Thank you from the bottom of my heart he won't ever forget you and neither will I!

This is a sad little story but entirely to Neilsen Florist's credit. My family from Boston, NYC and…read moreToronto sent flowers to a terminally ill Aunt 2 weeks ago - the roses came from Neilsen and were exquisite, and lasted (most of them) 11 days. We ordered more to arrive a yesterday but there was no sign of them by end of day today, so I called Neilsen. It was just after closing but the owner picked up and did everything she could to help...turned out the order company hadn't used Neilsen this time and the company they did use hadn't followed through. Sadly, tomorrow (when it seems the flowers will at last arrive) will be too late for our Aunt, but we wanted to thank Neilsen's owner for her efforts to sort things out (even though it was not her responsibility) and for her kindness in offering to get flowers to us anyway. There aren't many business people like her around. And her roses were absolutely top quality. Thank you.

IF YOU WANT TO BE DISAPPOINTED, COME HERE…read more Recently I've placed an order to be delivered on Valentines Day, I paid and made the order days before the delivery date, it's already February 15, at the end of their work day STILL no flowers. No updates of where they are, I called and called and called and all I was told is "the delivery driver will have it delivered" Their website even says "same day delivery" BULL SHIT

The Design: The "designer's choice" bouquet I ordered for a grieving friend was poorly arranged: visually unbalanced in both color and shape. It was mostly white flowers with two pink daisies awkwardly centered, and the shape was bottom-heavy. However, if you order a "designer's choice" design like I did, you get what you get and if you're unhappy with it, you're unhappy with it. And while you do have a chance to give instructions when ordering, I didn't think I had to specify that it needed to follow basic considerations in design. While floral design is subjective, basic principles like balance and structure should still apply--especially for a smallish bouquet for $100! Customer service was frustrating and unhelpful: Although they send a preview photo and request feedback, it's essentially meaningless. I called within 20 minutes of receiving the preview to express concerns, but the bouquet had already gone out for delivery. The staff member showed no interest in resolving the issue and just repeated the return policy over and over, refusing to engage in any real problem-solving. Her priority seemed to be ending the call, not helping the customer--even when I remained polite. After continuing to push for some solution, I eventually got very frustrated and they offered to "look into" and "possibly" revise the bouquet although only if I paid another $18 delivery fee and it would be a day late. Overall, an extremely frustrating (and costly!) experience with no accountability for quality or customer satisfaction.

On April 22 I made a conscious decision to go in to urban feed and garden to purchase a tree for my…read morewife's birthday, instead of going to a box store to support a local business in my neighborhood. I paid about 40% more for a tree, a one inch caliper hornbeam in a plastic pot. The tree had a little bit of leaf burn on its new growth, but I chalked that up to being root bound in a pot, so I purchased the tree. I was landscape contractor for years, I have planted hundreds of trees so I planted this tree giving it the best possible chance for survival. With regular watering the leaf burn continued to spread, even though I held off on fertilizing the tree, until it showed signs of some growth so I wouldn't burn it or shock it. Last week I pulled it out of the ground because it was completely dead, when I did there was zero root development. Anyway, I know from experience that sometimes new plants just die but when I was running a landscape construction I warranted every plant I ever sold to a customer. If a plant died within the first year, I would replace it. I could usually bring these plants back to the vendor and exchange them for a new one, but those were real nurseries like Gurneys or Molbaks. I called this nursery and explained what I've written above and they told me they couldn't help me, I even asked if they would just give me another tree and they declined. We live in a different world, where accountability and responsibility are foreign to a lot of people. I won't be going back to Urban And garden.
