she said! Liz transfers me to guy in back... Guy in back (the owner) says, "the owner is not here today...." & I dont know anything about problem & that the girl upfront has left for the day! But I'll take your name & number & have him call you.... Yeah, right...I'm on a 'file' for casing his florist...pah leeze. In reading all reviews...I see who the problem is! Great experience for my fist time ordering an arrangement for a grand opening celebration! Greeted by friendly staff and I worked with a creative florist. I picked out a larger plant arrangement in a ceramic pot. The florist added a few bursts of colorful flowers tucked in the plant. What a beauty it turned out to be! Price was high, around $125.00 total, but it was well worth the money because the plant with the addition of flowers was perfect for the occasion. Plus the florist was very helpful and came up with ideas to ensure I was satisfied. I would surely use Bloomingfields Florist again and would recommend it to others as well! read more

This place is not even deserving of one star. I made 4 attempts to set up a wedding consultation here. I have no idea why I bothered 4 times. My fiance and I went in the store shortly after we were engaged in August to set up an appointment. We were told that Larry was on vacation in Florida, and that he would get back to us next week upon his arrival back in Orland. Three weeks went by, and we never received a phone call. I tried calling, and was told that I need to leave a message. This was the second time leaving my contact information. I waited another three weeks, and I never received a return phone call. I called again, and was told that Larry wasn't in, and that he would call me back tomorrow. Big surprise, no returned call! After a couple of weeks, I make one last attempt. After being shuffled around between a couple of people on the phone, they had to "check" to see if my date is still available. I was wondering, how could it be booked since it's now November, and I've been trying to get ahold you since August! After being placed on hold, I was told that Larry is just too busy with consultations and I was asked if I could call back in January! I was asked to call back in 60 days! I explained that this was my fourth attempt, and was told that there was no record of my messages and that maybe I "missed" Larry's return call. Yep, I'm sure I missed 3 calls from Larry. The lady on the phone (who may be his sister??) could not have cared less about my concerns. Big surprise...still no returned call. I can objectively say that I have NEVER had a worse experience with any establishment in my life. Businesses like this do not deserve to keep their doors open. read more

We moved here from Ohio last year and were in need of a good florist. We like to have the occasional fresh flowers for our home, but have been so disappointed in the past...I can't say enough about the OUTSTANDING customer service this particular florist offers. They are extremely helpful, their prices are quite fair, and their flowers are so fresh that they last a week easily. As I write this, I am looking at bouquet they made me 10 days ago...it still looks beautiful! They use the perfect combination of flowers that last a long time, along with bloomed flowers with buds that make the bouquets look and smell fresh for a long while. We will never go to another florist as long as we live in this area...Bloomingfields is definitely our favorite and we will be customers for a very long time!! read more

The owner of this flower shop has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. He is rude, condescending and outright mean. I wanted to purchase a $40 flower arrangement for my mother for Christmas and he told me that "this is an upscale flower shop" and that he could not accommodate my request. He kicked me out of his store and as I was walking out the door, he said to a co-worker "she looks like she doesn't have a lot of money anyways." I love the flowers here, I just found them recently by taking a new way to work from frankfort, i didn't realize they have been in orland park for over 28 years.I always get just what i ask for. My favorite flowers are gerbera daisys and they always have alot of them on hand. The staff is always courteous and friendly and I always get a good price on my blooms. They carry some cool gift items and some really neat home accents as well. The store has a beautiful ambiance to it. Keep up the good work thank-you read more

I ordered a wrist corsage and a Boutonniere from Bloomingfields last week for my niece's wedding brunch. I had sent them an email with a couple of pictures of what I had in mind. I was told over the phone that the flowers in the pictures were out of season but they would do their best to capture the "feel" of what I was after. When I picked them up I could not have been more delighted with what they had created. They were little works of art. I very highly recommend this florist. I saw an ad for part time employment for this particular florist and i figured why not give it a try and go in and get an application. off the bat the lady who had helped me had a rude attitude. She was saying how I would actually have to do work and people think you do nothing, well duh it's a job. I had mentioned my previous skills in customer service because the ad had mentioned that they preferred experience in that and she snapped back and said how it doesn't matter and again it was in the ad. she asked about my availability and I had mentioned I go to school until 11 and could come after that and that I could get there rather quickly and she again snapped back and said well by that time it wouldn't be until noon and i get here at one so, as if she were not happy with the fact I would be working more hours than her. she gave off the impression she did not want a student working for her because she does not think students will do their share of the work. I also asked a question regarding how many hours I would receive a week because the ad said 12-20 and when i mentioned it she had said well yeah PART-TIME, which okay that is part time yet part time to some companies could mean only 10 hours and I wanted a guarantee of around 15-20 hours per week, so as a possible employee I just was trying to figure out if this place was right for me. also regarding employment she had mentioned I would have to work Saturday's and I had asked if it would be every Saturday , just to see what I would be responsible for and what to expect , and she had snapped back and said well some depending who can work. again I was just trying to see if this job would be right for me as far as the hours go. not to mention she had told me i would be answer phones and cutting flowers and working the counter or assisting customers and the phone rang as she was helping me and she DID NOT answer it. after the experience of her basically discriminating students and potential employees , I had looked for reviews to see what I was really up against as to the staff I would be possibly working with. I see reviews of the owner, who I had saw when talking to this lady , and he did not come to me to give me the information himself when you would think the owner would want to introduce himself to potential employees but i guess not and from these reviews he is not a pleasant man. therefore , the entire crew is rude and disrespectful and I can gladly say I will not be submitting my application and it is going straight to the trash. If they're snappy with potential employees then they're going to be snappy to potential customers. look elsewhere for a happy environment to fit your needs. read more

APPALLED!!! I usually don't write reviews but after my experience, I felt inclined to do so. When I pulled up, I wasn't sure if it was actually a florist. 90% of the store contains gaudy knickknacks and holiday decor. The staff acted as if it were a museum. Three staff members followed us around to make sure my daughter did not touch anything; not even the stuffed animals! It was as if I were the character from Pretty Women shopping on Rodeo Drive and all I wanted to do was purchase a Center Piece for Easter Dinner! He is arrogant and basically walked away from me during a consultation because I did not like his suggestion for a color scheme he recommended for a flower arrangement! I have been a loyal customer of Bloomfields for years and have always been happy with the floral arrangements. However, I had never met the owner until today (12/7/15).I bought a lovely flower arrangement on 11.14.15. I also purchased 7 boxes of mini LED lights I saw displayed on items in the store.The lights cost $150. for 7 boxes ( I had just spent $90. for the flowers).Over the weekend I began decorating my house for Christmas and much to my disappointment, the lights needed to be plugged in. I bought them because they were suppose to be battery operated. I took them back to the store today and found some new lights which were battery operated which cost $78. for 6 boxes.I asked for a credit on my credit card for the $72. difference. The owner refused saying I would have to pick out something else in the store which I did not want to do. I explained that I have been a good customer for many years and sent him referrals. He started yelling at me in a loud voice saying I'm not special and he wasn't going to be stepped on by a customer (whatever that means). Then he yelled that in fact he wasn't going to take a lights back at all and that he didn't need my business, which he won't get anymore. When I was walking out, two older women( I'm a senior myself) commented to me that they were outraged by the rude owner and his treatment of me. This man should not be dealing with the public.In fact, he shouldn't be in business. read more
