They have special VW gifts, including mini camper vans and VW mugs - the sad thing is I know people who like these things! They also have a really special range of gift cards, which isn't something most actual card shops can boast, including 'swinging greetings cards' and 'wheel' cards! Nothing took my fancy, and I was literally in and out. A recurring theme was Betty Boop - her form appeared to be following me around the shop it seemed as she cropped up all over the place! In amongst a variety of gifts, jewellery, cocktail glasses with dappled patterns, glassware, porcelain statues of lovers and more you will find any number of trinkets and treats that are bound to please the eye. For my money, there wasn't quite a find unique enough to warrant its price, but I am sure that this is just an opinion. You can purchase a wide selection of books although there doesn't appear to be any order or theme to the titles stocked - which include British Wildlife and Stephen Fry in America for example. There are also plenty of magazines, Lottery and tons of puzzle books and calendars! As it has been established since 1859 I think it's only right that should you be in need of a birthday card, or indeed a crossword book, that your purchase be made in Mounsey's. Since The Pink Teapot was absolutely heaving we decided to nip in here for a drink. From the outside the cafe looks quaint, with lovely lace curtains and cute windows, and being from Gloucestershire it seemed only right that we tried this place out! We took a window seat and happened to notice a triptych of three adorable poems, odes to the Gloucester Teas Rooms if you will, declaring the writer's adoration for this cute little cafe! It felt that this already had put us in good stead and so we had a look at the menu. We both went for a cappucino, since coffee was mentioned in the poems, and it was lovely. I wouldn't go as far as saying it was gourmet but the service was fast and friendly and the cafe was truly a relaxing place to stop off for respite. They have a menu full of sandwiches, cakes and other goodies all at a standard fare. The cafe is sweet and lovely to sit in, especially in the window seat where you can watch the world go by. All in all we had a lovely time so it's certainly on my list of recommended coffee stops!
