Since The Pink Teapot was absolutely heaving we decided to nip in here for a drink. From the outside the cafe looks quaint, with lovely lace curtains and cute windows, and being from Gloucestershire it seemed only right that we tried this place out! We took a window seat and happened to notice a triptych of three adorable poems, odes to the Gloucester Teas Rooms if you will, declaring the writer's adoration for this cute little cafe! It felt that this already had put us in good stead and so we had a look at the menu. We both went for a cappucino, since coffee was mentioned in the poems, and it was lovely. I wouldn't go as far as saying it was gourmet but the service was fast and friendly and the cafe was truly a relaxing place to stop off for respite. They have a menu full of sandwiches, cakes and other goodies all at a standard fare. The cafe is sweet and lovely to sit in, especially in the window seat where you can watch the world go by. All in all we had a lovely time so it's certainly on my list of recommended coffee stops!

Being as I was going to visit The Collectors Centre in Kirkgate Market I decided to try out Ravello Café for a quick coffee. It was really quite a lovely place to stop off. As I went in I was greeted by a really warm smiley guy who, once I'd ordered my coffee, said that I could take a seat as he'd bring over my drink for me. For only £1.50 I got a delicious cappuccino, which arrived within a few minutes of ordering. The café itself, although small, was really nice to sit in with a few interesting bits of artwork on the walls. They also serve food and of the menu I perused it seemed some way in between a greasy spoon and Mediterranean deli. There were breakfast sandwiches, such as bacon and so on, and olives and bread featuring amongst other tasty looking things. They had muffins and cakes on the glass counter at the front and also served lovely looking salads for take away too! All in all it seems to me to be a great stop off point for a busy day in Otley, and really cheap too.

To that end it is difficult to sing the praises of one cafe over another - they are all unique but also all sell similar things. Quench is one of the many wee hotspots in which thirsty shoppers may take rest and a welcome drink! It's a little more on the simplistic side to some of the other venues, but has some calming simple decor, potted plants in the window and local art work on the walls. For the chilled out vibe, with a choice of ice cream, teas, coffee, smoothies and freshly pressed juice, this might just be your venue!

This little cafe has to have the best customer service in maybe all of Otley. I'd had a long…read moremorning of shopping, which has to be said - it was tiring as much as it was pleasing, and I was in great need of sustenance. I wanted coffee and I wanted a sandwich so I decided to try my luck at Cranberry. I was greeted immediately by a lovely lady who smiled beautifully and took my order. I decided to go for a ham and cheese hot sandwich and coffee. I also had a can of dandelion and burdock, partly as I was thirsty but mostly because I'd not had it in yonks. I went to sit down on the awkward high stools and the wonderful lady came over and asked me if I'd like to have a table put out next to the leather seats instead! I said that would be great, so long as it wasn't in anyone's way, and she assured me it would be fine. She took my things, placed them down for me and was totally lovely about the whole thing. Fantastic stuff! My sandwich was pretty good, although not exactly gourmet, and my coffee was delicious. I think next time I will try the home made soup, as many customers were complimenting it as they left, but I will almost certainly be back here for a respite session when I'm next in Otley. It is one of the most friendly and welcoming places I've ever been and I couldn't have been more delighted with the service! It's a small shame my sandwich didn't live up to the ladies' service. Smiling helpful staff are situated behind a glass display counter showing of and dazzling variety of cakes and other sweet things to wash down the slightly posh sandwiches that area available. They also offer a large range of lunch time bites, gorgeous jacket potatoes with a range of fillings, sandwiches, toasties, paninis and so on, all freshly made. Their cakes are also delightful and go down a treat with a pot of tea of cup of coffee! Perfect if you're out shopping and want a break. Best of all though is that this is the only cafe I know of that caters for celiac sufferers, with a selection of gluten-free goods. I don't know about you, but that is an awesome thing in my book, as it is so easy for most places to ignore the unfortunate minority who can't enjoy gluten based products.
